Trout magnets are one of my favorite bait for trout, panfish and crappies. Some of my biggest trout came from all white, Red and white and the color you are using. I just tie straight to the little jig and just jig through the pools. At times tough to cast but 2 or 4 lbs test will get it done. Great video again
Jason Beck Fishing I go weightless when I can but in North GA streams trout will gather at 4-6 foot deep pools at the end of a rapid so a bb or bullet sinker rigged like Realistic is how we do it to get the jig down, especially wading where you are casting across current. I never notice that the fish care about the weight if you get the Trout Magnet in front of them.
What an extraordinary piece of high quality work you put together here! This is just absolutely amazing and so informative! The way everything came together at the end was just absolutely marvelously done! Thank you so much for all the hard work you put into this! Can't wait for the next adventure! Jake from Maryland
Several years ago on the Elk River south of you, I saw a 25 inch brown trout that was caught by one of these. Immediately, I bought the pro pak size of the Trout Magnet. Never had been able catch a single fish with them. Glad to know at least someone else had some good luck with them.
I use the all white version of that trout magnet with a smaller hook, a lighter split shot and an ultra-light rig with 2lb line. I also don't let it drift. From the second it hits the water, I'll slowly reel it back in. You want the tail to wiggle as much as possible. Ideally you want to get as close to the center of the stream as possible and go from the edge towards the middle. I've caught hundreds of trout over the years with that simple setup and technique..
Holy crap I'm putting together a package for you with some of these lures, along with crappie magnets, crappie slab magnets, crappie curly slabs, jigs, floats, trout Slayer kit and some other goodies. Beautiful fish, love the content, keep it realistic.
TM on a 1/64 jighead with 2lb or 4lb test line is extremely effective, with or without the float. If you need to increase your casting distance just add a spit shot just below the float.
Trout magnets are by far my favorite lure. They catch everything. I've caught more bass on them than any other lures probably. Also, the crappie magnets are basically a slightly bigger version of those so it tends to weed out smaller fish. I've also never not used them with the trout magnet jig so that was interesting to see. I use the jig for so many other lures as well. It's great.
Trout Magnet perfect set up bro, 2 lb mono backing w/2 lb fluorocarbon leader on the gold trout magnet jig head Trout Magnet adjustable float bobber just above the leader knot ( 12" - 15" ) up Dark/neon green, Yellow or white all kill them at any time. Just cast upstream and let it dead float back down past you! You wont snag up like that all the time, no weight needed. Never fails me up here in Pennsylvania! Great Video!
Legend has it that fly fisherman has been there fishing since the last trout video. Srsly though.. when I fish bodies of water off the side of the road I'm always thinking as I'm walking back to my vehicle.. "Am I gonna find my windows busted." Luckily that hasn't been the case thus far.. *knocking on wood.
One of the great all time trout lures. First saw them used by EPF Leo himself. Bought some and they have been in my arsenal ever since. Nice haul of Trout!
Hells yeah brother. Awesome rainbows there. You did exactly what you set out to do and it paid off. They seemed to love those trout magnets. Tight lines and sharp hatchets 🎣🔪
Awesome catches! I used trout magnets as per your recommendation for the first time today at my local creek & caught 27 fish in two hrs, mostly big Blue Gills but I had a blast, thanks for the tips Alex, such a big help to us newbies!
Hot pink trout magnets are where it's at. I use the trout magnet and trout slayer (#6 hook) jigheads with tons of micro plastics. Doesn't matter how much tackle I collect, it always comes back to trout magnets. Caught my PB bass on one.
Those trout magnets are a guarantee to not skunk at my local lake. Bass love them! Haven’t tried to actually catch trout on them yet but that’s the plan soon! Keep up the great content
you're the man. i still haven't tried trout fishing but i know of a few places here in kansas where they're stocked. just gotta do some more learnin' before i hit them up lol.

I am an avid fisherman and alot of the time when I see a fishing video I cant relate because I'm not in a boat nor do I have the money for expensive combos. Any time I can find something where I can learn something and helps me me healthy plus peer entertainment value is great. If you had 30 minutes on the outdoor Channel I wouldnt miss an episode
I've had great luck with trout magnets- jigging, dropshot, under a float, and even as the small lure in a tandem rig (I use one larger flashy or bright colored attractor lure and a small natural looking lure 8"-10" down the line). I've even used the micro trout magnet on a fly rod. Aside from live worms they have been the most productive trout catcher for me. I think the trick is learning which techniques to use for which situations. I think they are best suited for moving water with at least some deeper holes, but I have caught trout with them in just about every type of trout water.
Nice rainbows in the current. Trout magnets are an interesting lure, I use them for panfish mostly. The only trout I’ve ever caught on them were when I was using the techniques they explicitly say on the trout magnet box not to use. lol
Nice Alex! I had a fiend who just bought the trout magnet and he had great success. He’s wrangled in 10 keepers in the last two days. Those were some pretty good looking fish.
I feel like you ought to check out some of the official videos on the trout magnet on their website. They make a special hook that causes the lure to drive the fish crazy. A combination of that, a split shot weight (smallest size) with a gentle vibrating motion on the rod will solve your snag problem and double your fish load. The things amazing!
I think someone already mentioned it, but you can try adding the trout magnet floats above your pinch on weight. I have really good luck with the pink powerbait worms neko rigged under pretty much the same setup, float too. You also need to try Joe's Fly's, I have the most success with the 1/4oz ones, white or natural colors.
Do trout prefer to feed on lures on the bottom or can you float them? I just really hate snagging on the bottom so it's my last resort fishing method. I almost never do it unless I use weedless hooks
Nice job picking up my 7' ultra light spinning rod tonight. Looking forward to giving it a try with the trout magnets I bought a month ago. I hope it works out as well for me.
Man. You must have read my mind. Ive been planning to get the panfish magnet kit for the upcoming season. Fantastic content as always,Alex! Keep up the great work!
Nice trout! You should try it with a bobber and the trout magnet jig, you should have a lot less snag. It always work for me. Do not stop the good work!
Very nice as always! Just got my dad the new Zebco Bullet combo for his birthday, have to say that thing is unlike any other spincast push button lol. Would work great for the lighter lures like those Trout and Crappie Magnets.
@@RealisticFishing yea, he has some of the old made in the USA Zebco 33's from the 60's that he still used on a regular basis and they still worked great. Lately we have been more focused on bass though and that Bullet is faster than the lower geared casting reels so it works great for the lures and keeping them hooked. Very solid reel though and the rod that came with it is actually really nice. I told him i might have to borrow it some for docks when the crappie move in good lol.

I don't know but trout magnet is the best silicone bait in the world. The only silicone i have full confidence in. I catch more crappie on those than on live worms. They don't even have action. They don't jiggle too much. It makes me wonder how important action really is.
Nice! I bought a little kit of the panfish size a while back, looking forward to trying them out! Man, I have a lot of lures I need to try this year, lol!

Nice trout on the trout magnet. I've never really tried to use trout magnets for trout just panfish. Usually us inline spinners or salmon eggs. ? How many rod n reel set ups do you have. Just got a cadence cb5 matched it with a berkley emotion rod and also add a lews carbon blue get baitcasting combo to my arsenal. The point behind the question is the wifey says I have to rods and reels. All togethet i have 4 bass/pike baitcasting setups 5 UL setups 3 bass spinning setups 5 catfish spinning setups snd 4 catfish baitcasting/conventional setups. I don't think i have too many they all have there different
You otta try parking on the other side and follow the trail that takes you down where the river bends. Ive had alot of luck down there. Then again it seems like your doing just fine from where you've been fishing. Great video!
I dont like that side because I always see people over there. As I explained in a different video, people get weird when they see the camera so its best to just avoid them. 👍
I've caught all kinds of fish on those. I just have never caught a trout on them. It would help if I went t places that have trout though. I could probably throw that rig you were using, on a baitcaster, with little trouble.
@@RealisticFishing I've cast really light things like that before with casting gear. If the rig includes a 1/16 oz sinker, that is dead weight, and should cast good, so long as the plastic bait isn't really big or bulky, catching the wind. A 1/16 oz jig head with a 2" plastic, is a normal thing for me to throw. I have actually cast trout magnets with the tiny 1/64 oz jig heads, with casting gear, but not really far distances, and caught panfish like that. It's a bit tricky using stuff that light. Light shallow spools, and UL,L,ML rated rods make this possible. It's a fun personal challenge, for myself, to see how light of rigs I can throw.
I Love he's intro it really shows what fishing is like for real
We started fishing for bass in our trout fisheries here in MO because no one fished for them only trout- we’re smashing some monster largemouth.

Red and White are really good for most fish. Solid white works sell too for the pan fish. love to use them with light line.
Just used one today for the first time ever. I was using a 6 lb line and I could only cast it about 10 ft max.
@@troybaker8113 yeah I learned to put a clear float about 2-3 feet above the bait for better casting distance.

yes! I've thought about that! U can give it action by hopping it, like the trout magnet, but the bait itself doesn't need to flap that much.

I have maybe 10 entry level rigs and a few old ones for sentimental reasons.
You only have 3 to 5 for each type of fishing. So therefore you only have as an average of 4 rods.
@@RealisticFishing thats right, i forgot you had mentioned that before.
I've caught all kinds of fish on those. I just have never caught a trout on them. It would help if I went t places that have trout though. I could probably throw that rig you were using, on a baitcaster, with little trouble.
You might need more than 1\16 th oz. but it should work great
@@RealisticFishing I've cast really light things like that before with casting gear.
Wow Alex those trout magnets are awesome they Should make a tiny weedless cook so you don’t get caught as much anyway awesome video
I would love a tiny weedless hook !
Damb someone was on fire today. Just awesome.
Not too shabby!
