I have the alpine wra 209. And I would rather have this. Much cleaner install. Don’t have to cut apart the dash. To bad it wasn’t out when I did it. Lol
Hello you made an adjustment on video and didnt explain. First you install a "vlcd" cord to back of unit but a bit later is see that you installed the blue cable instead
I just had the Heigh10 installed this weekend and have the factory OEM Alpine system. Is there anyway to confirm if the installer connected it to the amplifier correctly? I confirmed all of my speakers are playing. Also, any EQ setting you would suggest?
Jay, we hear ya! Wireless Car Play uses a different chip, which we hope to integrate into a future generation, but it's not available for this unit. You may have read some news about chip availability recently. The great thing is we provide a dedicated port in the dual USB that you can easily tether your device and control Apple Car Play from the large 10 inch screen.
What keeps me from buying is the lack of a obd2 piggyback that reads system information such as tire pressure, transmission and coolant temperature, etc.
He says if it's not the alpine amped system not to plug in for amplified, I have the infinity sound system with factory amp. Should I plug it in with the non amplified plug
We were told by Stinger that it is the Alpine system that needs the amplified circuit plugged in. Ours had the Infinity system with the small amp under the steering column and it wouldn't run the front speakers when plugged into the amplified circuit. When we switched it over to the non-amplified circuit it works great and sounds better than stock.

Stinger says their system retains all vehicle controls. We didn't test the dimming functions. You can also control the display brightness through the Stinger setting tile. We tried that and it works great.
Great video, very informative and helped me with the install. I added the stinger blind spot cameras and would love to have them trigger on activation of the turn signals. I saw some wires on the harness that are for camera triggers and Stinger confirmed it can be done but they don't have a tutorial for it. Do you guys have a video on how to tap into the turn signals to trigger the blind spot cameras? Thank you!
@@austindonahue5102 I took my Jeep to @trafficjamsmotorsports and they were able to figured it out. I believe the way they did it was by tapping into the front turning signals and not through the VCM.
I just did the install and maybe I missed it but I don’t have functionality of my factory back up camera. Can you explain where that yellow lead goes for my camera?
Not sure why it wouldn't be working. Reach out to Stinger via their website, their tech people are great at troubleshooting problems. stingerelectronics.com
I have the large factory woofer speaker in the trunk . Would this tell me what amp I have ? So I can correctly attach the correct wire . amplified wire vs. the not amplified wire.
Steering wheel controls work on mine but I have to really push hard on the tuner steering wheel buttons to move radio stations. Any clue what could the cause of that could be? Steering wheel volume function works perfect

@@northridgenation My current alpine i207-WRA (ilx 207) that I purchased several years ago does that. I believe it’s becoming fairly common on head units these days. If I’m understanding correctly Stinger’s own radio does that on JLs, but not JKs or any other vehicles for some reason.
@@Gnaw85 The Heigh10 unit is the same between the JL and JK, just the mounting kits are different. Just emailed them asking for any info they have on OBD connections.
@@Gnaw85 Just got off the phone with Stinger, they said it's a CAN bus thing. They can talk with the CAN bus on the JL/JTs, but haven't got it solved yet for the JKs. They are working on it, hoping to get it available as soon as they can.
This really adds some style to the JK dash! Love the look!
We agree! It makes the JK dash look much more modern.
I am so excited to get my High10 system soon. Then cameras everywhere! Already got the rock lights.
Such a great install video! The step by step is so helpful!
Easieast install ever, now to do my upgrade!
Getting ready to install ours in our JKU today.
Great company with awesome products!
All while listening to Puscifer, excellant video and excellant choice in music.
Some people think there is only three kinds of music.... Puscifer, APC and Tool!
😆
@@northridgenation I can not disagree with that logic. 🤣😂
This unit would surely compliment my JKU. 👍❤️
Would love to install one in my JKU!
How gorgeous
thanks for the video, great help when installing my head unit
Love it i wana try one
Nice!
Thanks!
Great vid! 👊💥🤙
Thanks! 👍
replace the crack windshield, you hear!

If all your speakers are working, then they have it set correctly. On ours, the front speakers didn't work until we switched the amplified plug over.
4 video inputs with a 10” screen, Yahoo!
Puscifer! Nice 😎
Yep, we listen to all three kinds of music here.... Tool, Perfect Circle and Puscifer.... 😂
I love the fact that it comes with 2 USB ports cause mine didn’t come with any!
That's a big bonus!
Is this unit waterproof like the owm one
Does the unit work with the factory mic or do you have to use their external mic?
It does work with the factory mic, but you'll get better performance with the external mic.
Stinger, if you're reading this, the only thing keeping me from buying this is that it's not wireless CarPlay.

I was wondering something similar, if you have cameras in addition to this, will the back up camera come on when it’s put in reverse ?

Just curious my phone charges slow through the USB. It's there anyway to fast charge it?
Unfortunately it's only a 1.5 amp circuit, so not a fast charge USB.

Sounds like the contacts in the buttons are the issue.
The factory function was only pressing on the bottoms, I noticed once you install the Stinger unit you have to press and hold
@@Becauseoftwojeeps I figured that out as well. Pressing the button flips through presets press and hold will seek. Should've posted that earlier
