Thank you for the video... actually was working on a charger and they use the same radio... no signal when the speaker is disconnected... but you just showed me the path to success
Thank you my good man
Sweet ass video bro! Thank you for the great detailed information. I'm putting in a similar type system in my Cherokee.
you made this thing look so easy
thanks
Thank u so much for the valuable information I’m in the middle of adding some sounds to my jeep and like u said u had a little bit of issues I’m not planning on doing killer sounds like u did and I’m not using fancy in line converter but I’m not getting any sounds at all I’m gonna try to put those things u put at the speaker wire so u connect can see some values if not then I guess I’m gonna get the fancy loc and do just like u did i have watched your videos like a 100 times already lol great information and u did a great job can’t thank u enough!!!!
Thanks bro. Glad I could help
I have the exact Amp setup as you. Appreciate the directions bro.
In the exact same vehicle
New Sub here, I’m running the Rockford Fosgate 400.4 on my highs and mids. That Audio Control is the best.
Yeah just swapped to the 6th channel audiocontrol and it all sounds even better
@@BigStuDolla91 How can I get a 4 channel installed in my charger with that crappy ass Alpine amp? I already have a LC2i PRO powering 2 12s but the Alpine amp is sending a low frequency to the 6x9s in the front door. My replacements were pointless
@@quintonhightower6624 maybe bypass the amp by splicing behind the radio before the signal gets to the amp
Dam where are you from!? Wish I can give you my Jeep and have you do everything for me!!!! Lol good shit bro! Set up looks clean and sounds like it hits good!!!! 🔥🔥🔥💪🏼
I’m in Chicago lol
@@BigStuDolla91 shit I’m from Massachusetts that would be nice for me to take the drive but to far lol sounds great brother keep up the good content!
Sounds real good bro
Just want to drop a comment and say, make sure you buy those resistors. Make a world of difference. Go to your local audio shop they might have them. Thanks for this video bro. This helped 200%
Nice video bro. Definitely gonna help me install my own amps. Quick question You left the door speaker wired to the head unit or did you also splice them to the amp?
Splice them to the amp
Great day for a bass off!
Great video. Question do you think this format will work in a Charger with an Alpine system?
Yeah. U might want a 4 channel loc though. That’s what I’m using these days
Does it play well below 30hz and up to 20k hz? Basically, are the speakers you tapped into a full range signal? I'm doing a new setup in my 2015 limited and the last one I tapped into factory amp after its been crossed over and frequency limited so I want to get a full range to run the aunticontrol into a DSP
Yeah front two channels on ucconect are full range. Best to tap behind radio
What did you do to upgrade you battery? I have the same year
Did you notice a massive difference from the stock speakers? I want to power up my new pillar tweeters and 6x9s but im not sure how much it'll help. What's the RMS on your amps?
Didn’t have a alpine system but def a upgrade
Yes just read other comments, appreciate it!
Do you know if you found any positive switched power wire on the stock head unit, for the remote wire? But great install and really helpful for my install.
No. Most LoCs these days will generate their own remote wire for you
in my 19 durango i went with the 12v outlet source in the front of the center console
First off great video, I just wanted to know if I still need the 47ohm resistors if I'm using the LC2i.
If it’s the lc21 pro then no because it has built in resisters. If not, audio control has some resistors you could use that are easier to install than the 47 ohm ones from this video
www.crutchfield.com/S-iEgsO5PFVSR/p_161ACLGD20/AudioControl-AC-LGD-20.html?XVINQ=GZ0&XVVer=18W2&awcr=628226871294&awdv=m&awnw=g&awug=9021731&awkw=pla-837273191696&awmt=&awat=pla&gclid=Cj0KCQiAorKfBhC0ARIsAHDzslu1v6_Xt5xr_NUHn_wsqD8cTebEZAjlcZu77Kf9m7kGpIZXCbuouQkaAvpNEALw_wcB
Thanks, I'll most likely be using the LC2i. I love audio control products.
What about if I’m using the lc7i ? Do I still need the resistors ?
I have a lc7i pro do you know of I need resistors? Also can I splice into the wires for sound at the amp? Or do I have to install at the head unit?
Great video. Will this amp be able to power two rf 61/2 two way speaker and a set of rf 10 inch sub
Not enough power for two subs
What's funny is, I use that same song whenever i adjust, remove or add anything to my sound system.
Gotta pick something familiar so you know if it sounds off lol
So i ordered the lc2i pro and do i run it the same way? Even for the woofers idk if my 4 channel amp has a passthrough function for my second amp how would i go about that
Use lc6i or lc7i in that case.
Very good video. Have you noticed anything different at all, like warning chimes or hands free audio malfunctions? Also do you have ANC and if so, do you notice anything different with it? Thanks
I don’t have ANC but I’ve heard ANC causes problems. Can easily be disconnected though. I lost rear back up chimes cus I only used front two channels. Ended up going back and using all 4 channels
Everything works fine now
Did you just put front and rear driver together and front and rear passenger together and hook into LC together as 2 wires in each speaker input? Did you find.the need to upgrade battery, charging system, or add power cap?
@@abarker9323 no I got rid of the LOC and went to speaker level inputs
@@BigStuDolla91 bro great video man probably the best I’ve seen. Good explanation.
With using high level output did you still keep the dummy load resistors?
Nice lil vid my guy!...got a sub from me!!...👍👍
Ok thanks bro
Hey brother, I have two questions!
With doing this you pretty much are eliminating the factory amp and replacing it with a better one to get more power out of your speakers still running the original Uconnect radio?
I have a 12” sub installed, and every time the car is off and for example I open the door to get something; the sub will turn on and go crazy if I don’t turn on the jeep right away. Do you know how I can fix that? Btw you have an is Instagram account? Thanks 🙏🏽
Hey so I have the stock speakers system with no factory amp. However this would have bypassed it anyway.
I think u might have active noise canceling or something going on. Not sure but your picking up noise from somewhere. Maybe a turn on noise? I know with my system I haven’t had this problem
Any issues with using Bluetooth for calls? I just put the LC7i in my Grand Cherokee. I can play music through Bluetooth but now I can’t make calls anymore 🤔
I haven’t had any issues
i tapped my lci into rear subwoofer wires would i still be able to you do this set up?
Probably not. The highs and mids have probably already been cut out the system to go to the factory sub.
Did you tap into your stock harnesses for a remote wire?
No. The loc generates one
Ok I have a 2016 ram with the alpine system and it has the factory amp. How would I go about doing this on my truck. So many shops told me it can't be done because if the factory amp don't sense the speakers they won't turn on
I would splice behind the radio. The radio cuts signal if it doesn’t see a load, this shouldn’t be contingent on the amp. Just wire in a load before the amp.
@@BigStuDolla91 I wish it was a way for you to walk me through it. I have so many people and shops giving me the run around.i love the informational video and your feedback. I highly appreciate it.
Sick video bro. I got the lc2i currently just running the sub output to my sub amp. But i would like to add an amp for the highs would i use ur same diagram or can u draw me up one?
Same diagram should work. The lc2i should already have a “main channel” just plug that into the highs amp and set it to 2vhannel input. This will copy the input to all four channels.
Also, audiocontrol has “load sensors” that plug directly into the loc. I like these better than the way I did in the video
@@BigStuDolla91 okok, ya i figured to use the main channel for the new amp, since i had tapped into my rear speakers i wasnt sure if i had to tap into my front speakers to send to the loc as well
@@dnthateme559 I would tap the fronts. The front are full range so you get bass and highs. The rear have bass rolloff which means the bass won’t keep increasing when you turn up the volume
@@BigStuDolla91 thanks broski, i appreciate the info. Also the lc2i has the accubass to compensate the rolloff. U still think i should tap the fronts?
@@dnthateme559 I would tap the fronts. Accubass could never be as accurate as the full signal. Plus you’ll get a cleaner signal
did you add a second battery or bigger alternator? I want to add a second amp for door speakers....
Nope. All stock
That stock charging system is adequate to power that setup. I had a setup in my grand Cherokee before I sold it and the only thing I upgraded was a battery battery under the seat., now I'm about to do one in my daily driver, a 2013 Durango, using the RF prime r2 1200.1 and a pair of R2 500.4
did you happen to look into the Pac Amp pro AP4 CH41?i have 2019 Charger with Uconnect thinking of takng this route
Wasn’t aware if it at the time. But I hear it makes it easier
@@BigStuDolla91 ok I'll run with that. I can't seem to find any decent info for that type equipment
@@ceavalencia4767 I kinda ran into the same thing. Like I’m not sure if it gives you extra plug ins for the speakers or something? The downside is it’s vehicle specific so you can’t take it car to car in the future.
@@BigStuDolla91 the little I read it is vehicle specific. But it allows rca inputs for front rear subs and has a toslink input hook up for clean signal to aftermarket amplifier
Which set up gave you deeper base the kickers or the skars
The Skars. Easily
Can you just connect to the auxiliary battery in stand of the main battery ?
They’re right next to each other. The main battery is stronger so I would just stick to that.
Did the mono block come with bass knob or you had two order it separate
Came with it
Have you experienced a speaker losing power after connecting a line output converter? I tapped into my rear speakers in my 21' Jeep Grand Cherokee and now one side of my rear speakers is not providing any voltage. What am I doing wrong?
I haven’t had this problem. I would also suggest tapping the front speakers because they work better for this.
Wait why are you tapping speakers in this vid instead of disconnecting them?
It's really strange. After I got my system all hooked up, my amplifier wasn't turning on. So I took a multimeter and found one side of the speakers I tapped into wasn't providing any power. So then I tested the LOC with the speakers that were providing power by running both the wires off that speaker and the amp turns on. When I turn the vehicle off, the door speaker that was working and providing signal to the amplifier stops working and the other side (door speaker) starts working.
@@charlesturner2116 do you have resistive loads between the radio and loc on both lines?
Great video. Will I still need to add the resistors with a LP7 LOC?
Most likely yes unless it has built in resistors
So I have a 2020 Dodge Challenger with the base system. 8.4 Uconnect. Do you know if the same resistors you use will work?
@@zachariahisaiah1793 yes they will. If you go audiocontrol buy the “green” ones. If not, the ones I used in the video should work
@@BigStuDolla91 AudioControl AC-LGD 20?? That's what you talking about?
@@zachariahisaiah1793 yes
What are you plugging the speed wire to in the front
I’m splicing the wires into the speaker lines
Bigstuwop I put the 47ohms on both lines and had sound but it recently went out. Now my Jeep has no sound do you think the resisters blew I use a LC7i
Resistors may have blown. Audio control sells resisters that plug into the LC7i. For a Jeep they would be green
Ok thanks
how did you drill into the backseats? i tried and literally does not want to go in
I don’t really recall tbh. These days I have a rack a built instead
Aye family can u install my lil set up... how do i contact u??
Yo did your jeep have a factory amp if so where do they hide it what do it look like help 😢❤
hey i didnt have a factory amp. i loosly recall people saying it was in the rear passender quarter panel but i may be wrong
You used lc1 for both bass n. Mid amp? I was told I need lc6 to add a 4 channel with my bass amp. Already have the lc1
there are two ways to do it. In this video i used a LC1 and just passed the signal through. You can also use a LC6-/LC7i which is what i use nowadays
@@BigStuDolla91 lc1 still would work if I didn't want to buy lc6?
@@roblinprasad528 as long as you amp can pass through signal from the front inputs to the back inputs
Which amp do you prefer on highs
and mids Rockford or Skar?
Rockford technically should sound better but my Skar works just fine. I haven’t really noticed much difference and it’s like half the cost
@@BigStuDolla91 one other question, why did you go from Rockford amps to Skar amps?
@@mrmaxjr I was bouncing around between. I’ve had like 4-5 systems in this car. Rockford amps are the best though but cost too much for the amount of power I need.
Can a equalizer be connected to this setup
Yeah. It would sit after the loc and before the amps
@@BigStuDolla91 thank u
Need help with my grand cherokee if u got time got everything hooked up lc2i not coming on
Do you have the resistors in line with the speakers?
@@BigStuDolla91 iv got the blue audio control load generators an they didn't work. Also have 47 ohm resisters im hoping those work. I'm tapping the front door speakers. Do I need load on the rears also
@@user-wi2dt3ez1v you would need the green resistors. A load on all speakers that are used as inputs is necessary
Is the volume super loud on the Apple car play or is it normal ?
Nah, I actually switched to Bluetooth cus CarPlay never got loud enough for me

Doesn’t that Lc1 have load resistors for the Uconnect resistance tricking?
Yes. I gave the general process for those who don’t
@@BigStuDolla91 oh. Thank you man. That’s super cool.

Where’s the location of the factory amp??
I honestly don't recall
Do you like the loc option? Have you tried dsp? Just wondering if it’s worth the extra $$$. I am about to install 2 12” Fosgate P3’s, Fosgate P1000X1bd amp, Fosgate P1692 (6x9 doors), Fosgate R165-S (6 1/2 doors), and Fosgate R2-500x4 amp, and I’m just wondering if I should go the DSP or LOC route?
I like the loc option because all the amps have crossovers which is mainly what I would use a DSP for anyway. If I recall correctly the amps you listed should have high level inputs anyway so you wouldn’t need a loc
I talked to a few different people and they are saying I need one or the other. This isn’t the first time I’ve installed this system, which is why I went with it again. I’ve never used dsp or loc before and that’s why I’m researching and asking questions. I definitely want the best sound possible. What would you do? Should I do what I have in the past or give the dsp a shot? I am keeping my factory deck so that’s why I was leaning toward the dsp.
@@sexxxibecka28 I just looked up both of those amps. You don’t neither either at all. You can connect the radio speaker lines directly into the inputs of both amps. They’re built for that
