Can’t wait to watch your outlook on the 2023 year in Beatles and Solo-Beatles releases! Thanks for this view back on 2022. Ring Out The Old, Ring In The New👍🏻🍀
Sorry Andrew, but you have just made me cry with laughter when dropped the cd's. It'll be alright on the night has just got some new material!! Love your channel. Have a great new year. Regards Paul
Thanks for the top 15. I now have Yellow Submarine and GSH is on way. Happy New Year, Andrew. Thanks for your videos and listening parties. Here's to more in 2023.
Felt your pain Andrew with that drop. Never a good feeling. That R.E.M. reissue is excellent, have the two CD version, where all the B-Sides were included. Sprawling album, figured you were a big fan because I saw the CDs above your U2 collection :) Bought a lot of Prince Re-Issues this year, so it makes my own ranking very hard. Won't even try. Had a lot of good finds on CD at op shops. And finally got around to buying the Let It Be box set. And have been listening to Pieces of a Man since watching your video. Sublime album never heard it before. Thanks for the videos, and have a great new year.
That REM album is one of my favourites. When I first got it when it came out, I played it in the background while I did my university work. I remember thinking it was pleasant but not much more, but good background music. Then one day I found myself singing along and tapping my foot to every song and realised it was magnificent. So it took several listens but it then etched itself. Great stuff.
I always get a little sad when I see the Wings 1971-1973 box set sitting behind you in your videos. One pops up on Ebay from time to time but I'm not going to pay the obscene prices they go for. Thanks for another year of great content, Andrew. Happy Crimble and a Very New Year!
Thank you for your videos. Always out a smile on my face. I also want to say a huge thanx for the Gil Scott-Heron Pieces of a Man recommendation which I had never heard of before. I checked it out on UA-cam and hand to buy it immediately. Wow. One of the all time great albums. I can’t stop playing it. It’s an album that will stay with me forever. Finally, I really look forward to your videos throughout 2023. Happy New Year and all the best!
Thanks for the enjoyable video. Like you, I came across 'Tell Tale Signs', with the coveted 3rd disc, on eBay. Unlike you, my bid was hotly contested, and I paid a hefty price. It was worth it, because it's one of my favourite Dylan releases. Can't wait for 'Fragments' next month. I hope you're still planning to do a survey of Dylan's albums. Best wishes for a Happy New Year!
Love the diversity of your collection from 2022. Glad you were able to get the 8 LP All Things Must Pass set. Glad you mentioned the Gil Scott Heron release. Need to find a copy of that classic album. Happy & Healthy New Year, Look forward to your 2023 predictions video to start off the new year. Peace
Hi Andrew, nice to see ‘ the concert for Bangladesh’.. I bought a copy complete, box intact (although slightly faded) and all contents in lovely condition for an amazing £7.50 in a second hand record shop!
Thanks Andrew. Insightful and fun as always. Good reminder that I have to play my REM CDs again - I love New Adventures! Glad you didn’t break any of the Beatles breadbin jewel cases, as they are notoriously fragile. enjoy the holidays.
Spot-on Andrew, Gilbert Saint Elmo Heron (9 April 1922 - 27 November 2008) was a Jamaican professional footballer and father of Gil Scott-Heron. He was also the first black player to play for Glasgow Celtic. Always love your research Andrew 👍
Great video as always, Andrew. Loved seeing REM make the grade. My favourite of 2022 has got to be Artic Monkeys. Body Paint being the best song of the year....lets hope 2023 is a good'un for music!
A great selection there Andrew. I've just got Blondie - Against The Odds Super Deluxe Vinyl Collectors Edition for Xmas & I can highly recommend it. All the studio albums plus some amazing outtakes & bonus tracks/demos. Thanks for another great year of uploads & a Happy New Year to you.
Great summation of a great year for music enthusiasts. Thank you for all your great posts. I particularly enjoy that you provide a healthy combination of music/Beatles appreciator and collector. Thanks for keeping it real. Happy New Year!
Took a while for my McCartney 7" singles box (#1618) to make it to New Zealand, but worth the wait. No flaws and a nice timely "Christmas Kisses" as the test pressing.
Interesting selection and agree with your views on revolver. You'll need to be extra careful from now on but they were the 87 cds so maybe not too bad! Hope they survived the drop. I also have the REM but on cd and it's great. Happy new year. Allan.
Some interesting (and predicable in a nice way !) choices including the TWO Chilli Peppers albums ! I got the CD version of REM's New Adventures, their last great album (and the last with Bill Berry) - I know they recorded the tracks whilst out on the Monster tour which is why I always felt this sounded like a rarities retrospective as the music very much represented their whole career up to that point. Like your T Shirt too - I believe The Who have been working on a Super Deluxe version of "Who's Next" for the last couple of years and hopefully that will see the light of day soon ! You have a Happy New Year too. Cheers Tim
Nice selection of new and old. My favourite new albums this year were the Tipping Point -Tears for Fears and the new a-ha album "True North". I couldn't get into Julian Lennon's album. Some nice songs and beautiful moments, but not enough variation. With only "Lucky Ones" being a standout track.
Some of my top vinyl buys this year were, Chilli Peppers - Unlimited Love, Fountains of Wayne - Welcome interstate Managers, Beatles Revolver Box, Dave Davies - Kinked, The Kinks Muswell Hillbilly / Everybody's in Showbiz box set, and Tom Petty's Live at the Fillmore Box set. Also managed to pick up all the Nirvana albums on vinyl, always used to have them just on CD. Finally, I also got 10cc's Mirror Mirror, the only 10cc album I didn't have. Great video as always Andrew, hope you've had a good Christmas.
1) Archive collection will finally put out another two releases and it will finally be Back to the Egg and London Town. (I think the remastering of the songs on the singles box set is a give away) I look for that pretty early in the year 2) First box set remaster for Ringo as Ringo Ringo gets a well deserved 50 anniversary treatment 3) NO Rubber Soul-instead we get a 60 anniversary box set of both Please Please me and With The Beatles in November-both releases in one box. My dream would be a vinyl set which also includes copies of the singles and EP of the year as well. (It would be expensive buy you know we would plop down the cash) 4) Living in the Material World 50th anniversary release-much like All Things must Pass. Don't think anything from John but maybe a 50th Mind Games I just don't think so. Also no Let it Be release which will really bum me out Can't wait to hear your thoughts Happy New Year Rich
Fantastic selection. I have absolutely loved your videos over the past 12 months Andrew, fantastic work. I got Revolver remastered vinyl for Christmas, and given your review, might get the REM New Adventures vinyl. Keep up the awesome work 🎸🤍😊
Pieces of a Man... Despite selling much vinyl decades ago, I hung on to my GSH collection, which is just about everything he did. First saw him in Sheffied during the miner's strike 1984. Coolest guy I ever saw, and multi-talented. And his band, no longer The Midnight Band but Amnesia Express that had been solid since before 'Reflections', was on fire. One recommendation, even though you don't read much: THE BEATLES 1963. What a fabulous new book this turned out to be. 60% of the book is British fans' anecdotes from the time, culled by great research and just in time. There was a long delay in publication and since the time of the fan testaments, several of those fans, in their 70s and 80s, have died, so there's real pathos to this book as well as insights and amazing coincidences that fans share. It's great for research but even if you;re not researching, it immerses you in Britain 1963 like no other book - - and shows Apple how their super deluxe books SHOULD be done. No Gordon Banks lookalike should be without The Beatles 1963 by Dafydd Rees. Only complaint: font too small. Even the non-fan 40%, the day-by-day summaries, have fine moments. PM at Liverpool magistrates 3 times in a year for speeding. When PM gets 2nd speeding ticket, he writes mitigating circumstances to the magistrates, and you can see a precedent to his wry comments after a marijuana bust in the 70s when some of his plants "came up illegal." This time there's a touch of Spike Milligan about PM's letter: "There were ppl following us in a van so in an attempt to escape these ppl I drove faster and exceeded the speed limit. I thought I was still being followed when I was stopped by the constable. When I told him my excuse, he refused to believe me and told me that I had no excuse. He later asked what my excuse was." Fined £15 and £2 for failing to produce licence. One month later, £25 and banned. Wallasey Magistrates: "It's time you were taught a lesson." The lesson was his lifestyle was now too fast for Liverpool.
You really need to check out Graham Day's Master Of None. It really evokes the who sell out and given the t-shirt your wearing I'd guess it's right up your street...
you could cheat coz it's post career but the Beatles released two double albums not only in one year but the same day of course it's the red & blue albums. i love johns songs on milk & honey and thought if he'd been around still to the follow up to that album he would have been in super top notch form, and yea tears for fears great album happy new year
Hello Andrew and thanks for another great video. It was superb! Now waiting for your Beatles & solo Beatles predictions for 2023. Personally, I think that we will see a lot of releases in the new year, Why? Because the whole Get Back/ Let It Be extravaganza is over. Last year, the DVD / Blue Ray mess created uncertainty as to when they would be released, and I think that put a hold on other projects; they may not have wanted anything to get in the way of Beatles product. But now the horizon is completely clear. I think we will finally see the release of the final two Wings albums. And they will probably do another big box housing both volumes along with a special set , similar to what was done with Wings’ first two albums. I also thin that the Lennons’ STINYC will see the light of day. And there’s a chance that the Harrison camp could release Living inthe Material World. And possibly Ringo could be celebrating the anniversary of his “Ringo” album. And at the end of the year, The Beatles will most likely re-release Rubber Soul” as s big set. So in summary, I think that the end of the Get Back/Let It Be operation, now leaves the road wide open for the releases I outlined above. Let’s see how the year unfolds.
Good list - Tears for Fears album is great but you should revisit Everybody loves a happy ending which is another brilliant album.. clearly Revolver boxsets are really great. I was tempted by the McCartney box set but ultimately - I decided against it but am now it he process of collecting McCartney singles individually using E- bay etc and the singles I already owned - currently up to 35,,,, have a great New Year.
I've only got the #1 hits CD from about 20 years ago, a soundtrack CD to a documentary called Elvis By The Presleys, and a collection of really early stuff which I think was called Early Elvis Rocks.
Thanks for a lot of great videos throughout the year! You need to treat your records better and you should watch Parlogram's video on how PVC covers ruin your L's (I found several bad ones in my collection).
Andrew, serious question for you; how many hours a week, on average of course, do you spend listening to your collection of vinyl and CD’s. I only averaged 3 hours a week this year, one of my 2023 goals is to get to 20 hours a week. My wife bought me the Apple AirPod Max (over the ear wireless) for Christmas to help me reach my goal. 🎄 Happy New Year, looking forward to your new videos! 🎉
Great pickups I have revolver as my #1, also have about 5 neil young releases on my list. The jaco one is nice. They put out a live concert of his on record store day which is excellent. Pick it up if you see it. I saw him back in the early 80's and it was amazing. He's the best bass player I ever saw live, and I've been to quite a few concerts and have seen some of the greats. Jaco was mind blowing!
Hi Andrew , I have been meaning to ask you , can you recommend a good vinyl storage cube system to store my vinyl & box sets , I would very much appreciate your advice . I would like to wish you a very happy new year & I hope 2023 is a good year for you .
Hi John, the obvious one without spending a fortune on bespoke furniture is the IKEA Kallax, a few different colours and sizes available. Happy New Year to you!
Thank you Andrew. And that's a laugh that the Beatles bread bin is held together by gaffa tape lol. Are you saying that it was like that straight out the factory? And your Beatles CDs will probably need tape on them now that you dropped them AGAIN, LOL. Oh Andrew I don't know how many times I've seen you do that recently. But can you please tell me which pressing of Milk and Honey you have there please? Because it's one that I haven't got myself yet and obviously I would like to get the same ones you have there if it sounds so good. Oh actually I've just remembered you said in this video that you put links in the description. I'll go look for that. But if not can you give any info? Cheers mate for your year round service to us Beatles fans. P.S. I ACTUALLY WENT AND PURCHASED THAT PAUL MCCARTNEY LEGACY AUDIOBOOK ON YOUR RECOMMENDATION AND I'M LOVING IT THANKS. IT'S VERY LENGTHY BUT FABULOUS. HAPPY NEW YEAR MATE.
Cheers Craig, I'm pretty sure that what I removed was the original gaffer tape, I see no other obvious way that it could have worked! I'm sure they didn't intend/care for them to last over 30 years...
Die to overpricing by Universal Music ($300 CDN for the vinyl box - really?!?), I passed on Revolver…until Boxing Day presented a 20% off discount, so I finally bit the bullet.
Are you a Red Hot Chilli Peppers fan? I've never bought any of their albums, but I like some of their music. I am going to see them APR 1st in Las Vegas, because a friend bought me a ticket. I don't know what to expect though
Everything from Californication on in 1999 is really worth a listen. Enjoy their sheer musicianship, lovely melodies and great production by Rick Rubin🎸👍🏻
Why do put your albums in your sleeves the wrong way round. I have the album with the spine on the inside of the clear sleeve so you can just pull the record out. That’s just my preference.
I do it like that so I can pull the record out of the shelf and leave the cover in place so I can just slot the record back in to it afterwards, while being able to read the spines.

Can’t wait to watch your outlook on the 2023 year in Beatles and Solo-Beatles releases! Thanks for this view back on 2022. Ring Out The Old, Ring In The New👍🏻🍀
Thank you, Andrew! Love your content...and the comic relief is great as well. One can feel the pain in your face every time you drop a record!
Good selections Andrew. I remember when you showed the Beatles breadbin box. It was funny when some of the discs fell out.
The Peter Cobbin remixes on the Yellow Submarine Songtrack sound fantastic. It’s a shame this was the only remix release he was involved in.
He should’ve done all the Beatles re-issues in my opinion 👍
Sorry Andrew, but you have just made me cry with laughter when dropped the cd's. It'll be alright on the night has just got some new material!! Love your channel. Have a great new year. Regards Paul

Great to hear you've discovered this classic! 🙂👍
Thank you for the excellent content Andrew and Happy New Year!

Thanks Jake, yes definitely some Dylan album vids coming. I just can't fathom the reason why my Tell Tale Signs box attracted no other bids!
As long as it still plays,it doesn't matter if the album cover looks battered and bruised.
Many happy returns to you and your family Andrew. Always look forward to your uploads. See you in the New Year!
Great video. I got a bunch of vinyl for Christmas. It's nice to play records again. The vinyl is made so well now.
Thanks Andrew. Insightful and fun as always. Good reminder that I have to play my REM CDs again - I love New Adventures! Glad you didn’t break any of the Beatles breadbin jewel cases, as they are notoriously fragile. enjoy the holidays.

Hi mate Happy New Year to you & family. hope you are keeping warm over there while here in Aust we are finally getting our Summer back !
Got the revolver box set absolutely loving it
Play lots of music and a merry new year to you and your family see you next year 🙏
Please, never stop dropping things Andrew! I just spat my tea out laughing - You've made me Xmas. A smashing video.

Finally, I also got 10cc's Mirror Mirror, the only 10cc album I didn't have.
Great video as always Andrew, hope you've had a good Christmas.
I got Nirvana Nevermind on vinyl about 3 years ago, so much better sound than the CD.
The Beatles bread box is cool. I had a couple of opportunity to buy one. Maybe next time. I saw the vinyl version about 32 years ago.
Great video to round off 2022 Andrew......All the best to you and here's to a great 2023.......PS Did your bread bin CDs survive the dreaded drop 🍷🍷👍👌
Thanks Philip, yes all survived no damage done except to my dignity!
Aha..! The Beatles did release two double albums in one year.!! The red and blue albums..!!
Can’t beat a cheeky bid on eBay….had a real result with Harrison and Black keys this year .. real bargains
Happy new year Andrew, love the videos, keep them coming!
Mr. Dixon,
Wonderful video. Tons of great

Andrew, I've been waiting under the mistletoe for you. 💋
Merry Christmas Andrew. My album/boxset of the year is the kinks box set Muswell Hillbillies/Everyone is in Show business.Great set
I didn't buy that one. I got the Lola Vs Powerman CD box last year, really enjoy that album.
Revolver box set my favourite of the year, but the Blondie 8 cd box set comes a very close 2nd 🎶
Fantastic selection. I have absolutely loved your videos over the past 12 months Andrew, fantastic work. I got Revolver remastered vinyl for Christmas, and given your review, might get the REM New Adventures vinyl. Keep up the awesome work 🎸🤍😊
Thanks Andrew!

Another one of my favourite groups besides The Beatles is the Australian group INXS,its 1987 album KICK still sounds fresh 35 years on.
Excellent records. What Elvis Presley do you have in your collection?
I've only got the #1 hits CD from about 20 years ago, a soundtrack CD to a documentary called Elvis By The Presleys, and a collection of really early stuff which I think was called Early Elvis Rocks.
Thanks for a lot of great videos throughout the year!
You need to treat your records better and you should watch Parlogram's video on how PVC covers ruin your L's (I found several bad ones in my collection).
Thanks, but my covers aren't PVC, I deliberately avoided those ones.
Nowhere near as many as I'd like, or as I used to do. I'm lucky if I manage 3 or 4 hours a week lately, whereas i used to do that in a day....
@@AndrewDixonMusic yea, life gets in the way. I’ve committed to much less TV and much more music. So we’ll see. ✌️ Happy New Year! 🎆
I liove vinyl you carnt Beat the different covers some of the artwork is amazing ♥️vinyl
Excellent, wasn't expecting to hear from anyone who saw him live!
@@AndrewDixonMusic I wish my memory of it was a little clearer. I can remember bits and pieces. It was 40 years ago. You know how it is.
@@AndrewDixonMusic thanks Andrew , I take The IKEA kallax is self Assembly ?
@@BeatleJohn813 Yes but it's very straightforward
@@AndrewDixonMusic thanks Andrew
Take care when handling your valuable vinyl & CDs! I’m somewhat accident prone myself so I feel your pain 😂
Too early for a drink,it's only 8.56 Australian time as I watch this.
We need the Dob Dylan acoustic set
The logical Beatles release in 2023 is Rubber Soul.......following on from Revolver
Are you a Red Hot Chilli Peppers fan? I've never bought any of their albums, but I like some of their music. I am going to see them APR 1st in Las Vegas, because a friend bought me a ticket. I don't know what to expect though
I'm becoming a fan, only really been listening to them over the last 5 years. The show should be great!
Everything from Californication on in 1999 is really worth a listen. Enjoy their sheer musicianship, lovely melodies and great production by Rick Rubin🎸👍🏻
@@karstenpost1477 right on. Thank you
Tipping Point a fantastic record
Why do put your albums in your sleeves the wrong way round. I have the album with the spine on the inside of the clear sleeve so you can just pull the record out. That’s just my preference.
I do it like that so I can pull the record out of the shelf and leave the cover in place so I can just slot the record back in to it afterwards, while being able to read the spines.
Borrowed Time...
How prophetic was that😔
" Bangers" Isn't that what you guys in England call sausages ?
It is! Multiple uses, a very versatile word....
@@AndrewDixonMusic Thanks, have a banger of a new year !
Red hot chillies latest albums are very poor.
