In day 3 of this 2021 Wyoming Pronghorn hunt, Randy and Mason start the day with donuts and coffee before heading out to find "Funky Fred". The search doesn't take long as the buck is only about 100 yards from where they left him the night prior.
Mason decides he wants to go after him so they park right off the state highway and head onto the BLM land that the buck is occupying. Mason sneaks within a few hundred yards and goes to get set up. While steadying his rifle, the buck starts heading closer and closer. Eventually he sets off in a full sprint after a doe who ends up saving his life.
They decide to regroup and are able to locate him on a nearby chunk of private ground with a group of does. Now the waiting game begins. Mason needs the buck to cross over onto public in the midst of Wyoming's checkerboard land ownership. After waiting and waiting he finally pushes his does over onto public and now Mason has his chance to fill his Wyoming Pronghorn tag. - Розваги
It is hard to communicate how fast a pronghorn is until you have seen it for yourself. Watching a good camera operator struggle to keep them in frame gives you a hint of the shear speed these animals travel. I truly enjoy watching pronghorn in the rut.
Daylight donuts are not the same as Jerry's. RIP Jerry. Glad to see you in the neighborhood.
Great hunt, guys! I’m looking forward to some 2022 pronghorn hunt video soon!
Loved the footage with the truck noise in the background while the buck chased that doe behind Randy. It was like he had rocket engines!
I always enjoy your videos Randy. The trip is always about friends and fun. Not a must Trophy.
Nice shot Mason! Fun hunt to watch. Great buck!
Congratulations to Mason on a beautiful Funky Fred buck lol. Great footage thanks to Michael and Randy. What a great way to pass the time rcovering from Hernia surgery. Can't wait for the next hunt. God bless.
You have priority over the Joe Rogan podcast this morning. I stopped it to watch this. Love this show.
great hunt as usual. Randy your cometary and humor absolutely make the video! great job guys.
that smile on Mason's face!
love the goat rut.....does say, hey we gotta get outa here, and the buck says, na baby stay right here....
Wow!! Never seen them run like that! Talk about footage 👍
It's just fun watching you guys congratulations Mason
Love that 270wsm. I have others, but can’t hardly bring myself to take anything else out.
.270 wsm really puts in work
Thanks Mason&Randy for sharing your story.
Forgot Michael was there too, thanks Michael.
Thanks for watching
Excellent hunt. Congratulations Mason!

I work out where you were at, I know exactly where you got that buck and I even know that exact buck you got! Congrats
Congrats guys, good show.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nicely done. Fred crossed that road one time too many.
Nice show, I hope I draw a tag next year..I got skunked believe it or not
Awesome!
You have unreal content, Gents! I love WY speedy hunting- from a guy up in Canada. PS- headshot? High neck?
Good shooting!
I love it........ where else can you hear Nature Boy Ric Flair
Hell of a shot
"Well we sat in the truck up on this road..." day three with Mason, we talked to this guy called Noah who's been building a boat....
wow are they fast
When you said 140 accubond I figured it had to be a 7mm mag or 270 win or wsm. A 7-08 or 6.5 creed doesn't get out there that fast! Being a manitoba boy I've never had the chance to hunt pronghorn but if I did I think a 257 wby mag would be the ideal caliber.
I would say it’s probably the 7-08 since Randy only hunts with the 7-08 or 308 except on elk where he uses the 300 win mag sometimes. I like the 6.5 for smaller game but Randy uses the 7-08 for smaller game mostly
@@edwardabrams4972 he shows the casing close to the end. It's a 270 WSM.
Yeah! 😀
Definitely interesting that the doe's knew that leaving the oil company private property wasn't safe, but for whatever reason the buck wasn't having any part of staying on the private. Randy do you have any idea why the buck wanted to leave so bad?
They are very territorial. There are no fences. He likely felt more comfortable in his home range that was mostly BLM. In a checkerboard area like this, it is common to see them moving back and forth without much regard for one or the other. Just depends on where the does lead them or where they push the does.
What MR pack and bino harness is Mason using on this hunt?
Randy, what binos are you using. It looks like they have an LRF in them and I didn't think Leupold made any with that built in.
Prototype LRF binos not currently in production.
@@Fresh_Tracks I kinda figured. Glad to see Leupold jumping in with some LRF binos.
Why didn't he zoom in on the antelope? Might as well slap a wide angle GoPro on him
A goPro would be a waste at that distance, any distance over about 20 yards. We can "push in" to get a tighter view with our 4K footage, but it's not necessary. The shot is framed very well and does a good job of showing the encounter.
What caliber
Great hunt... I had to laugh at how many bucks showed up offering to get shot over the 3 days... So now can you share where in Wyoming you guys where... At least what county? It makes buying out of state tags much easier.
Carbon County, I think Randy said it in the first ep
If he shares where he is all it'll do is flood that section with applications on the next draw and make it harder to get that tag.
Who farted?
