Complete step-by-step process on how to build a 4x8 lean to shed. This is a classic size shed that fits almost any yard and is efficient on how much space it takes up since it can be right up against your house.

I love everything about this guy's approach. Frugal, but not cheap. Doesn't cut corners or compromise quality.
Thank you so much for the kind words.
This is one of the best videos I have seen in a long time. The production is excellent. Very clear narration, no unnecessary comments, attempts at humor or useless chatter. The editing could not be better. Your step by step instructions over enough detail and variables so people doing this project can anticipate and avoid issues. All in all, quite a good job!
Thanks so much for the feedback and kind words 👍
Agreed, it’s annoying and distracting when they try to be funny, mixing in their usually unfunny humor with instruction. This video was professional and to the point. Well done.
Yes. This is the best video. Hands down.
WoodPrix includes very useful instructions with all details I need
Definitely a hidden gem and deserves more attention for DIYers on building shed on limited tools. Very detail explained on materials(especially on screws and nails) and tricks. I truly wish your channel all the best.
Awesome!!! Thanks you so much for the comment… i have alot planned for the channel. 😊
These videos are A+ when it comes to how-to. Everything you could need to know, and nothing you don't
I’ve watched hundreds of videos of sheds and I’ve built a couple of them and I must say that your video is one of the most informative. Well done and thank you.
I really appreciate your comment!!! Thank you for watching…
Im not even building a shed but watched the entire thing. Awesome educational video this guy rules
I love this comment so much!!!! Genuine!!! Thanks for watching
The accent never lies. Thank you for the great video, amigo.
Haha… Obrigado por assistir!!!
Suiiiiii
You are an absolute GEM! By far the most comprehensive explanation and providing the narration over the video makes the video a top-notch demonstration. Your tone is encouraging and builds confidence. Thank you so much!
Thank you!!!
Awesome!!! Thanks 🙏
Years ago, I priced out and boughta shed for less than $3,000 professionally built and installed, assembled on site, with the optional pressure treated floors, etc. For the hell of it, I priced out the same shed again and now it's more than twice as much, $6500 i think. Prices are crazy.
I know, prices are going up crazy.
This looks great! I especially appreciate the specific details for the screws and nails. Also, the pre-populated shopping cart is genius.
Thank you for the comment. I try to make it very straight forward.
Love this video. I’ve been wanting to put a shed up and settled on a lean to against the house but not a fan of the commercial options. Gonna give this a shot hopefully this year. Thanks for putting this together.
Greatness. Beautiful. Best Narration and Illustration ever. This video on a scale of 1 to 10, is an 11. God bless.
Hey, thanks so much for the kind words 🙌
Great tutorial, very clear instructions, steps are explained so clearly that it was worth seeing the video to the end, good job, this will be a future project for sure
Glad it was helpful!
This is such a simply designed shed, with only basic tools required, and an amazing tutorial video. Thank you!
You bet!
I live in an apartment so can't have a shed for now but I just enjoyed watching your video. Liked and subscribed because you do a great job and really help people save money.
Thanks for the sub! This goes along way…
The best video I've seen on building sheds hands down. You definitely caught my attention when I heard something about a Home Depot cart ready to go.
Wow, thank you!
I've been wanting to build a lean to for awhile and you made it so easy for me. Thank you so much.
You bet and best of luck on your project!
I also watched other videos on shed building and this is the easiest, thank you for taking the time and definitly will buy the plans from your page. Thanks a lot !
Glad it was helpful!
Amazing quality and attention to detail. Narrating on point!
This shed can be likened to a Corvette when you expected a used Impala.
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thank you for your video, very informative. I have a bit of constructive criticism especially for viewers who are not familiar with the terms in the building industry. Throughout your video you referred to plumb as level. Level is a horizontal term. Plumb describes the vertical term. That said, you have given us a lot of valuable information in this video. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I have built sheds and homes in the past, and you made me think about issues I never thought of before thank you. Thumbs up!
Thanks for the tips! We are all learning !!!
Very nice shed and super nice walk through step by step of the build. Great video
Thank you kindly
Man I wish I’d seen this video three months ago when I built my shed. This was so helpful and informative. Loved that you put together the Home Depot cart too. Very nice touch.
Glad it was helpful!
Best video I have watched on how to build a shed. Hopefully you can show us how to build a bigger one.
Awesome! Yes we have plans for many different sizes. Thanks
Man this is a really good video on exactly how to build a lean to! This is a really nice one!
Everyone who owns a home needs a place to store stuff out of the way and out of the garage. I told my wife that if Santa Claus gets me a new miter saw for Christmas, I would build her a nice firewood shed. Well I got one. After watching this video, I think I just might also build her a shed like this so she can put all of her shovels, rakes, hoes, picks and axe and other stuff in it. I think I will put an air vent in it, and the bottom 1 foot of siding will be Hardee Board, so the bottom of the siding never rots from rain splash. And of course, I'll have to build a step to make it easier for her to go into the shed. :)
Santa is awesome!!! Let's build a shed now...
Man, great job on both the shed and the video. Love the design, colors and construction details. Built to last!
Thanks!
I think any amount of wind that could blow a shingle loose, would blow the whole shed off those blocks and send it sailing down the yard😂. I dont trust sitting a shed on blocks like that, especially on a slope😮. Maybe fasten it to the ground since it is so small? I like many of the techniques and ways to measure!! Great video with great advice 👍
Very good video, with clear and precise tips and instructions. Your video was a brilliant explanation for shed beginners everywhere. I happened to come across your UA-cam channel just by accident, and I'm glad I did. I'm very happy with the way you laid things out and how you explained what you did. Keep up the great work. 💯👍👍👍
Thanks you so much!!!
Great video, best shed construction video on youtube!
Wow, thanks!
Looks good. I plan to build a 4x10 shed this spring.
this is a great model for other youtube content creators! Fantastic! and Much thanks!
More to come!! Thanks for watching
Wow. That was an awesome video. Best shed video on UA-cam. I am building an 8x6 sauna and this will be very helpful. I’ll check your plans out. Thanks!
Thanks!
you just earned a subscriber. well done video by far one of the best.
Welcome to the channel and thanks for the support 👊
WOW!!! I like the way you lay this all out.. I subscribed since this is one of the best DIY shed.. TY!!
Welcome to the channel.
Looks great, two things I would do different. Put a barn door to the L or R and match a 2x6 on the front top to match the sides. Appreciate the share and knowledge! 🍻
For sure! There are a lot variations we can do to this shed.
This was amazing. I will purchase the plans. You did so well, I am building three.
Awesome! Thank you!
incredible job very informative, One of the best tutorials ive seen
Thanks so much 🙌
Super great content! Love the explanations and step by step. Totally plan on buying some plans from you
Awesome, thank you!
Did yu use a 2x4 for your header?
The best video on making a shed thank you so much.
You bet, thanks for the feedback!
I built a lean-to shed this same size and eavestrough or drip rail is an absolute must or you are getting soaked in the rain if you ever need to get inside from all the water run off.
Well put together shed and video. Great detail, you just earned a subscriber 🎉😊
Thanks
That siding on the house is an optical illusion.
This is so good! Thank you for putting this video together!
You're so welcome!
Superb Instruction. Thank you. Great video. I’ll buy plans and build along with watching your video.
Thanks !!! Let us know how the build goes .
The best DIY Building a Shed
Awesome! 👏
Fantastic video thank you.
Merry Christmas from Ireland 🎅❤
Happy holidays!
Great tutorial 👍🏼 Excellent work as well
Awesome!! Thanks!!!
Outstanding build. I really liked that you shared the cost too. Subbed!
Great!
Thank you for a great DIY guide!
You bet!
Looks like good build on the shed itself, but depending on where you're at, you should probably compact the stone under the blocks (especially if there's any chance of the ground freezing).
So right!!! Thanks for the tip
Great instructional and well done sir..,
Thank you kindly
Thanks sir you just gave me a view on what I wanted to store my generator and yard tools! Nice build.
Glad I could help
Wonderful video. Obrigado.
Denada!!!
Excellent video. You did a fantastic job. Thank you.
You bet!
Really good instructions thanks mate good job.
Glad it helped
Thank you for the great instructions. Well done.
Nice! 👍
This video is so complete, clear, and educational that I am more tempted to attempt such a project. I need this kind of shed, but away from any structure. A lean-to would look weird?
No at all… lean to sheds are used everywhere… thank you for watching
Excellent video instructions quality build techniques. I'm going to purchase your plans. I definitely want a more secure door option. This shed would be about $3500 retail. It's a bummer to have to buy an entire second sheet of radiant barrier decking to fill that 12 inch gap.
Right?!? I though the same, how can I save money here… welll, i figure we can use the osb to build shelves
Excellent video, congratulations
Thank you very much!
Great video. I'll be purchasing some plans!
Let us know how your build goes!
The HD shopping cart link with all materials is missing..and the material list available via the link only took my email address a few hours ago but never sent the PDF of materials..besides those issues the content is great..
Man what a solid video thank you so much keep it up!!!
Thanks for the kind words! 🙌
Love your video. Very well paced and easy to understand. Could you tell me your material cost to build please? Would like to know before purchasing the plans thank you
There is alink to a homedepot shopping cart in the website, that will give you the free material list and cost :)
Thank you:)
amazing Video. I really enjoyed watching the whole thing!
Since you asked: I like diagonal braces to keep the door from warping over time. Is there any downside to that?
Thanks for watching. no downsides, it works well.
Great great video. very detailed. Been a long time since I have watched a video this long begining to.end
Thanks for the feedback and support 🙌
very good tutorial, thanks for putting this together....
Thanks!!! 😊 😊
Excellent!
Many thanks!
awesome work sir! Im going to use this plans.
Go for it! Let us know how it goes.
Great video and detailed. Certainly a very sturdy shed. However, when I pulled up the cost for all of the materials, it ran over $1400 and that's a bit high in my situation. I'm just looking for a simple outdoor storage space under $1000. Thanks for the great ideas though.
Yes! Lumber is getting crazy expensive…
Beautiful job. Thank you for sharing ❤️
Thanks!!!!
I built my 4x8 lean to shed for the gas and lawn mower, 30 years ago. Took all of one weekend. I decided it was easy, I'd build the dog house next. Took me three days to build the dog house. lol.
That is great!
Thanks for the great video! I just completed the structure and with a few modifications to fit the space I had, your video and material list was a huge help.
One thing I have been unable to find is the floor bolt you used @46:41 Would you happen to have a part number or link?
I looked in both of my local Home Depot and Lowe's with no success.
Thanks again!!
amzn.to/4e6guQT I used this kit, it came with the bolt
@@EverydayShed Thanks!!
Grate video and explanation ! 👏
When I did roofing in university (summer job), we always laid two courses of shingles on the bottom layer, one backwards, and the next the right direction. That ensured that there was no path for water between the gaps between shingle segments on the bottom layer. It left a small bump on the bottom. I guess your underlay is taking the job of that first reversed course of shingles?
Haha we all love those summer classes…. Well in this case the starting strip does the same job as the second course of shingles…
Seat cuts without trying to figure out the arctangent. Always a win
100%
well detailed vid, gracias familia!
Thank you!!!
This is amazing, thank you.
You're very welcome!
I cant give you 2 thumbs up for the video so here you go, THUMBS UP!!! THUMBS UP!!!!
Thanks so much!
Excellent video. Exactly what everyone else is saying. Very detailed. Just a quick question, on the website it says 8x12 but it appears to be for this 4x8 shed. The shopping list is for this 4x8 shed. We are building an 18x10 lean to shed. Any recommendations for modifying the list for these dimensions? Also, we will be storing riding lawn mowers and an old UTV that weighs around 1,000lbs+. Will this structure be suitable for these items? Thanks again for the awesome video!
Thank you so much for the kind comment. It should be pretty similar to build a larger shed. A 2x6 should be strong enough for a riding lawnmower, if you are concerned, set them 12 inches on center instead of 16. Good luck on your build.
This is great information! Thank you for these awesome videos and good tips.
By any chance, are there any plans for making a 6x8 shed?
I have a greenhouse shed next, and 10x10 after. I will for sure build a 6x8 eventually. Thanks for supporting the channel.
Excellent video.
🙏 thanks
Good job
Thanks
Hi, great video love your channel. I need to build 2 4x14 or maybe 4x16 lean to sheds with metal roofs that will sit on a concrete slab. Looked at Tough Shed very expensive thinking I can tackle this but I can't find any plans on your site for a larger shed. This project would make a really cool video any chance you could mockup plans for a larger shed? How do you solve for the water/rot issue setting the shed on a slab? Thanks so much.
Sounds great!
Thank you for this. Nice plan and great video.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video
Thanks!
This was great how you cut the birds mouth. This was an easy way to do it, I always overthink that. Not anymore. Question, why did you use a 2x6 or 8 on the sides and then only a 2x4 on front? You can see the sides hanging down
Thanks !! 2x6 is just a standard practice for sheds, plus it holds alot weight, lawn mower anything.
Awesome job 👍🤘🤘
Thanks!
Good info, liked and subscribed
Thanks !!!🙏
Such good info.
Thanks for the feedback 👍
What would be the height for the shorter walls?
Anyone know the height at tallest point? From bottom of skid to top of the back. I want to make sure it will fit where I want it. Awesome video!
Tallest point is a littler over 9’ tall
The best.
Thanks
Looks great. By the way how are those screws not splitting the wood? No need for pilot holes? Also, my local big box lumber store always seems to have no 12 foot long 4x4 in stock. Would i be able to screw two 12 foot 2x4 to make a 4x4 instead? I plan on using such piece of lumber as skids for my shed.
That is one of the great things about GRK screws, they wont split the wood.
I like the lean to for my house because I need it up again my house do to limited room however I want bigger than 4x8. Could you do more plans on bigger size lean to.
Eventually we will have many different versions. stay tuned.
Nice work mister!
Thanks!
Awesome! Thanks for the share.
Great! Thanks for watching.
Very Nice!
Looking to make a 7x24 shed next to my garage. Looking to get a set of plans and step on step instructions. Ill also be adding concrete slab.
That will be a great build... good luck!
Are you worried about water leaks where the rafter ledger is installed on the back wall? That wasn’t sealed. Why not install and caulk before you stand the wall?
Great job. Thank you
Awesome!!
Do you have plans for 12x10 lean to sheds?
It’s in the works, not yet. Stay tuned
