Would be fun to hear the answers from different neighbourhoods... heartland HDBs, old private home areas, new condos ...
yep, that's my idea also
OMG first video after a 5 months break! I hope you missed me 😅

Good to have you back!
Welcome back Max, hope you back with full of energy 🤗
Oh yes! Lots of content is coming soon! 🌟
You should interview locals whos doing labour jobs. It will be more eye opening. Even though we are a rich country/nation. Some locals are struggling to earn 2.5k
Hey Max! You're back! Looking forward to your future contents 👍
Great to see you back and it’s very interesting interview. Looking forward to see more of such video 🎉
yay!
U"ld really interview locals especially who are living in the heartlands to get more realistic representations.
Just happen to chance on your video! Really interesting! Haha love how candid you are and the candid responses! Subbed to watch more!
Haha I tried to! thanks so much
Hey Max, long time no post! Good to see you well and see you again.
thanks Roland! I'm fully back now!
Imma be frank and just say it out since no one else has said it yet, probably because they chose not to voice it out: This video really just confirms what us, locals, already know about our social standing.
I really wonder if there are indeed equal opportunities for locals to be in the top leadership positions of big companies or do we not have local talents capable enough?
Not trying to sow any negative sentiments but when the disparity comes across so obviously in a video pertaining livelihoods and income earning power which was filmed at one of the most expensive places of highest societal status to live in our country, I think it is fair to be vocal about it, especially when the video also seems to come across as a little "tone-deaf" to a longstanding problem that has been consistently ignored by the ones who are supposed to be serving our best interests.
Spot on
I would disagree. You are not comparing between equivalent polulations. You compare all Singaporeans between expats who already have been successful enough and have acquired the expertise so their companies see it valuable to move them to Singapore. Or with entrepreneurs who chose Singapore as their base to run their company.
Besides, any foreigner needs to make more money than the average local. Otherwise, he wouldn't get the Employment Pass, i.e. there is a pre-selection.
So, there is a certain survivorship bias if you try to make statistical inferences from this street poll.
I mean the Disparity is because expats are only brought in if they are of high societal standing, else they cannot sustain themselves here? You are comparing a small microcosm of expats to locals.
Great job 👏
Been waiting for your upload!
me too haha!
Wow what an interesting video. You are very brave to ask strangers. Thanks for this.
Welcome back! 🤗
thaaaaanks!
I didn't see any rich people here. Not dubai level yet.
You are back, Max. We know you, don't we? I am poor......😅🤣
Hi Max’ I’ve been waiting for your post for very long times😂 Good to have you back🎉
I’m so happy to be back! Thank you 😀
Ну наконец-то. Спасибо, классные места выбрал)
Generally, most Singaporeans are not very comfortable about people asking them their income. They will just give you a neither here nor there kind of answer when you pressed on. It happened to me when I was in Northern China. Almost half of the people I met asked me my annual income. In my mind, is it important as a friend or what has it gotten to do with you? We don’t judge people with that. On a few occasions, I just told them S$20-30k. They didn’t believed it. Actually, that already given them a reply.
tell them $5 an hour....
but only on a good day.
Earning S20k-30k a year?
In Australia someone on 200k a household is struggling to keep there home
yep.
its a good fraud the banksters and govt got going
keeping property prices artificially high
to keep people indentured in debt slavery to banks.
Maybe to Americans its a lot. In Singapore most dont make as much but some do and our house prices are much higher than Australia.
You are kidding! 200K is alot. The household must have 6 kids going to private schools! Average wage in Australia is 50-60K.
200K IS GREAT for a couple with a kid in Australia, let's say Adelaide....
Great video!
🙏
I like this series👍
Thanks a lot for the hardwork. Not easy to “dig out” rich people hanging around in the day. Try night time 😂
Try asking around the people in Jurong East. You will get a good mix of people from different social economic statuses depending on the time of day and day of week you are there!
Edited a typo.
Agree
$60000 - $100000 in Singapore poverty you don't save money and won't own a home , rent your whole life off government housing
A lessee to HDB you mean? But you can still sell your HDB and upgrade to a EC at least
@@lindc1070 the government own 90% homes it public housing
@@coopsnz1 yes I know. I live in Singapore, in pte condo but used to live in hdb. Now we rented out our hdb and are getting very good rental. So we are quite happy with this.
These people were very guarded. Didn't say much beyond basic stereotypical things we already know. Maybe try at night when they're drunk.
Haha good idea
agree with them not wanting to say much...disappointing..but clearly saw max tried his best 😅
0:32 - mate. the average cost of a house in sentosa is 13.5 million SGD,. no need to 'wonder' if they are well to fo
90% of the population in public housing how does anyone afford to own a home privately in Singapore
Unless you interview the guy who scratches the barnacles off the bottoms of their yachts 😅
@@ordoabchao4202
he's got the best and least stressful job of all.
Thanks
Thanks so much ♥️
he keeps taking away the microphone, why even bother with the interview 😆
Was my first time with this reporters mic 😊
i been jobless for 3year 😩

LOL...Singapore maybe rich but a lot are still medium-low income families
Lol, not very conversational, I wish people could express themselves more articulately in SG
wait,wait,wait............1:51 graphic design major, making $60-100k/year?
Are you from Russia?
da !
😸 cool~
cool cool 😸
After taxes in Singapore the poor on 200k salary .income tax " duties " vat " excise taxes why 90s of the population in public housing own nothing that socalism high taxation for ya
Well, you have no idea idea how bad it is in Europe...
Lol. “Let’s see the crazy rich asians” and then first dude to interview is not an Asian. White guy ask if can feature his dog, and interviewer said ok and proceed not to feature the dog. Who knows, maybe the dog is crazy rich Asian?
Yishun . Go chong pang
