In all honesty what makes Sarah’s death in The Last of Us much more heartbreaking is if you see closely a tear streak down Sarah’s face, because she knew she wasn’t gonna pull through 😭
It’s a bit hard for me to feel sorry for a guy who thought it was a good idea to get his wife pregnant after they were _both_ exposed to a freaking mould virus … plus the fact we never saw the guy’s face and the kid who was a plot device in the main game got her own DLC … VII was fine, but VIII lost me when they got to “Oswald Spencer wasn’t really behind it all, he was inspired by an actual witch who used a Magical Glowing Tumour to try and bring her dead baby back to life (then the baby she tried to sacrifice was somehow strong enough to override her after being decapitated)” … seriously was Village even supposed to be an RE game??? 😒😒😒

Every time I get near the end of twd s1 I always hope there is a small chance that Lee can live but ultimately he always meets the same fate, no other death in a video game can make me actually feel like I lost a loved one more than this game. Jesus Lee is such a great character in video game history
tbh the walking dead i didnt really cry, i was more deadend and fully deadend to the death of sarah in the last of us...i was upset.. with the soldier...
Honestly the soldier could’ve defied orders and helped Joel and Sarah, but he decided that orders are more important than helping people. If I were that soldier I would’ve forced the military to treat Sarah
I know you said only 10, but I was disappointed that Luis Sera wasn't included from Resident evil 4. I never played the remake. It isn't like he was a throwaway character Leon and Ashley form a genuine bond with him. He gave his life so they could live.
Oct 1st , After Escaping the City, Jill set out to join Chris Redfield. However, all she found was an empty hideout of Chris's. On the floor was Chris's knife. Jill left without hesitation because she firmly believes Chris is still alive. She will search for him until she finds him. Then they can go and put an end to Umbrella...
This is related to your resident evil videos but it would be cool to make a tier list with the most unique enemy designs since you've already done the most disgusting, scary etc. This is just an idea btw, not forcing!
For me louis serra's death in RE4 comes close to the list espacially cause of his last words where he just said to leon that helping him and ashley was one of the only things that he thought were rightous to do. Also seeing him like this before his death really had me feeling sad for him.
I know a lot of people think James from Silent hill 2 deserved his death. But I personally found it very sad and I think it deserves a spot on here. And I am of course talking about the in the Water ending
This is an old, old game, but Lotte's death from Clock Tower: First Fear is heartbreaking. She tried to protect her best friend (the protagonist, Jennifer) from the vile Barrows/Burroughs Twins, but she was gravely injured. I'm referring to the death in the cave before the final sequence in the Clock Tower. Her other death, where she is shot by a hunter's shotgun, is a shock, but not as saddening as the cave sequence as she was so close to surviving along with Jennifer. You cannot save Lotte, whatever you do either, unlike the other girls in the game, Laura Harrington or Anne.
Hmm... interesting. So, that's the lore of Heather. I never played or watched gameplay of Silent Hill 1. I did however watch gameplay of Silent Hill 3 on TheRadBrad's channel years ago. (I think) So, I knew of Harry's death and Claudia trying to birth a God. I just didn't know Heather was a reincarnated clone of a witch that died. Thanks for the lore NerdSpace. PS. The only Silent Hill game I played personally was Silent Hill Downpour on Xbox 360.
I have only ever played The Evil Within 2 and RE8 when it comes to this list. All I'm going to say is Seb finding out what happened to Joseph. Sadly we probably won't see another game to wrap up those loose ends
respect! Tbh Piers and Ethan were neck and neck for me but since I only did one per franchise, I went with Ethan because of the amount of time we had with him and the situation with his daughter. Plus we had to watch him die multiple times lol
You know, there's a conversation that I haven't seen brought up about the idea of copying people and putting their consciousness into someone else in RE games (Alex Wesker/Natalia, Mother Miranda's entire plan, Ethan and the Bakers being recorded in the megamycete) and whether or not a copy of a person is really the same person. It comes up a surprising number of times in the series. The philosophy nerd in me eats that shit up. 😅
lol actually I’ve brought up this theory multiple times in my theory videos with the most recent being how Spencer could still be alive and the main villain of RE9. And the megamycete network & Alex’s experiment are two ways I mentioned on how he could still be alive 😅
Not exactly a horror game but still horror adjacent. (SPOILERS BELOW) The saddest moment in gaming for me was the ending of A Plague Tale Requiem. Amicia losing her brother, Hugo, to the curse of rats. She went through so much to save her brother from the plague and his powers but nothing worked and she had to accept the consequences to save the world. And Hugo, man...life just wasn't fair for him and he accepted his death. I can't remember the last time I felt so devastated about such fate for the characters I grew to love.
It's a shame Seb's back story wasn't handled better in the first game. Imagine he and Ruvik I don't want to say bonding over losing someone in a fire, but at least having a conversation about it and loss. Then again the first game's story was.. Well. Not great. Brown will always be the bestest boy and Rule of Rose to me is the closest to the Silent Hill trilogy we've ever gotten in terms of story. Other games copy the rust and visual aspects of Silent HIll, but that one, it's story felt like a Silent Hill game. edit; I felt gutted for Heather after that scene in SH3. Shame our o.g. SH protag had to go out that way.
Deaths in horror games are not uncommon and some hit harder than others. Doesn't even matter who either since side and main characters can die. Saddest ones for me are Luis from re4, Ethan from village, Sarah from last of us, and Lee from telltale walking dead.
Hmmm not a bad call. Think I just had a bigger attachment to Harry because I played the first game for the first time right before I played the third one actually.
Yes, The Walking Dead was indeed very emotional. Unfortunately, Telltale then ran into difficulties...
I don't know if you have kids , but games that hit different as a parent:
•The Last of Us (that scene broke me)
•RE Village
•Bioshock 2
Not Silent Hill?
Not Silent Hill 1 or 3?😊
In all honesty what makes Sarah’s death in The Last of Us much more heartbreaking is if you see closely a tear streak down Sarah’s face, because she knew she wasn’t gonna pull through 😭
God don’t punch me in the gut even more! Editing that scene into the video was rough lol
Ethan's death made me cry so hard 😭 he was such a great father to rose :(
It breaks my heart knowing poor Rose didn't grow up with him. Seems like she had a rough childhood too with her powers ):
@@AliLiz91 yeah 💔

He definitely is! Ugh heartbreaking reliving that scene tbh
Sarah's death over joels is crazy also rip my boy lee
Totally respect your view point hence why I brought it up briefly, but for some reason Sarah’s broke me a lot more than Joel’s
I don't have a problem with Sarah being here over her father. Sarah was innocent, Joel wasn't.
Lee truly is the saddest death in horror games, that one stuck with me.
Agreed clearly lol
Man u did me dirty by making me watch lee scene again i was trying to get ready for my lecture but now im crying again
lol I’m sorry but you had to know it was coming 🤣

You’re 100% right on #2 in game 1 instead of game 2. Game 2 was anger not sadness. Each game is a reflection on those particular emotions.

One per franchise is what I said at the start and I went with Ethan Winters from Village over Luis
Luis had a more fleshed out character and story in the remake. His end in that was a lot more upsetting than in the original

The last of us show covered the death really well. And by "well" I mean it was just as devestating. My heart and eyes hurt :(
Why isnt there joel from last of us there? This was the saddest.
Made a reference towards him in the video but I definitely got hit harder with Sarah’s death tbh.

Dead Space (1 or remake), Nicole Death reveal. It is really sad.
Luis’ remake death was pretty sad as he felt like main character much more than the original
