He got heckled by some people at the Barcelona pre-party (people were chanting Chérine's name during his performance). But in the end, he proved the haters wrong by getting Belgium its first top 10 finish since Blanche in 2017 and recorded the second-highest placement in the semifinal era for an entry submitted by the Flemish broadcaster (he also has the second-highest scoring Flemish entry of all time)

I’m so pleasantly surprised for Belgium. Wasn’t a big fan of the song at first but it’s really grown on me, and that final performance was so fun and anthemic. You could really tell Gustaph cared and it was wonderful to see him defy expectations.
