I don’t know why, but I really like Selvie as a character. She’s one of my favorite characters in this game to be honest. Plus, the image of Alain visiting her in the library or where she does research when he’s free and just listening to her tell him about whatever discoveries she made or whatever project she’s doing is oddly endearing.
I thought she was very good looking from the start, and dorky, so she was my first pairing choice. That choice solidified with the fact that Selvie apparently holds herself in such low regard that she believes Alain's confession must actually be him making fun of her... I had to give her the ring at that point, she needed some love.
When I first heard her English voicing, I thought how well the voice suits her. And then I listened to the original Japanese voice, which sounds... like an airheaded teenage kuudere. It is like two different characters, but I must say, I like the English version, i.e. the voice of a mature older woman, better.
Alain compelling the lost souls seems SO much more plausible with Selvie by his side, like something he'd learn from her and her research to even think of doing in the first place, while with most others it feels weird for him to take that route.
