90% of truckers were vaccinated and working hard to bring goods to Canadians which they needed. Sure there were a number of rigs there, but they represented a tiny minority of the trucking industry.

Oh, but if I remember correctly you generally still have in-order some acts after 9/11 which basically let gov to take hold of a person with no clear indication they did anything wrong and move them to undisclosed location due to some true or imaginary terrorist threat... Germany has institute which kind of bypasses the law - Jugendamt - which can do actions like taking kids away from parents without actual jury ruling and they also break the international law by not allowing child-parent communication in native language if it's other than German... There are many bright examples how things do not go all that well in modern democratic countries. Sure the reason for such things is clear - to act fast, eliminate threat, safe kids from abuse. But it's two edged sword. And if it hurts innocent ppl (which it DOES) it's only that more painful.
