Looking back at 2015, it’s wasn’t even bad at all for Nintendo, people only hate on it because of Mario party, amiibo festival and ultra smash, everything else being spectacular
2015 was not a bad year at all. In fact, I can give you clues as to which good games they made: -Squid + Kid + Paint = Awesome Shooter -Full steam ahead for this turn-based strategy shooter! -These paths are yours to climb... -A remake of my #3 favorite game of all time. -Don't forget about heaven if you like music and rhythm with this Greatest Hits compilation!
2015 was that weird year where they knew that the Wii U wasn’t really working and they were trying to develop the switch. 3DS was fizzling out. Technically they were in the middle of their cycles, but it was more toward the end. I think 2016 might’ve been worse.
The 3DS had some good/big stuff in 2016 - FE14, Planet Robobot, Rhythm Heaven Megamix, and S/M. I know a lot of people really hate the WiiU's seven 2016 releases, but I lean toward that most of them are "fine," with Tokyo Mirage Sessions and Twilight Princess HD being strong. I think at the very worst it's a discussion between 15 and 16.
One highlight from Nintendo's 2015 is definitely Yoshi's Woolly World. That's one of my favorite games of all time! I really hope it gets a Switch port someday! I'll gladly pay top dollar for it!
Splatoon still feels recent like a brand new IP, it’s so crazy how it’s going to be 10 years old soon and hasn’t gotten a spinoff of any kind yet, only Inkling in Mario Kart and that’s it, it’s impressive how Splatoon survived the Wii U, even more impressive than Fire Emblem being saved by Awakening imo which was an existing franchise since the 90s while Splatoon is a 2010s franchise. Fire Emblem never sold past a million for a dozen games not counting remakes and needed Samsh as a crutch all the way until Awakening, and even then the franchise still got bombs. Splatoon kicked ass right out the gate and is a multi million seller with tens of millions of copies sold across only three games, quality over quantity.
2:41 Not exactly true: to play physical Wii games, going through the Wii menu is still needed. Launching a Wii game from the Wii U menu is only for games bought on the eShop, meaning that it is limited to games which were sold on the eShop, and that games already bought in their physical version have to be bought again to be launched this way.
2015 was meh for Nintendo, but the other problems were the death of Satoru Iwata, Nintendo's copyright attacks on gameplay videos on UA-cam and it was from then on that Nintendo became a company that harms its fans and consumers with new CEOs [Tatsumi Kimishima (2015-2018) Shuntaro Furukawa (2018-current)].
Or maybe it could be our faults and the reasoning why Nintendo hates us The Smash Community, Joycon Boyz Charity scam, Weegeepie, Starman 3, weaponizing iwata's death, attacking casual gamers and a whole lot more

@@VampireKillerCrypt First of all, you never had the Wii U or you used the Wii U in the wrong way, secondly, you mentioned Ouya, Atari Jaguar and Stadia, and thirdly, sales do not mean quality, did you forget what happened with Dreamcast?
@arthurgamerpro6585 ummm I never mentioned any of those systems. I'm just stating Wii U was terrible and 2012 to 2017 Nintendo had no clue what they were doing. They focused more on trying to be "inventive" and how to draw new people in, rather than cater to their current fanbase they had. Wii was already borderline bad, luckily it had games that were good. Wii U was under powered, too family friendly, and lacked third party support. Dreamcast was leagues ahead of its time and much better than the Wii U imo. Iawata is praised so much, honestly the best thing he ever did was sign off on the Switch before his passing, rest his soul. Without his presence, Nintendo feels like Nintendo again, pre Wii years.
Yeah, Nintendo Wii U has some of THE Worst Games there is from fifthteen years ago, like Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Mario Kart 8, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric (one of THE Absolute Worst Sonic Games of All Time), Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival and Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash.
