- A night spent wild camping in Musketeers Woods under army surplus canvas shelters. The German army Flectarn camo pup tent, and the Hungarian army Zeltbahn.
I also test out my new canteen cookset, from Pathfinder Survival
It was an amazing night outdoors, well until the heavy rain arrived, but thats all part of the fun : )

Great video bud, shame about the canvas leaking, I love my Zeltbahn as you know. Get it hung out or set it up in the garden and let nature so the proofing for you. All the best mate. I like the look of the pup tent too. Rob

The lavvu style tent you have there. I would of put a rock in the centre then tie off with paracord to two trees.
Then this way the pole is not needed.
I need to learn how to downsize my kit and keep it simple lol.
Can you please put a link to your water bottle and cup and stove set.

Great video Jay, some quality new kit, love the shelters, they must just need proofing, just a shame about the weather. Im definitely guilty of buying those beers based purely on aesthetics haha

Spent many a reenactment tent in both the German zeltbahn and the Hungarian tent. Always stuck a helmet on top of the pole to stop leaks
They are awesome looking shelters, I just need to spend a bit of time re-proofing them ready for their next camp. Great idea with the helmet too, bet that worked great : )

Great video Jay, I've got both of these and the German tent is better
The Hungarians used to put a helmet on top when they used a pole to hold them up to help keep the water out

try the Wilderness Outfitters cup lid on your Crusader you might be pleasantly surprised
I like the look of that German pup tent. But do t like the way it leaked lol my Lavvu did a bit better at the weekend. But even that still did leak a tad.
The German pup tent really does look awesome... but it’s just a shame that we can’t really use all these awesome old skool shelters in anything other than a light drizzle 🤣

As for the canteen set, if you just look up Pathfinder Canteen set, you should be able to find it very easily, it’s about £53, so very good value.
