I've been to England for about 4 years, I lived in a little town called Wallingford on thames (Oxfordshire), what a beautiful place....I fell in love with England and, after 25 years still miss it! look forward to get back again..and wanna buy a little house over there :), nice video anyway! thks from Italy ;)
Nunzio Nocera: Oh wow, yes, Wallingford. Its a dream, sooo much history.A family member lived here some years ago.I fell in love with the place. There was a castle there too, till that blanking Cromwell turned up.
I drive along the A40 road quite often, heading westwards from Oxford to Cheltenham, and pass close by to Burford - had meals in a certain pub just outside of Burford several times. Soon after Burford you leave Oxfordshire andf enter Gloucestershire, the main "home" of the Cotswold region. I love those roadsigns near Burford which indicate the way to "The Rissingtons" & "The Barringtons" - no, they are not families, they refer to FOUR separate little villages all close to each other in a cluster - Great Rissington, LIttle Rissington, Great Barrington and Little Barrington. I really love all the intriguing place names of all the many very picturesque villages and small towns in the entire Cotswold Hills area of our lovely little England.
Thanks Jonathan. You've brought back to me fond memories of time spent in the Oxfordshire places you visited, as did I, when I was well enough to take the flying leap across the pond.
It's great to see someone express their appreciation of what we have. I, for one, often take it for granted. But remember, it's the people that made the place too ;)
Thank you for posting. Lovely places indeed. I'm in love with Cotswolds. I closed the circle visiting every region and some islands. It's my number one country in the world / I have visited only 52, England five times/. Every region is strikingly beautiful.
Don't let the planners hear that.I now live in what was a pretty little market town bursting with history.During an archaeology open day in the town, the locals were telling us about "Him"Who was council chief at that time.60s I think. They say almost singlehandedly,'He'ruined the town.Took backhanders to have the nearest city unload many of its 'dross'here, Which meant losing acres of land to build sink estates. And pulling down many historical buildings, some of which were medieval,to put up square concrete buildings & flats. Two examples of this, being the job cent. & the cinema. And the river was diverted,in order to build the most ghastly shopping mall!I read an old newspaper. This man confirmed that he would've pulled down every old building in the town if he could! That was an horrific article to read as an archaeologist. The new library is another square box.We only had a couple of days to dig, before everything was concreted over. Its so frustrating, because some interesting things were coming up.This town is ancient. The Cotswolds r beautiful. My sis was born there.I just hope someone can stop the planners before this beautiful country is totally deprived of its history & it's wonderful buildings.
no wonder British ruled the world, look at their country side, not only its beautiful , its clean, well maintained & elegant, it reflects a class & discipline!
Really now? The Greeks and Romans got to Britain way before the British, Brits stole everything from The Greeks and Romans FACT look at their architecture etc
I studied at Burford School just at the top of the Hill, and in the Summer we would go down to the river and feed the ducks, great place to grow up. We had our end of year party inside of the minster Ruins, I am quite lucky I suppose.
I love the Cotwolds! I always go there at Christmas and most years, in the Summer too. I always stay in Bourton-on-the-water but visit Burford, Stow-on-the-wold, lower slaughter etc. it's beautiful and one of my favourite places!!
I do actually live in the Cotswolds as yes well done on the presentation also the Gloucestershire Wolds where I am from one ought not to be forgotten as they are exquisite as well to be visited

But Angelo - you are Italian and I love your country, too! A lovely video and it's nice to see Britain through the the eyes of one of our American cousins. Many apologies for the vitriolic and somewhat intellectually challenged haters (probably unemployed Daily Mail readers!). They don't represent all of us I can assure you. Hope you enjoy your next visit to our green and pleasant land, and well done on this informative presentation.
Dave Huxtable: Agree with what you say other than your hypocrisy concerning Daily Mail readers, whom you accuse of being vitriolic and intellectually-challenged whilst using vitiol to describe them....people living in glass houses should not throw stones. Incidentally, before posting any vitriolic response, I should point-out the fact I'm not a reader of the Daily Mail.
Actually the Cotswolds area can be said to include a little bit of Worcestershire as well...a tiny little corner of south eastern Worcestershire jutting into Gloucestershire....the area around the truly gorgeous village of BROADWAY, nestling below the slopes of the Cotswold Hills. Look it up - Broadway, Worcestershire. Lunch in a 17th century hotel restaurant in Broadway was so excellent in fantastically beautiful surroundings that we deliberately had the same experience two more times, usually on our way to and from another very scenic and picturesque county full of black and white Tudor timbered buildings surrounded by orchards and the greenest of meadows - Herefordshire. Try both Broadway and Herefordshire some time - you will never regret it!
My dream is to visit this beautiful country someday. My ancestors were from Staffordshire and apparently I have family ties to Oliver Cromwell. Mark from Canada

Well we live near there, Cromwell's house looks on to his church, yes, he believed he was on a mission from God, to rid the corrupt Parliament, what we could with now! But as for your comment about Hebrew......Rubbish!

I agree: his comment is SO right! So, don't you think that beauty, elegance, and class deserve some effort from anybody presenting it? In my opinion, if one can not pull himself up to it, - one can try presenting some public toilet downtown.

I'm sorry but 'anglo' does NOT refer to Britain, it refers specifically to ENGLAND. You've made a huge mistake.

The video is beautiful but you spoil it with your fast talking....don't read from a paper, just comment the film as you see what we spectators see. :-)

I can take you to places in Wales that is certainly just as beautiful !
1ukjunglednbraver There are many beautiful areas of England worth a visit, the peak district, dales, vale, moors and wolds, that's just in Yorkshire.
Cornwall is beautiful too!
1 ukjungle, you are indicative of the ignorant youth of today, you have little or knowledge of our history and its country. Please refrain from making banal statements it shows how silly you are.
What about North Yorkshire Dale, also beautiful!
I just dont get the fascination of Burford for example...a few shops on a hill...why would anyone go there to see that ?
Looks to be very aristocratic.
It is but apart from the palaces it really isn't and if you have average income it is nice to live around that area.
@Bill Bergendahl: Yes, it may look that way but it really isn’t. I was born in Oxfordshire and we certainly weren’t considered ‘aristocratic’ by any stretch … lol! 🇨🇦
