Thanks for another great update. So much Oil and Gas in this region to fuel the inevitable and critical energy transition. Ideally these prospects can be developed mindfully using the latest lower emission technologies in production and transport.
Thanks Mr Paul. Namibia (and South Africa) are blessed with competent and committed operators who will ensure the future production will generate minimal emissions (as low as reasonably practical). This energy could displace the more polluting coal-powered generation which is currently in place in the region.
Thanks for that. If you watch our videos from all around the planet you will realise I have to try pronunciations in Chinese, Spanish, Norwegian and several dozen other languages. I butcher them all. I will try and remember you helpful information, but there is a lot to remember for these recordings.
@@TROVE-1stSubsurface No worries. You probably don't have time to watch the propaganda videos from the companies involved! Google Translate can be useful for a quick reference though: It suggests Afrikaans in this case and gives an audio sample.
It is expected that Kudu (BW Energy) will start production in 2028, followed by Venus in 2029 and Graff in 2030. These are estimates and there is a lot that can change between now and then. Exploration & Appraisal is still very much the focus in the deepwater Orange Basin - it's early days!
Thanks for that. We do try to get pronunciations correct as often as possible. This is one we have slipped up on a couple of times - it can be difficult when across all our videos we are pronouncing words in Chinese, Spanish, Norwegian and several dozen other languages. I will try and remember for the next video. Thanks again.
@@TROVE-1stSubsurface well it does look similar to propane, so I can think of the confusion it might cause. It seems like the word can be written with an e on the end which I was not aware of. I hope to hear more about the blocks in South Africa.
Majority of my people myself included only interested in when the oil start to flow and what are the benefits to masses. Leaving all these technicalities to those who know better, that's what matter to the citizens for now.
We have been doing videos on Namibia for almost 2 years and covered Recon a few times over those videos. This video was just an update on recent activity in the last few months - we didn't see any major updates coming from Recon in the last few months (unless we missed something?). We'll return with news from the Kavango Basin when there is something substantial to report on.
We hope ordinary Namibians will benefit - the sovereign wealth fund should benefit all. Just have to keep an eye out for corruption as the riches start flowing..... We do not recommend stocks & shares. Primarily coz we get it so badly wrong.....
Thanks Justin. In later videos I started to pronounce it correctly. Trouble is that to do global videos you need to be able to pronounce Vietnamese, Greek, Spanish etc etc.My skills don't stretch that far.....
@@TROVE-1stSubsurface Hey - no worries. I have a former associate and good friend of Scottish heritage but grew up in Rhodesia. He became my horizontal drilling "accomplice" in the end of the eighties and early nineties here in the WCSB. He was a damn fine bush cook and a better story teller and so I got lots of great stories of life in the Savannah with Cobras, baboons, tsetse flies and mopane trees and grubs. I noticed on a later Namibian Trove video you had made the correction. I have friends in the investing community who ask my advice on developing oil and gas stories and so I try to give them the goods on things like RECO, SEI, TAG, VLE etc. The last reservoir geology project I did a presentation on was the Khmer basin Kris Energy project at Apsara to the Minister of Petroleum in Phnom Penh in 2022. Interesting but tricky reservoir geology.
Great update. looking forward to some of the sourth african wells, will be good to see how far the play extends
Many thanks - if anyone here's a credible source on web timings we will update these in our next video. Thanks GeoGuy
A fantastic video. It will be interesting to see what the Saturn results are. PCL for the win!
Many thanks for your comment. The video has certainly proven to be popular with over 1,500 views so far..... and rising

Thank you for talking about this!!!! Great video!!!!!!
Thanks Ben. More coming throughout 2024.
Exceptional video. Can’t wait for Saturn Super Fan well results
Looks a complex area - that could be good, I don't expect we will have to wait too long.
I believe the correct pronunciation of Mopane is something more like "Mow par nay"!

Awesome info!!
Glad it was helpful! Many thanks.
Thanks for this round-up!
You say 2028 for first production, is there any more detail you can say about that at this stage?

Nice update on Namibia. You should pronounce mopane as mopani. It is a type of worm the locals like to eat.

Nice overview Mike. Video quality now very high.
Thanks. We are hopefully getting better. We don't get funded for these videos so we could see rapid improvement with more financial support.
I noticed you didn't mention Reconnaissance Energy Africa, can you explain y why not.

How do you think Basic Namibian can benifit from this? besides jobs. do you think its a good risk to buy syocks in these drilling companies etc

Do you think we should look for tender opportunities? supply of oil barrels etc?
Melbanas on shore block 9 cuba is looking better than most of these high expenditure offshore wells.
Interesting - will take a look at our TROVE entry and see if there is likely to be enough general interest to warrant a video. Thanks Michael.
Has the South Africa / Namibia offshore border been agreed?
To the best of my knowledge it has been agreed. If anyone knows otherwise, please comment below.
What are the possibilities to see sp going over $1
PCL? Let's wait and see what the 3D results are and if Woodside buy in.
@@blairreese3534 yes , thanks , according to you how long does it take to see the sp going over $1 if farm-in happens with Woodside .
We are not a channel dealing in share price speculation. Probably best these comments are for the share chat forum.
It's Mopane - pronounced "Moe Pah Knee" - it's named after a Bush / tree found in the Savannah. Mopane scrub. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mopane
