@@dmitryyazov1561 starcraft 2 tournaments fills up arenas all over the world, aoe2 world championship was in spirits basement with his mom serving lemonade. Lots of growth potential as a modern esport with definitive edition
13:00 Definitive Edition has a new order queueing behaviour that is similar to other modern RTS games, where queueing doesn't imply interrupting a task that's already being executed. For example, if a villager is chopping a tree and you queue a construction, he'll keep chopping to its completion AND THEN go for the construction task. This is because you are appending to a task queue and not creating a new one like in HD, where you would queue a bunch of orders and then tell your units to execute them, but you couldn't increment orders in an already existing queue. In DE, to achieve that same behaviour, you need to order them to do something and then queue other tasks... Or you can tick a box in the Options to go back to the old behaviour.
Pitch for a new video: How to read the endgame statistic timeline and how to interpret these information. Especially the red/blue background are just... neat 4-coloured shapes for me. And the winner's colour fills most of the space. Yay! With definite Edition coming maybe the additional question: Are there differences?
The colours denote the share of a civ in total world population of the game. Lighter colours for villagers, darker for military units. If you have a lot of villagers, your light colour will be big. If your opponent makes a lot of military and kills your vills, you will see his dark colour grow while your light color reduces.
The timeline is just that, a timeline of the population of the "world". The lighter portion of each color is workers, the darker portion is military. SotL went over that in the video as well, though you would have had to extract it from context.
They are far behind SOTL's quality. Why are they even doing these videos? They want to do it fast, before he does? To steal this field? That sounds ridiculous.
The AI did grumble. It was only visible for a few seconds before victory screen but it was there. If you queue the villagers to do something after gathering resources (or while they're gathering resources) they won't switch tasks until they're done gathering. As in, when the resource they're currently working on completely runs out, not as in when they're done with their current trip. I don't have access to DE yet, but Viper talked about it in one of his videos. Otherwise they will finish the pile they are on and then follow commands.
You could have used the shift key to tell the vills to gather from sheep after the two houses were built. But I guess you'll need time to get used to the new features... Great video btw.
Shift queues up tasks now so that they'll finish the task they are doing before going to the next one, so you have to stop them from doing what they are doing at the moment if you went them to immediately go to the tasks you're queuing.
You can queue action for villagers. You can shift click on a sheep while they build the houses for example. When they finish building they go straight to the sheep. You need to develop the habit. If you do shift click on the first house they understand "finish the berries and THEN build this house". You have to simply click on the first house and then queue the rest with shift click.
