    I'm 6'3 will the standard version work for me? asking since I'm in the market to buy one??

  • @RealRaw8
    @RealRaw8 Рік тому

    I'm 5'7". Should I get the "shorty" or the standard? Also have they fixed or upgraded some of the issues from the first production?

    • @Jeffrigerator
      @Jeffrigerator  Рік тому

      You could go either way. Standard seat height sits at 33" while the shorty sits at 30". It's personal preference, the seat to pedals to handlebar distance is the same either way so your riding position is no different. It's just how far off the ground do you want to be. I prefer to be lower to the ground for better handling and stability.
      And you'd need to be more specific about what "issues" you're referring to.

    • @RealRaw8
      @RealRaw8 Рік тому

      Thanks for the help. The issues are just the things people talk about in their videos. The limited turning ability, smaller gauge wire than "they" say should be used, the offset back wheel etc. I was just curious as I know there have been version 1.0, 1.5. What is the current version? Thanks again.

    Quick question...assuming we take premier care of our bike & battery, what type of mileage can we expect from our bikes? I'm currently at 8k in about 2 years

    • @Jeffrigerator
      @Jeffrigerator  Рік тому +1

      That's a good question. The battery is really the only thing that you can't expect to last forever. And they are generally rated for around 800 or more full charge cycles. The motor uses magnets to rotate so it doesn't have any kind of lifespan rating, it could theoretically go forever. I know of a couple riders that are currently have 15,000 - 20,000 miles on their bikes.

    • @B.Zee...
      @B.Zee... Рік тому

      Ok, that gives me some hope then

    • @dumwaldo
      @dumwaldo Рік тому +1

      your battery isnt going to just go bad and stop working. the number of charge cycyles a battery is rated for just means that it should keep full capacity for that many charge cycles. if you have 8k miles on the bike then you probably have around 8k am of charrge cycle which would be around 200 charge cycles. its very likely your battery is still perfoming close to the level it was at new. once you pass the rated charge cycles the overall capacity of the battery will start to break down. suppose you were able to go 40 miles on a charge with that battarey new. in the year after you exceed the rated charge cycles you might only get 38 miles of range from the same battery. 2 years after maybe you only get 32 miles of range. the battery doesnt just die.
      i have an 8 year old HEAVILY USED electric skatebord here that could go 25 miles on a charge when i got it but now im happy when it goes 18 miles. its just natural battery wear. the way you maintain a battery can also have an effect on this and improper maintenance can spped up this process.
      if your battery is going to be stored without use for more than a couple of weeks, you want the charge level around 40% to 50%. other than that your battery likes to be kept as fully charged as possible when using it.

Just remember to bring a jacket for the ride home at night, I’ve been caught without one and it gets freezing when your moving fast lol

    Sucks that battery is a pain to get in and out... For people who have to live in the cold you can't leave the he battery outside

    • @Jeffrigerator
      @Jeffrigerator  Рік тому

      After you do it a couple times, you can take the battery out in under 30 seconds. Honestly the hardest part is getting that charging cable through the hole in the front. If you're charging the battery separately from the bike then there's no need to take all that time sticking the XLR connector through the hole. Just leave it stowed inside the battery compartment area. That'll save you a ton of time and headache when removing your battery and it'll keep your connector cleaner and more protected.
