Milwaukee M18 FUEL Dual Battery Backpack Blower Kit: Power Meets Comfort (But Watch the Runtime)
The Milwaukee M18 FUEL Dual Battery Backpack Blower Kit (model 3009-24HD) is a serious contender for professional landscapers and property managers. This cordless beast boasts impressive blowing force that rivals even some mid-range commercial gas-powered models. Here's a closer look at why this blower might be a great fit for your needs:
Impressive Power Without the Gas Hassle
Milwaukee's POWERSTATE brushless motor delivers a forceful punch - a constant 650 CFM air volume at 155 MPH. This translates to clearing leaves, debris, and even light snow with ease. No more wrestling with pull cords or dealing with gas cans - just pop in your M18 REDLITHIUM batteries and get to work.
Comfortable Design for Extended Use
The backpack blower features a fully adjustable harness, distributing the weight evenly across your back and shoulders. This makes a huge difference for those long clearing sessions, especially when compared to a traditional handheld blower.
Reduced Noise Levels
With a noise level of only 62 dB, the Milwaukee M18 FUEL is significantly quieter than many gas-powered backpack blowers. This is a major benefit for professionals working in noise-sensitive areas or those who simply appreciate a quieter work environment.
Consideration: Runtime
While the M18 FUEL boasts exceptional power, it's important to factor in runtime. The blower requires at least two M18 REDLITHIUM batteries for operation, and Milwaukee recommends using their M18 REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT batteries to maximize runtime. Even with these high-output batteries, runtime can be a concern for larger properties or extensive clearing jobs. Having extra batteries on hand is a must to avoid interruption.
The Verdict
The Milwaukee M18 FUEL Dual Battery Backpack Blower Kit is a powerful and comfortable option for professional landscapers and property managers. The cordless design eliminates the hassle of gas, and the backpack design makes extended use more comfortable. However, be mindful of the runtime limitations, especially for larger areas. If runtime is a major concern, you may also want to consider gas-powered alternatives.
$1500 bucks for the kit with 4 batteries, no thanks, for $250, a 2-stroke leaf blower will run for hours and get more work done. Let's make gas leaf blowers great again 😄😄
As a homeowner I use battery powered OPE (Ego brand) and it works great, but I don't believe battery powered OPE is feasible for a pro. Run time and cost are the biggest issues in my opinion.
Few comments on his switching over to milwaukee for OPE video has people saying they use EGO for exactly the application you think it's not feasible for.
Something as large as this, that holds that many batteries should double as a charger.
that kind of a neat idea. how come milwaukee didn't think of it?
Agree. It would add weight, but would be nice.
@@nopenope7088 Tool companies are slow walking bringing that kind of thing to the market. For instance, their power stations all are using Lithium Ion internal batteries or even worse, their own power tool batteries. All the companies that specialize in those products have moved to LiFePO4 chemistry batteries.
The number of charge cycles for LiFePO4 batteries is measured in the thousands. Lithium Ion charge cycles are measured in the hundreds.
That tool really blows.
For $1,500?! Might as well use a broom ⚡️
if it's like any milwaukee tool, it's probably going to need a warranty claim
Very helpful, thanks. Some battery-powered applications just suck the power out of batteries and blowers are one of those. I admit I'm not up to speed (sorry for the pun) on Forge batteries...are Forge batteries going to produce longer runtimes, or do they only allow a faster discharge rate?
Forge batteries allow for a faster discharge rate.
I feel milwaukee should have made this on a mx platform
How many people are invested in the MX batteries though?
@@WorkshopAddict yes you correct about that not many are invested on the mx platform
They work on it
Great review! I enjoy your videos! Like you said, it would be good to use around business's or maybe early residential customers because its a little quieter. Its not strong enough, doesn't have enough run time and cost way too much. Ill stick with Echo 9010.
Thank you!
For fall leaf clean up that thing needs way more power and run time. Any wet leaves will over task this blower.
I agree, and I do say that in the video.
Is this stronger than EGO 765 blower?
This is rated at 650 cfm, so no.
more power = less run time lol.
The dewalt 40v was better
Thanks but no thanks I'll stick with my echo PB 770T gas is 10 times better than battery for blowers
The convenience of battery powered tool is great, but most of the time in the UK, everything is sopping wet. I therefore will be keeping hold of my Husqvarna 580BTS!
been waiting for this review.
Sorry. I put some hours on this guy to really wrap my head around it rather than pushing it out with limited use.
Makes me wonder how a MX Fuel backpack blower would perform.
Maybe they designed it to run on the new 12amp M18 forge tabless cell batteries that will be showing them at Milwaukee pipeline event in a week or 2. They say it will extend run time and power
But 12Ah is 12Ah and wont extend runtime.
Can you please review the new dewalt 60v max power washer? Thanks
@@parkerk7018 will try
They told me that the release of an mx fuel blower is scheduled
NICE. I think that would help runtime!
How does it compare to the EGO backpack blower?
I have not used the EGO one since 2017, so I am not the guy to ask.
This thing is weak😂
Just buy an ego.
I just bought one 2 days ago i am very please with it ,well build , powerfull, compact works on the same battery i use to rip wood , this blower is a little beast 😍
The runtime is not that bad either , i look foward to fall cleanup blowing all thoses leafs it will be extremely fun hahah
