I'm getting my G100 on Friday. So interesting that there are almost "NO" videos going over the basic setup and how to use the G100 - sort of an intro intro into the basic of the G100.. getting starteed guide. I saw the Lumx academy stuff. but that really doesn't cover much. Thanks for these little bits of content on the G100.
Is this your first Lumix? I do have a couple of videos made when I just got my G100. Hopefully you’ve found them! Are you using it for photos or videos? Or both?
@@ImageMaven I actually just cancelled my order, and instead am getting a used Canon M50 II. I watched some other videos on the G100.. and the autofocus is just sort of searchy. We'll see. Thanks so much for responding !!
@GoldenK9Campers Yes, it does hunt at times. I like it for photos better than videos. For photos I’ve never had any problems and it works for me as an EDC. The Canon is a similar size. Enjoy!

Hadn't seen it before but just looked and it's on the G80 and lx15/10.
Another good one is the 'miniature effect' where it makes the scene look like a stop motion animation. However, you have to be looking down on things from a height for that to work properly like from a tall building or mountain.

That's definitely a fun feature. Amazing what you can find when you're bored. Sadly I have the G9 but not the G100. But lots of other stuff to explore. Go have some more fun!

Perhaps I.Resolution on G100..I found more crisp and improved image ..Too portrait orientated..soft when on auto?
I haven't use i.Res on this camera. But I did test out my G9 and i.Res a few years back. It's not something I use regularly.
Hey Sk8er, I'm looking for a small camera with a great viewfinder and it looks like the g100 fits that description on paper. Would you be able to describe the viewfinder in the Lumix G100? I like shooting with manual lenses and through the eye piece. Thanks!
Hello fellow Sk8er! Are you planning to use this for video or photos? I use it for both. I shoot most of my UA-cam videos with this camera and the 15mm f1.7 lens now. Great combo! And I use it a lot for skate photos. It's just so handy to have in the skate bag. Less ostentatious than my G9. I'm planning to get the 9mm f1.7 lens next. I also have an 8mm body cap lens which is fun. That's also a manual lens. The eyepiece viewfinder has 3.68M dots, so it's quite high resolution. I use it a lot. Works well. I'm currently experimenting using this camera with a 100-300mm lens for "light" birding. Testing it out to see if I can leave the big camera at home on my next vacation. What I do when shooting Manual focus is to have focus Peaking ON (which most people do), as well as Monochrome Live View ON, and that really helps and seems to remove distractions and makes it easier and faster manual focusing. The only thing I would say is that it's a small camera, and if you're a guy with large hands, it might feel a bit cramped for you. Let me know if you have any specific questions about this camera. @@ImageMaven Thanks so much! I'm planning to use it for both. I've owned a Gh5 and an S5. I'm always going to do video but I've recently decided to go small. This would be my only cam for MTB trail pics, general art photography, video calls, and taking vids of myself playing music and stuff. I REALLY like the 15mm so I'd for sure pick one up if I get the g100. Thanks again for the feedback. I've heard mixed reviews on the viewfinder so it's good to know that you, as a g9 user, find using this one just fine.
thank you for the video. have you experimented with the Clear Touch function? I was quite surprised to come across it in the Play/Edit menus of my G9.

That’s really fun and I do think I’d use it if it was on my G9. With the release of the new S5ii with phase detect af lots of rumours of a G9ii, or equivalent being released, I really hope it happens. I wonder if things like Snap Movie would be included though, as Panorama mode wasn’t included on the original as it was deemed “serious” photographers would not be interested. I guess usage and mindset can change quite a bit in 5 years. As always a joy to see another vid from you Marlene, thanks ❤
Hi Sue, Great to hear from you again! Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts. Yes, I'm eagerly awaiting the G9 successor to show up as well. I doubt that it will have the fun features like Snap Movie or Panorama, as they typically save those for the consumer models. But I'd be happy to have a better focus system - like phase detect - instead. Although I've never had huge issues with the DFD focus. But still after 5 years it would be nice to have an upgrade. We live in hope! ;) Enjoy your day!
That thumbnail background color really caught my attention. Snap movie is a great feature, especially if not heavy into editing. I wonder how GX86 compares with G100.

What do you have on g100 in camera sequence composition?
You need to be in 4k photo mode for sequence composition. I show it in this video: ua-cam.com/video/WqSl_cS5QLM/v-deo.html If you’re not sure what to do check out the camera manual.
What’s the hand held thing you are using?
It’s the Mini tripod that comes with the G100.
Apparently, not a feature on the GH5II neither, personally, it couldn’t hurt to add via update…

I never have, but I'll definitely check it out!
