    You can wire this in series: K058 Vac-Switch, 4th Gear Pressure Switch, the LOCKUP Defeat Dash-Switch, and the internal-solenoid on the 700R4 - run it all to the 12V supply and ground the internal solenoid; Averagerod mentioned a delay and yes you can buy a vacuum delay off of Amazon and it will delay the vac-switch to delay activation by a few seconds; For the torque-converter to lock in 4th gear: the dash-switch is closed, the oil-pressure switch is closed, the vac-switch is closed .. and that sends 12V to the solenoid which locks the torque-converter; there are other ways to do this; in the example here averagerod is running this to manifold vacuum; you can also wire it NC or NO .. as you see fit, and run it to ported vaccum; the vac-switch is expensive, but it is adjustable and high-quality;

    Love your videos, you’re so easy to listen to. Can you make a couple cold starts with the view inside the cab and show us how to properly start a carbureted engine? I’d love to see and have you explain the process inside. Thank you! Subscribed

      I sure can. It might be anti-climatic, but I'll make a video of a cold start.

    So I saw that your TCC indicator light was on at idle. Is it the case that power is running to the TCC but it is not in lockup since the truck is parked?

    • @avarageerod
      @avarageerod  2 місяці тому

      Correct. And the vacuum switch isn't calling for it, so no power is going to the torque converter

    Do you have to manually shift it or does it shift by itself..?

    Every body talks about a "in-line fuse" but what size fuse do you need for this application?

    • @avarageerod
      @avarageerod  Рік тому +1

      I'd use a low amp fuse like a 5. Your really only trying to protect from a dead short and any size fuse is better than none.

    I'm having an issue with engine shutting off when put in drive or reverse does this switch have anything to do with that or can you suggest a fix

    • @avarageerod
      @avarageerod  Рік тому

      The switch wouldn't cause that unless for some reason your torque converter is locking up. Have you tried removing power from the trans and seeing if it does the same thing?

    My 2002 chevy calvalier started acting up after I exited a car wash. I got codes p0719 0753 0758 p1860 & p0135 my car runs but speed want go past 30 mph. What should I check and where to find the shortage is it in the break pedal do that runs to the transmission. Has anyone ever had this problem and which wire circuit should I find the shortage

    10 seems kinda high. idle vacuum is low. this means, when your on the freeway and you step on the gas just a hair the switch will unlock.
    seems to me about 2 hg would be better. just sayin. not criticizing.
    good share..

      I agree but tried alot of different pressure settings. I did have the problem of it unlocking alot, but the delayed relay took care of it.
