Yeah man looking good I've got a 85 359 that I got from the original owner back in 91 still have it today drove it for 23 years been everywhere in it . These days I run a 379👍
The nice thing about a 359 is that there is a ton of chrome bling goodies available to really dress one up!!
You must have found some 55 gal drums of elbow grease on sale somewhere :-)
As a matter of fact yes lol. 😂 I had help though too.
Hey buddy good to see you an the Pete good luck
You’re right. Not easy but very much worth it. What a great tractor. Pete 359.
Big improvement already, once those big old fuel tanks are gone, that will make a big difference.
Looking good,Dane. You're living my dream. Keep the shiny side up. I love that truck!
Thanks John 😬
Really like this truck, hope it's a long term keeper. 👍
DANG. ! The Ol' Gal came out looking really Sweet. ! Great Job. Well Done. 🇺🇸
Especially in such a short time. Unbelievable. ! Keep up the Great Work. 👍
Thanks Charles … I’m feelin it today lol.
You've Got This. ! 👍🇺🇸
Love those old Pete's thanks for saving it from the junkyard you got the old gal looking good
Missed the show in Columbiana, had to work last Saturday, the Pete is looking sharp and I kinda like the patina
Sorry you missed it Mike, thanks. Maybe next year.
I really think you got the best deal in that trade...I bet that 359 will be an absolutely gorgeous rig once you get her all buttoned up,painted up and polished up!!
Very nice you nailed a long way to go and a short time to get there to the wall!!! Looks great
Lol Doug! That’s a good one. 😬👍
nothing better then the mad thrash days before a show, been there done that.
You know it Brother!👍
Just like me when I'm working on my models!!..Get so excited I've got to get them done 😆!!
12 days of productivity. Looking good already. Will be a stunner when you have done.
Thanks Neil! 😬

Dane you seem to find the cool trucks.
Dane, Great job getting well on your way to getting that sweet 359, looking good. You have all ready got it looking much better in a very short time Congratulations on your hard work
Thank you Steve.
Wheel color is killer! Love it.
I might have to do a video on the 1/24 Revell 359 kit I built last winter on my channel to give you some inspiration...
Just posted a video on my 359 build..Enjoy Bud!
Nothing like having buddies like Wayne with killer tools...coming along nicely..one thing about a pete parts are available...and not a quest on its own Merritt to find that one part
Great taste in music!
Thanks 😬👍
Dane good job bud bring my truck over for 12 day make over 👍nice truck
Nice ride Dean. There was a 359 in Winchester KY Back in the mid 90s
Leased to Atna Warren Oh. Looked just like the one you have. He parked it at the 96 Truckstop in Winchester.
I’m thinking this was originally silver with red top hood top, &fenders. Then someone added the black before it was faded in the hot southern sun.
And I just slept in Winchester ky the other day too
Really cool 😎 she has the original round headlights too!!
Nice Dane its shaping up. 👍😊👍
Hi Dane
One of the things that you can do to the chrome lug nut covers, the spikes is to get some maroon plastic paint, key the surface of the lug nut covers and spray them the maroon colour to match your lug nuts.
You could try to find the paint in a chrome finish.
Just a little thought to make the Pete a bit different to the rest.
Thank you!😬👍
Seen you at the show Saturday
“Howdy” from the O-H-I-O Porters.🇺🇸 What did I say…having a nice garage to work in, especially at 4 am, makes a big difference in getting this fine 359 transformed!🤩 I worked on my cabover until 8:20 last night & had to quit due to being dark & cold. What a great transformation already, Dude! I love the new melon clearance lights!🥰 I hope that the cap turns out pretty well & doesn’t need replaced when you get to that point. Having the wheels painted makes a big difference as well. That 1 inch impact sure made the difference. I just bought a 3/4 drive impact from Harbor Freight. Sorry I didn’t make Columbiana. My son was honored at the football game & we just couldn’t make it. Hope you had loads of fun there! Keep up the good work! 🥰😎✌️
Thanks Paul. I know your pain my friend, having to work around the weather and put em away for the winter with no way to tinker is why I built the TL. Where there’s a will… there’s a way. BTW what cabbie you workin on?
@@DaneScottsTRUCKERSLOUNGE 🇺🇸 I grew up having 2 garages, one having enough room for at least 9 tractors & trailers. YES, that big. 🤩 I missed the garages as soon as we moved away from that building. I do have a 2 car garage now, but it won’t allow any of our trucks to enter in. You should cover the TL sometime. I have an idea of how big I would like my new garage to be, but there are some limits. As a result of placing my cabover up for sale has made me tinker with it more & more. I’m doing a bit on 4 trucks right now, time & weather permitting of the smaller projects. So, the IH 9670 & REO are getting most of the attention. I’m working on renting a big garage to work on 1 truck at a time during the bad weather, but that may not happen. And when it pops up, we go do some Train Chasing in the area. I’m interested in those lug nut covers. One day at a time, my friend. Blessings! 🥰🤩✌️
The truck looks awesome! keep up the great work!
Awesome job Dane👍👍
Dane the 359 looks great what a find great job
Thanks Dom!😬👍
Joy Ride for sure. Great old truck. Found the right home for sure :-) Be cool to get some single pot headlamps with the chrome visor / eyelash [sure you can put LED light and high beems in those]. Makes the old 359's look like they have the grumpy old man face :-) Love the torpedo orange lights up top -)) Watch out for the mice on the inside top over the windshield. They like to get in there and pee on the metal [buggers]. :-)
Thankfully I found no critter evidence so far. Just wires….. lots of em lol.
The 359 looked really good at the Columbiana show Dane.
Thank you! It was a great show and weather too!
WOW DANE , that looks Sharp , your right about the roof cap , you got lucky it's not all rusted , funny how Peterbilt used steel caps on those and the rest of the bodies aluminum ???? , A + on the interior detail , Love what you did on the rear wheels , I've thought about painting my aluminum drives on my 352 Cabover but debated on doing that to aluminum wheels , mine are pretty rough and you gave me insperation to do the same , b.t.w my 352 is a hobby truck non working , Overall beautiful job i must say Dane to you and the crew that helped you , as always Safe Travels 👍👍👍👍.
Thanks Dave, ya it baffles me why the steel caps, just like the cabovers like the Astro and others. All aluminum except the doors that rust out🙄.
Need to bring my 359 over to you guys
Details, details… we need the poop scoop. 😂
Awesome morning Dane been waiting to see this rig !!! Did you find a name for her yet !!! Hope yall are having an awesome day 😀
Thanks Robert. Yepp… “Joyride”
@@DaneScottsTRUCKERSLOUNGE looking great for just a 12 day progress !!! I know you said that you have spent many hours on the Ole gal !!!! She's looking great !!!!!
Excellent
Thanks Mark 😬👍
Cool video
I really like the burgundy color that you’re painting the air cleaner and rims. The other day I was trucking and saw a Pete with that color and a black roof. It looked sharp!
Thanks Brian
@@DaneScottsTRUCKERSLOUNGE Boston and Maine locomotive scheme.
Wow lots of work done. I see your point on the roof lights now when you go to repair and paint it you’ll have less chance of messing it up. Like those style lights too, look right at home up there. The fenders look good on there. Was wondering how long those stubby stacks would stay on there. I like the taller ones myself, but I’ve got a stubby one on my truck because sometimes I need to get under lower clearances. Coming along nicely
Thanks Darren, I definitely had to get those stacks changed out and fenders on lol
You did an awesome job in 12 days, hope everything goes ok for the show. One thing I didn't like are the spike lug nut covers on the front wheels. What ever you touch turns to gold
Thank you, dang those rotten spikes! 😂
I think she's coming along pretty nicely especially since you're kinda in a time crunch to get her presentable for that show .
Love it
The Joy Ride is really taking shape. I take it the truck will be Maroon and Black once finished. Will you be doing the paint job yourself in your shop. If so can you a video of the process. Keep up the great work.
Yes Bryan I will do it myself…. IF I paint it. A lotta people love the patina look it has already.
@@DaneScottsTRUCKERSLOUNGE oh ok well cracker box already is sorta perinatal. That company is still around today. Using the same shade of green . Unbelievable. It’s your truck only you can do it as you like paint or petunia. All the upgrades so far have it looking good
Looks fantastic! Somehow, I missed it: What engine is in that beauty? Safe journey, Dane and good luck!
Thanks Mike. It’s a big cam 2 Cummins with Jakes but that’s all I know atm.
But she is a beauty and when you trade ..it has to be up!
Absolutely Ed but this one has my heart like the other two Jimmys. 😬
Maybe I'll do a video on my AMT 1/25 Transtar 4300 Eagle too!!
Just did a Video on my 4300 Eagle build too..Enjoy Bud!!
Was wondering why you painted the aluminum budds..instead of a sand and polished...were they in rough shape?
With me it’s all about do it and see how it looks. Paint can always be removed and they can be shined if I go with the polished and paint the truck look later.
@@DaneScottsTRUCKERSLOUNGE she looks sweet...you I am torn on painting mine as it's original paint..and new paint combined...can always swap wheels...that's the easy part...nice to show patina on the old girl
Where at in Mississippi did it come from? That is a very nice truck.
Not sure exactly they didn’t say. Doors say Holly Springs.
What a sweet 359 model Peterbilt🤩🤩🤩❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼!!! All those Western Star square hole wheels gottuh go 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 !!!
Ironically they helped draw me to this bad boy. Everyone has their opinion lol.
Are you going to take the sleeper off to paint 🎨 the hole truck 🚚🛻🤔.
What color are you going to paint 🎨 that Peterbuilt 🤔
Well my vision, if I paint it, would be crème with the iconic burgundy and gold stripes outlined in black. However the majority by far prefer the way it looks now. Many comments at the truck show about leaving the patina.
Ok ,well paint it anyway you want,10-4 my friend.
Good job............but already overboard with useless "bling" . I guess I was in Fleet maintenance too long.........and , of course, they weren't Peterbilts 50 years ago .
Oh Dan, Dan, Dan, drunk on Jimmy wine again? 😂😂😂😂
PAINTED aluminum rear wheels ?? UNSUBSCRIBE
I love your passion my friend.😬👍
I would have gone with straight pipes but it's a Pete she looks good ether way
