Like Danielle Smith, Wab should be focussed on real revenue by selling our resources and attracting big businesses

Why wasn't our 7 years of PC government also focused on this? If we have so much wealth underground that can be dug up and it will benefit the provincial economy and coffers, why hasn't any government of any stripe done this?

@@DrNutbag It's very simple. The more you develop your own resources the less you receive in federal transfer payments. So in the eyes of political parties, they can avoid the political risk of developing resources and reap increasing federal transfers at the same time. It's an absurdly flawed model.

@@smugdug you think that we aren't developing hoards of resources because it's politically risky? I'm not denying that there are hurdles in doing so, but I think that's an absurd take that Manitoba would rather just sit back and accept federal welfare rather than become a prosperous province IF such an opportunity existed. I think there's more we can and should do, but it's not like we are sitting on top of a gold mine and deciding to do nothing to take advantage and make ourselves wealthy. I agree with you that it would be an "absurdly flawed model. So much to that I don't believe it's true.

Then they should pay for the extra costs retailers have to deal with. Two months on GST tax break on only a few items

People love socialism, until they're told more money needs to be taken out of their pockets. (Directly or Indirectly through taxation) Of course you're all being told everything is free!!
So again Manitoba elects another NDP government for short-term gain! As usual they promise you everything under the sun. Everybody will get everything they want and we will all live in a Utopia!! The public health Care system will be perfect for everybody!! That's the line I keep laughing at each time!!
It's the reason why my family left Manitoba for Alberta back in 1971!
Best financial decision made in our family!!

Also, why are there street cleaners of all shapes and sizes roughly 8 months of the year? Growing up in Winnipeg they were cleaned twice!

Imagine thinking a gas tax coming to an end is a good idea. Even our conservatives are out of touch.

Maybe if the premiere would stop digging up landfills, they would be able to axe the gas tax. Use tax dollars wisely.
