This is one of the best videos I have seen in a long time. The production is excellent. Very clear narration, no unnecessary comments, attempts at humor or useless chatter. The editing could not be better. Your step by step instructions over enough detail and variables so people doing this project can anticipate and avoid issues. All in all, quite a good job!

Agreed, it’s annoying and distracting when they try to be funny, mixing in their usually unfunny humor with instruction. This video was professional and to the point. Well done.

Years ago, I priced out and boughta shed for less than $3,000 professionally built and installed, assembled on site, with the optional pressure treated floors, etc. For the hell of it, I priced out the same shed again and now it's more than twice as much, $6500 i think. Prices are crazy.

Thank you for your video, very informative. I have a bit of constructive criticism especially for viewers who are not familiar with the terms in the building industry. Throughout your video you referred to plumb as level. Level is a horizontal term. Plumb describes the vertical term. That said, you have given us a lot of valuable information in this video. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I have built sheds and homes in the past, and you made me think about issues I never thought of before thank you. Thumbs up!

Man this is a really good video on exactly how to build a lean to! This is a really nice one!
Everyone who owns a home needs a place to store stuff out of the way and out of the garage. I told my wife that if Santa Claus gets me a new miter saw for Christmas, I would build her a nice firewood shed. Well I got one. After watching this video, I think I just might also build her a shed like this so she can put all of her shovels, rakes, hoes, picks and axe and other stuff in it. I think I will put an air vent in it, and the bottom 1 foot of siding will be Hardee Board, so the bottom of the siding never rots from rain splash. And of course, I'll have to build a step to make it easier for her to go into the shed. :)

I think any amount of wind that could blow a shingle loose, would blow the whole shed off those blocks and send it sailing down the yard😂. I dont trust sitting a shed on blocks like that, especially on a slope😮. Maybe fasten it to the ground since it is so small? I like many of the techniques and ways to measure!! Great video with great advice 👍

When I did roofing in university (summer job), we always laid two courses of shingles on the bottom layer, one backwards, and the next the right direction. That ensured that there was no path for water between the gaps between shingle segments on the bottom layer. It left a small bump on the bottom. I guess your underlay is taking the job of that first reversed course of shingles?

    • @EverydayShed

Excellent video. Exactly what everyone else is saying. Very detailed. Just a quick question, on the website it says 8x12 but it appears to be for this 4x8 shed. The shopping list is for this 4x8 shed. We are building an 18x10 lean to shed. Any recommendations for modifying the list for these dimensions? Also, we will be storing riding lawn mowers and an old UTV that weighs around 1,000lbs+. Will this structure be suitable for these items? Thanks again for the awesome video!

    • @EverydayShed

Thank you so much for the kind comment. It should be pretty similar to build a larger shed. A 2x6 should be strong enough for a riding lawnmower, if you are concerned, set them 12 inches on center instead of 16. Good luck on your build.

Are you worried about water leaks where the rafter ledger is installed on the back wall? That wasn’t sealed. Why not install and caulk before you stand the wall?
