    I just installed this kit on my 04.5 Ram with a Stealth 64 turbo and Banks CAI. The increase in power is amazing. Plus, this monster ram kit gives you more turbo whistle.

    It’s fed by 3” pipe so reguardless your intake can only flow 3” n to put a bellow in just before it hits the actual manifold loses all its pressure when it hits that large void in the high ram.

    • @raychilcote5558
      @raychilcote5558 3 роки тому +1

      Agree that 3.5" intercooler pipe would help. The loss in boost going from 3 to 3.5" is a thing. But also note that this improves flow. A sharp turn (old intake) creates turbulence. The curve to the Monster Air does help.

    • @1452-w3b
      @1452-w3b 11 місяців тому

      Yeah I agree but it definitely sounds like the monster ram was designed for better airflow in the sense of like porting a cylinder head to smooth out the casting for less turbulence

    • @Gixzer04
      @Gixzer04 4 місяці тому

      @@raychilcote5558agreed with both. I think it’s designed to be used with a larger volume intercooler with more capacity to flow.

    Had a quick question, why did you have to add the ground wire?

    • @TCSawmills
      @TCSawmills  Рік тому

      The grid heater is just beneath the pipe section. The ground wire adds an added level of protection against accidental shock if there was stray current from the grid heater. That's my guess.

      @@TCSawmills I’m looking at a 06 Cummins mega cab 5.9 in Miami with 170k miles. They want 14k but any tips to look at? First time diesel owner and might do a PPI

    • @TCSawmills
      @TCSawmills  3 роки тому

      Is it 4x4? The 06 megacab 4x4 with the 5.9 cummins is pretty much a unicorn and what I have been looking for but can't find at a decent price. $14k is really good with only 170k on it. I had a fuel rail go out on me at about 165k. It was #4 I believe and there's talk about it being somewhat common on the forums. The other issue is with the computer module that controls trailer lights. Has an integrated fuse that trips easily. Has to be reset at dealer. Also a common issue discussed on forums. Other than that this truck has been bulletproof. I'm at 260k+ miles on it and haul heavy loads often. I don't intend to ever sell this truck it's been my dream truck since college. O one last thing the stock radio is junk, I replaced it with an aftermarket one that plays DVD for the kids. Lifesaver on long trips.

    • @TCSawmills
      @TCSawmills  3 роки тому

      One last thing when they crank it up look at exhaust. If there's a puff of white smoke there's injector leak-by. Injector upgrade is a way to get a bit more power. But overall not a lot of issues with the engine. Check under body for excessive rust since you're in a Beach town. Also check color of Transmission fluid. It shouldn't look burnt in color if so it needs to be changed. A burnt red color could mean that temps got hot. If my Transmission ever gives me problems I'm upgrading it then more engine mods such as a tuner, injectors, exhaust and turbo. The current Transmission can handle the basic mods but if you really up the torque and horsepower you will need an upgraded Transmission.

    • @TCSawmills
      @TCSawmills  5 років тому +4

      Ok, I have done a decent amount of towing recently. The throttle response is quicker and the turbo spools faster. Fuel savings are very slight I'm seeing about 1 mpg. If you do this model you need to have a new intake to go with it as well to really see gains. Overall I'm happy with it faster throttle response and it sounds great, turbo spool sound is a bit more noticeable. So if you're looking to pay it off in fuel savings it's going to take a long time. I'm about to take a 1000 mile trip towing a load I should have more data in the next week or so.

      Still don't have a lot of drive time. I have seen about a .7 mpg gain in city driving but that's preliminary. I'll be towing this weekend so I should have a better idea. Biggest thing is the spool up of the turbo and more throttle response. I'll keep you posted.
