      @Online Empires So you can completely melt the wax resin in the casting with the melted gold?

    • @summon1456
      @summon1456 3 роки тому +1

      @@audiodawgz4260 you should watch videos on “lost wax casting” so what you do is you buy the 3d printing file called a “CAD” then you can either pay someone of buy a 3d printer and 3d print the file using resin has to be wax resin then you pay a jewellery casting service somewhere where you live called investment casting which is a liquid powder kinda like chalk if you crushed it up and mixed it with water, but once that powder is hardened they then burn the wax out over 10-12 hours and then fill the metal you wish it to be casted it like gold or silver etc
      Watch all his videos and listen carefully to properly understand stuff and then research those terms he uses

    Those are best hand made. I have made 4 different CASTED cuban links from 4 different 3d designs and they all coil and just never hang straight when holding one end, as one should. I even used one of the models showed on video, where there would not be enough space between the links to fit and connect another 2 links. Even when having designers make the cuban under specific requests, it still coils up.

    • @ramonvasquez3202

      Any update on this issue? Or no matter what is it the same outcome?
      Surely the bracelets wouldn't coil up will they?

    • @jdogg5543
      @jdogg5543 2 роки тому +4

      Handmade is the only way to keep thek.hanging straight and not coiling. This is why ppl hand make cuban links without a 3D printer wax file. And why hand made costs more besides labor time. It's just makes the peoce authentic and "real" if it hangs straight.

      You could technically send it through a rolling mill but you’d either have to have one yourself or pay someone who has it. I doubt this is possible with anything except solid chains.

    Great video as usual! At the end when you mention the Kitco Gold Pool prices it is worth clarifying that you only pay the shown price if you don't want delivery of the gold. As soon as you ask for physical delivery you'd have to pay fabrication and premium fee on top of the shown price. If you know where else to get gold close to the spot price please share with us since it is the main steuggle of small jewelry manufacturers like me.

    Thanks for another dose of QUALITY content!! A quick question- I see a lot of jewelers making chains by getting a rod and coiling, cutting, adding and twisting the links. Why would they want to go through all this when you can simply work with casting? Any pros/cons and limitations of each process?
    Also, what's your opinion on machine made chains (espcially Italian)? Wouldn't it be more economical to produce bulk machine made and then customize them?
    Thanks as always!!

      @@SlavaTVOfficial Totally get it, and your videos and content are amazing and very much appreciated! I was just stating that big boy (500g plus) chains are, or should be, made a different way. Then again I don't think most new to the game will be producing chains that have over $15k scrap value haha

    Cool, I wonder, anyone know if made by hand the regular way or if 3d printed links if it makes a difference in the quality at the end?
    Would it be as good or do they sell for less than if done the other way making your own links and twisting it?
    If anyone knows let me know, thanks.

      quality will be always better done from wire n twisting it, castings can have inperfections on the surface
