Great video, this ac control valve is something nobody else covers. Everyone else just talks about the ac clutch. I got a harness pigtail from a junkyard car and used a 9v battery to test my ac control valve. In the junkyard the control valve would audibly click when releasing battery voltage. My ac control valve would not click at all. The control valve resistance was measured at 58 ohms where it should be between 2 to 7 ohms. Thanks a lot for this video.

I am working a 2020 Rav4 gas engine. I replaced the A/C condenser because it had a hole damaged from rock chip. After vacuuming 45 mins and recharge 1234yf freon with 2 oz of pag oil added, 1/2 can of freon. The low side read 70 psi and high side 80 psi. I just don’t know if the a/c could be the problem.
So does the little valve inside open a lot or just a little bit? I’ve done this test and I can hear the click and I have 3 control valves two brand new and one used off the old compressor. None of them allow air to come out of the ballon and I can see the little valve inside but it doesn’t move a lot.
You can also use a tail light bulb jumpered into the flow control valve harness connector and turn the A/C on and if the bulb lights up then you know that the computer is controlling the circuit
I’m looking into running a 12V compressor in parallel with this style of compressor to run while the vehicle is off. Would any backflow from that processor cause an issue with this style of compressor? Any thoughts on this setup? I’d like to install check valves at each discharge line but I can’t find anything other than NPT hydraulic style check valves.
My low speed fan doesn’t work . The resistance of it it’s bad . The medium and high speed fan works . Now , I’ve got this code B393B:04 on a Chevy Cruze 2012. Air conditioning compressor valve control circuit open. There’s 2 wires in it , Terminal 1- power supply that comes from the HvAC module Terminal 2 control - pwd control, HVAC module grounds t On terminal 2 , I only checked with a test light , it goes on and off , so it works . On terminal 1 there’s should be voltage supply from there coming from the HVAC module but I see nothing there , I checked it with the power probe. Haven’t gone into the module directly to see if there’s voltage there or if there’s a short somewhere . Question is , this voltage supply should be on all the time or does the computer turn it on eventually ? Or how does it work ?
My A/C running continously, this is VW passat 2010 so valve controlled. Any ideas?? Obviously is switched off. The fans will kick off when switched on.
2011 highlander new compressor expansion valve condenser charged to proper level using a professional robinair machine at idle compressor and fans come on a few seconds then stop. If u rev above 1000 rpm compressor and fans work ac works fine whether driving or sitting
Can I put oil or rust preventative on the the outside of the valve so it won’t rust while in the AC compressor? I seen the RKX ones rust that are sold on amazon reviews and that’s the one I bought.
A local mechanic told me my AC compressor itself was fine but that the control valve was stuck in the open position, but he still refused to replace the valve! I took it to another place that specializes in car AC and the mechanic there had no idea what a control valve is and claimed the compressor on my 2016 Hyundai Accent did not have a control valve! I pulled it up on an auto parts supplier website and showed it to him. How can these people be so ignorant?
