My XR at IOS18 sometimes feels a bit laggy, not sure if because of A12 bionic and 2GB Ram or IOS18 itself, seems like others with older IOS versions could perform better. The first IOS18 feels most laggy, but now I’m at IOS 18.1 and it is a lot better, upgrading to 18.2 beta soon so let see if it gets better. Edit: battery feels like no issue at all
My XR runs pretty fine after owning it for almost 3 years. Battery isn't at good though as my battery health is at 83%. I plan to upgrade next year when the 16 comes out or the 17 as I am able to cope with my XR at the moment UPDATE: a month after this comment I upgraded to the XS max as I needed to upgrade due to my battery and the XS Max served me well. Better battery life. I then upgraded to a 12 Pro Max and it’s serving me well currently. Much much better than my XR’s battery life and my 12’s battery health is on 89%. My XS Max was on 81% but battery life was 2x better than my XR’s. My XR did serve me well for 3 years though and i have given my XR to my sister as she needed to upgrade from her old iPhone 7
the xr is an awesome phone, no question, but it's getting old. i've had one since its release and tomorrow i'll be switching to a 14 pro max! goodbye to the greatest phone i've owned so far
@@dragxnnuindeed it is. I went from an 11 Pro Max to 14 Pro Max and I could feel the difference instantly. Biggest thing was probably battery improvement, speaker improvement and the screen. It did get a lot faster but the 11 Pro Max was already plenty quick for me
I had just recently got passed down my dad's xr to mine, it is STILL in mint condition even after 5 years and everything still works, no issues whatsoever. a massive upgrade from my previous iphone 8 and gaming performance is overall solid for a half a decade old phone. although battery health concerns me as it is on 78%
Well as a person who used XR from a battery health 100% it feels like the battery drains quite faster than it is so i suggest you to get your battery replaced.

My iPhone XR finally died after 5 years (The screen shut off recently and it never turned back on), it had a good run, but the last 2 years it was noticeably slower and the battery was terrible

But unfortunately I had to switch over a new phone later because it met with an accident (Screen broke, Camera Stabiliser raptured). But basic software functionality was still running along with the display. Its battery & network had some minor issue though if compared to phones available nowadays. But it’s far better than 6/7/8 series. I recommended it to one of my friend. And he still doesn’t seem to replace it for far more years.

I bought my XR brand new in 2020 and now in 2024 the battery health is at 87% but it still functions perfectly fine. I recently upgraded to an iPhone 15 but I still use my XR for simple task. The LCD screen instead of an Oled display helps prolong the battery life.

Anything capable of running the latest apps and getting iOS updates still is worth it. So that means the 6s and up. Which still gets updates and support for apps on iOS 15. 5 year old phone isn’t old anymore
I bought the iPhone 11 in January 2021 and now the battery is at 79%. I miss more battery but the iPhone 11 is still quite good for everyday tasks. I only miss more battery, faster speed, a better screen and better cameras including a good telephoto lens.
I think the iPhone XR is still a good phone I have it. it works amazing and The battery and camera quality are the best for my standards. My battery life rn is 92% after 2 years and 3 months off using.
I bought one last 2020 in Japan and still it’s perfectly smooth up until now. But one thing to consider its bumpers are not scratch resistant. Don’t forget to buy a good phone case. Performance wise it stomps 11 and keeps with 12. Can run high FPS mode on lots of games. Lastly, it only gets slow when abused. (Standard problem on iOS devices when storage is nearly full)
I bought one days ago my first iPhone I made my research so it’s still up to date to the latest iOS battery life it’s at 80% I’m going to replace the battery and the plan is to have this phone till the 16 pro comes out
I have 4 friends that still use the iPhone XR. Heck, I have a friend that is still using the iPhone 7. And I'm using the iPhone 8 as a back up phone. Moral of my story: treat your devices right and it will last longer than the average life expectancy, even if they no longer get software upgrades.

Battery health is at 83% now and one of the speakers is damaged but my XR had been running without major issue since I bought it. Don’t plan on upgrading until I’m forced to

Still using my XR today and everyday :) upgrading to the 15 pro when it comes out, but this phone will forever remain by my side as my lovely backup, a wonderful phone no doubt and is still holding strong even after over 4 years of owning it. The only reason I’m upgrading is because I don’t want this phone to stop working from everyday use before I get a new one 😅

I had s23 ultra needed money so sold it and bought cheap XR that needed battery change. I can tell that i prefer XR more than s23 ultra. Just my joice. I dont know how but XR battery lasts longer for me doesnt heat after 2 hours of usage. Camera also is decent no screen glitches ot anything. I had android for 18 years and first time on iphone. I will say 100%iphone is better for me.
I switched from a 3 year old Motorola android to an iPhone 12 and it’s SUCH a big upgrade! Better cameras, sleek design, more security, and lighter than that phone I had 😂

The XR has a great battery, if looking for an iPhone in the X or 11 range, definitely go for the XR!
Backup.. it has become the best option from 13 and a Samsung for wifi and my old xr don’t have any issues with what I need it to do.

my XR battery died quick and it was kinda gltichy/slow. After 5 strong years I switched over to iPhone 13 mini and couldn't be happier
I did love the 13 mini tbf
I had s23 ultra needed money so sold it and bought cheap XR that needed battery change. I can tell that i prefer XR more than s23 ultra. Just my joice. I dont know how but XR battery lasts longer for me doesnt heat after 2 hours of usage. Camera also is decent no screen glitches ot anything. I had android for 18 years and first time on iphone. I will say 100%iphone is better for me.
I’m using mine in 2024 and yes it did update the newest iOS 17

I bought it for close to the same price, nice to have a back up
I switched from a 3 year old Motorola android to an iPhone 12 and it’s SUCH a big upgrade! Better cameras, sleek design, more security, and lighter than that phone I had 😂
The XR is a dream come true for me I'm using a Motorola right now
I still have my 7plus actived, so yes, can most definitely STILL use a XR in 2023.
Right now im loving my new iPhone 13 I got for free because my carrier :) it was a big upgrade off of the 8plus

I always change my phone every 3 years but the xr was so bad I changed it when the 11 released 🤧
