You need to be able to not only read what the enemy is doing, but to also keep your rhythm steady as you prepare for it. FEVER is very strong and you should avoid breaking it at all costs, even if it might cost the death of a soldier.
Or a Pikmin spinoff game in the style of Patapon (Say what you will about Pikmin having spinoff games it would still be better than Hey! Pikmin, AMIRITE?!)
The devs are currently working on a spiritual successor that... I guess is kinda like a mix of Pikmin and patapon. But I don't think Sony and Nintendo want to start mixing their exclusive ips

Gorl terrified me as a child, not only that he charges at your patapons but the death animation is chilling to a young 8yo mind, The beast yells at the sky pointing its claw towards it and collapses dead but still tries to get up even after death. That shit gave me nightmares when I first saw it
Just a note for the queen karma fight, her attack patterns are actually highly dependent on your own. if you hit her while she is in the air, she will throw meteors, if you are close to her while she is on the ground, she will do a shocking attack, and... well, if you can, I will let you see what happens if you lose fever during the fight.
I also like the flatout unhinged builds you can create cause of how this game status system works.. meaning if have like idk 60% freeze rate with a bow and a 1 second attack rate you have a total of 300% (more or less than to a slight spread in attack speed) to freeze anything ot hits.. of course said unit did need to be able to be frozen tough

the biggest pain patapon 1 made me feel was when I got cocky while farming Dodonga and it swallowed my barsala, which I spent a good amount of time farming for :(
I don’t know if you still read these comments, but you should really do patapon 2 as well. It’s much more polished and has much more content with multiplayer. I think you could start from patapon 2 and get a great idea of what patapon 1 was about.
