Duh, one more thing the spring does not stop the gear what stops it is the ring between the synchro , what it does is that the selector pushes on the synchro and sandwiches the ring in between the synchro and make it stop for the selector to engage the gear. That's why synchro tech sells the carbon instead of just the brass because if u see the Oem is just brass in between that synchro ring so the carbon stop better :)
I have an 01 civic with a p5b 5speed and 2nd gear pops intermittently not alot but enough to get anooyed on a daily drive I have the trans out now and going to replace input and outputshaft seals and input bearing while im taking apart the trans ill be looking to see the wear on the selector gear and spring great video much love bro if I run in to troulble can i email you God bless.

Theng , good video, I have a honda accord with APG6 standart transmission the problem is that the cv axle driver side is wobbling bad and look like is part of the differential whats wobbling, the question is do I have to change the whole differential or can be replaced the bearings?
In your opinion, what causes just sticking gears? Got an M5OD R1 that started sticking going into first and second. Doesn't grind at all. Changed fluid and it was good for a week, then it started back. Usually working the stick for a couple seconds will ease it into gear, sometimes it takes a little longer though. Thinking of trying another fluid change, maybe there's some sludge still floating around in there. What are your thoughts?
kinda unrelated, but do you have any idea how i can clean the filter in my 98 crv's auto transmission? reason is, sometimes it shifts rough, and i've changed the fluid (genuine honda), checked the solenoids for blockage, so the only other thing i can think of is the filter, but according to the service manual, i've gotta take the transmission appart to get to it
so yesterday i had a problem with my car not wanting to go into 3rd and 4th so i took in apart and it was stuck so i freed it up so i put my s4c back together in neutral and bench shifted it and it went into all the gears fine and now it will go into 3rd and 4th but now not 1st and 2nd im thinking it has something to do with the shift change holder assembly any ideas this is the fourh time i will pull it back out and i dont know what i should be looking for thats causing this problem

Hey there, I'm looking for a used trans for my 91 civic dx, I've got a guy on craigslist who is selling an si and says it shifts with no grinds. How can I inspect this transmission before I hand him my hard earned money and reinstall it in my car to make sure I don't get screwed out of my time and money. The trans I have now is a dx was abused by a previous owner and it had enough, always ground from 1st to 2nd. It now dumps fluid out the bellhousing. How much do selector hubs normally cost?

Hi great video. i was wondering if you could explain some things to me. first off how does the selector gear stay in place? i assuming it is the combo of the ring on the syncro and the selector fork. my gearbox seems to keep poping out of second when its under load.(engine breaking) is how would i go about de buring a selector gear like the one at 5min in your vid. mine seem to have less damage then that. you say at the end of the vid to pop you an email. whats your address. thanks in advance
To jdm13btt: the ur selector sleeves are damaged and will need to be replaced. I should have some parts that can help u. Send me a private message. DO NOT FORCE IT IN GEAR that will bend the fork and damage it more
@0971204 most common problem on that is ur tranny ran low on fluid and the revers bearing seized up. so it will no longer engage. i have some i can send u send me a pm or email
no power shifting and ricer speed shifting this is what happens, if your gonna shift it that fast upgrade your syncros peeps this video is good but needs proper terminology

Did a rebuilt on my ls. Does not go into first and turns off and makes wierd tapping sound when clutch is released. Any advice?

The syncro hub unit on me 1056 is calfed lad... she'll not hold in high box , ill have ta split her lad.
