Walther PPQ M2 22 LR 5 inch - Excellent Trainer

In my search for a 22 LR pistol that roughly mimics the manual of arms for conventional striker fired pistols, there are a few names that pop up and some I have experience with. The Taurus TX22, for all its merits did not work for me as it keyholed often. The Glock 44 is a Glock and not even a particularly good one at that. So, looking at Walther's offerings we see the venerable PPQ lineup in 22. I thought this would be a good platform as the reviews have been glowing about this gun and I already had experience shooting regular centerfire PPQs in the past so I knew the ergonomics would at least be excellent.
This pistol has performed quite well in the 700ish rounds I've had through it at this point. Accuracy is on par with regular centerfire pistols, capable of 2 inch groups at 25 yards with bulk ammo. Trigger is not as good as the standard PPQ but it is certainly not bad either. Capacity is nicer at 12 rounds versus the usual 10. The sights are decent but not ideal for target shooting. Reliability was excellent with the minor issue that sometimes the slide has issues overcoming the spring pressure of a 12+1 magazine and cycling correctly. Overall, for what I wanted it for, this PPQ in 22 does an excellent job and would serve as a very good choice for a trainer/introduction to conventional striker fired pistols.

any adapter that also works for:
Walther P22
Walther/Colt 1911-22
Walther PPK 22
If you google search for any of those you will find a lot of places and brands that sell them, just be sure not to lose the wrench as you will absolutely need it

Where 2 inch groups are ok for most I try for 1 inch or better and I usually get it with my pistols because I’m anal retentive 😂 and I love improving my firearms as you know. That is a fine looking pistol buy a quality maker. Try some ely ammunition in it or some hollow points it may improve your accuracy.
