The Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog is a direct descendent of the Old Southern Plantation bulldogs. These dogs were mixes of southern working dogs like the Catahoula, Cur dogs, Pit Bulls, and Old English Whites. These dogs were family companion, ranch dogs, catch dogs as well as flock guardians. Today there is much controversy around the breed, if you're interested in an Alapaha do your research to be sure you get the dog your looking for. - Домашні улюбленці та дикі тварини
Having one of “Otto’s” pups, I can verify that these are the most protective, child, friendly, family, oriented, most loving, and appreciative animals on the planet.. been raising bulldogs for 35 years. And the Alapaha temperament is amazing.!! thank you!!!❤
Finally someone who admits that his breed has a higher potential for aggression than others, and that genetics can't just be deleted by "raising it with lots of love". I like his honesty. This is what all breed documentaries should be like.
Agreed, I'm sick to death of people who know nothing about dogs trying to say they are all the same.
Genetics matter.
animalobsessed1 I can't tell how many ignorant people i argued with about how gentics and the breed come to play, especially bully breeds like American pitbull terriers. They always try to demonize small dogs and even golden retrievers to prove that all pitbulls are sweet and innocent and all the owners were evil. I'm tired of "It's how you raise them" argument. Its half nature and half nurture.
Kevin Canchola
The ratio of nature to nurture is unique to each dog and the environment which it is exposed to but without question we have far too many people who leave the nature equation completely out of the final product.
Your dogs genetics play a huge factor in what type of dog you get. I purchased an old school OFRN APBT and do not expect to get a coach potato lapdog for my money! I expect to get a dog that gives me a 24/7 responsibility to keep his butt out of trouble.
And that's what I want.
I want to get a working line German Shepherd or Belgian Malinois someday, but i sadly don't have the time or space right now.
I was an agitator for my former Sheriff's Department. We used BM's our station dog was named Kaya and man those dogs are liquid fire brother. They are all go time. The difference between a BM and a Shep is very big so make sure you are ready for the maniac that is a BM. A BM needs massive amounts of energy dump, toys, running, attention, if you leave that dog alone and don't burn off his or her energy he/she will eat your house.
I keep my pits on a mill for 5+ miles of running each day and then the spring pole and they still want to go. Super high energy dogs like BM's need all that kind of work.
PLEASE DO AN UPDATE VIDEO ON THEM! He has to be one of the most honest breeders I’ve ever seen.
This is one of the most honest dog dudes out there.
Deadass I subscribed immediately he knows exactly what he’s talking about
And people forget that pit bull terrier shave terrier in there name for a reason. That’s a working dog.
True....even says what I have been saying for years.....the true game bred AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIER is the ORIGINAL Bulldog, the name is just fairly new (100+ yrs old).
I agree 💯 but then again it's his business to be as honest as can be.
This dude is 100% on-the-level about his breed!!! LOVE the honesty, respect, and dedication he has!!
I recently got a rescue and his first day, he had already adjusted to the family and has gotten protective over his home. such a great dog.
I’m glad I learned of this breed. I acquired a rescue 10 month old “Am. Bulldog” from California , and though I’m no expert , he looked way different than my standard American that I had prior to him . My dog looks just like Bubba. He is definitely a guard dog, very dedicated and protective of me … and he has one blue eye(:
My blue bully has one blue eye too!!
Best dog I ever had I miss you Clyde RIP buddy we all miss you especially me I got him before I even had my kids that was a tough one to let go worst part of owning a dog is to see them go
This man is staright forward and honest. Very good documentary video.
What a great responsible breeder, understanding exactly what he is doing and knowing what the dogs he breeds need in its owners. Really love that he is testing for the quality of the dogs health before using them for breeding. Shame more breeders are not like this and I wish him ever success in the future.
Haha I don’t know when there’s many videos of him doing illegal baiting with his bulldogs and the other founders of the association. Also the president has been exposed twice of dropping off his dogs at the shelter and asked” please put them down” search it up....
@@nickherrera1041 What is illegal baiting? Do you mean the bull and bear baiting like in old England? If there are many videos like you claim, then why wasn't he charged with animal cruelty and prohibited from owning dogs? Sounds like you are making bs accusations to me. In other words, you are a liar. Also, responsible performance-dog breeders put dogs down when necessary. I would not sell a human-aggressive dog to someone. Too dangerous and unwanted genetics. Show breeders put down way more dogs simply on the basis that they have unsuitable conformation, but they are still perfectly suited as pets. I consider that heartless.
This guy is an amazing dog owner and knows EXACTLY what he has and the responsibility that comes with it. Please do more videos.
I own an alpaha and I have to say it's the best breed I have had the pleasure of owning great family pet outstanding with kids but also as many say a very strong protector
This dude kept it all the way 100 on the history and the temperament.. dope video
A true dog man knows his dogs and isn't afraid to put it out their.
"I know what I have." Respect.
I'm honestly very impressed. I thought these dogs were going to be more of a designer breed. I was wrong, and I'm glad. Great work, becouse you are honest with people and yourself shows how dedicated you are to your awesome work.
THIS is the kind of breeders that need to be interviewed, those that are less about, like he mentioned, "marketing", and more about 100% UPFRONT HONESTY & TRUTH. No pussy-footing around and giving bullsh*t info. EXCELLENT VIDEO!!! I ALWAYS search out Dogumentary TV on any breed, before anything else!! You ROCK the dog info world!!!
I came here to find out more about the Alapaha, because they are one of the breeds used to create the current XL American Bullies, which I co-own, LOVE, and am getting involved into with breeding. Background is essential, and this kind of history, knowledge, and plain-truth honesty is extremely admirable!!! THANK YOU for this!!
I like this guy,his energy, honesty and knowledge of the breed and how admitted that some of the ancestry is unknown. That's true about a lot of these "purebred"dogs.
We have a blue blood bully and he is awesome. Extremely protective and always on guard. He is about 80# and 23 inches. Way stronger than he looks. Behavior is great with the family. He does not get along with other animals. We have a beagle and they get alone most of the time. One growl and it's a full on fight. We have to watch them at all times.
He sleeps with me every night. He watches on the family with great intentions of destroying anything that may harm us. Absolutely love this bully.
This is one of the old breeds that was used as “catch” dogs in the pineywoods south by open range cattlemen. A well trained catch dog could run down a 800 lb cow, grab them on the nose and through and hold them until the cowboy got there to work the cattle. They typically were not full blood American bulldogs, but we’re typically a cross with a Catahoula or Black Mouth Cur/hound cross. Catch dogs were selected based on form and were socialized and trained trained to catch cattle and hogs.Back in the old days, if one showed any aggression towards humans, they were put down. The herding dogs were Catahoulas , curs and hound crosses. You might have both catch dogs and herders in the same litter. They were selected and trained based on their form and tendencies.
I have one. We took her to the dog park from day one. She loves it. But early socialization is very important. As well as making a positive experience out of a bad one
if a dog could do the function that needed to be done, it was crossed. real philosophy.
My protection dog is 60lbs and it’s more than enough if the dog is very athletic. He’s a proven guardian and does some serious damage, more than a mastiff type dog twice his size would. 50-80lbs is my preferred size for protection dogs as they are usually healthier and easier to have in a family home. These bulldogs are awesome I would love to Own one in the future
Really outstanding video, well worth the wait. Thank you.
Loved his dogs and his ideals for the breeding.
That is my uncle! So proud of you uncle B! From Jamie.
Dawn Spevack lucky sob......
Hes a cool ass dude
do u have instagram or so? i need to find an expert i have questions about the AB.
give your email? ill send u a picture from the AB, im from europe btw.
Maybe your uncle can sell me one of these beauties. Lmk
I have an american bulldog line scott, it's puppy (3 months old), very strong, energy.. Excellent dog🐶👍🏻💪
I have a american bulldog scott mixed with boxer reminds me of a smaller honey boo in this video very energetic and athletic.
When he's talking about the origins of the hot Bulldog it sounds just exactly like how the American band dogs came about they basically took a pitbull terrier and bred it with what they wanted like an English Mastiff but it isn't too specific as long as if you breed a American pitbull with bullmastiff or American Bulldog something like that they're still going to be known as band dogs
Met this guy in person and a nice guy. He's not even with the ABBA ANYMORE. I've had my Alahpaha for over 3 years and the dog is amazing. But unfortunately because of the organizations I won't be purchasing another. Way too much conflict and unprofessionalism. Thanks for the video as always
True very unprofessional because many breeders (not all) are trying to climb over each other for money and name recognition and it is in that order. Beware of the Snake Oiled Salesmans.
These dogs are awesome! Bubba is beautiful!
Make the bulldog great again!
Thank you for the video, well spoken Sir! One of the best videos on here
they are really good looking dogs.
Bubba is a Beautiful Dog!!!!
only ever seen one in the uk with my own eyes.. very impressive dogs
They're getting real popular now in england
I like your dogs. Some people are using flat faced Brachycephalic dogs that can not work for long periods of time.I was always taught that, If you'd like a good Blue Blood Bulldog, breed a big Painter or Scott American Bulldog with a Catahoula Leopard Dog, and you'll have a working farm molossus, and not what some breeders are passing off as Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs. Please keep the Alapaha a true working class and able bodied bulldog. Thanks!!
Thank you thank you
I salute this guy
Awesome! Thank you for producing this incredible content. Looking forward to the Patterdale!
super production. thanks. alapaha are awesome.
I love this breed. So much I have three.
Great video. Honest and to the point. Refreshing!
i love when he said he knows what he has when he takes his dog to the beach he needs a mussel the reason bully breeds get such a bad rep is you get ppl who have owned a lab there whole life adopt a pit or some other head strong bully breed and have no idea what there doing not saying that all bullys are gonna be agressive to people or other dogs but you have to know what to look for and if u dont want that you have to know how to curve that behavior for example when u get a puppy take to a friends house alot leave him with other people get him even better if they have other pets food agression get a couple socks put on ur hand stick ur hand in there food they growl give a lil pop or if u dont want to do that get a can put some pennies in it rattle it when they growl my point is 9/10 times if you have a lab not to much work is involved some bullys need special owners for a special breed
Most pitbulls are people friendly but all bulldog related breeds can be animal aggressive and fight to the death, our dogs did. The American bulldog and the Alapaha were used and developed as guard dogs so they are more man aggressive but you shouldn't own any amstaff, pit or real bulldog breed unless you know how and are ready to break up a dog fight, get a breaking stick
Really nice! Love all those American bulldogs types. Thanks for all these fantastic videos you make 👍👍👍👍
I have an American Bulldog from a reputable breeder, etc., etc.. I have been a dog guy for about 40 years, doing mainly Schutzhund work with Dobermans. From my experience, I personally see very little if any difference between the American Bulldog, the Alpha BB, The English have a breed they call the English Blue Blood, etc.. These dogs are all good catch dogs and from my experience are all good with children. The only real differences I have seen is in markings, colorings. The bottom line is that these are fantastic dogs that are great personal protection, obedience and working/catch dogs. Depending on the line, some may breathe a little better and have better stamina but that is found more so in each breed rather than the different breeds. I am sure I will get some people screaming and telling me that I don't know what I am talking about and they have been raising their breed for a million years and they have experience with another bulldog type breed before this and they know it all, blah, blah, blah. These are essentially ALL the same fantastic, great awesome breed that are being bred for and are doing the very same work today. The American Bulldog's history is almost identical to the Alapaha with Johnson and Scott getting the credit for saving and refining the breed. Lol. can't we all just get along??? They are all great and generally will all respond the same to how they are trained and raised. I just wish we docked the dogs because I can't take anymore bruised legs, screaming kids and broken stuff thrown off the coffee table. Y'all know what I mean. Hey, love to ALL of our great bulldogs.......even that little thing that can't get out of it's own way, you know, I think it's called an English Bulldog, LOL, LOL. Looking forward to hearing from some people......but please, be respectable. Good luck and God bless.
I have three AB's. 2 females and a male. I agree 100%
@@pocketssmith5933
Definitely appreciate hearing from you. 👍
I'm new to dogs. Researching for future. I was thinking the same thing
Dude & his dogs are on point!!
I loved this one
I love this channel. Thanks for sharing!
so many beautiful puppies
This is a proper dog
Great to hear the dogs are being tested and you’re taking this seriously. It’s real breeders that understand the lineage and preserving the proper genetics to pass down to future generations.
This man was very honest in everything he said about the breed. Awesome video!
Glad to see responsible breeders working these dogs and testing them on all levels from health to working them. I spoke to Lana when I first got into Johnson dogs and bought Hoss the Boss. I was told to stay away from the Alapaha Dogs. That they were genetic train wrecks. Almost 30 years later it was great to see these outstanding Specimens of the breed. Very impressive. Just goes to show what dedication and excellent selective breeding can produce.
This is a dope video keep up the great work. Really informative and I love how the guy in video keeps it real.
love this channel and this guy and his education. i love my olde english bullys and all bully breeds. companship work ethic and family protection. canines 100 worth to me

Great stuff thanks for the upload
Truly a serious breeder. If you want a really good healthy dog this is the guy to go to.
Had to stop the vid short before proceeding. I heard Lana Lou was the original. Interesting that it wasn't. I appreciate your knowledge. I also didn't know the white was bread with several breeds to make different types. I still will get an alapaha as I love the breed. Thank you for schooling me. All the best my friend
Omg these are gorgeous dogs im in love
Bubba is an awesome dog. Real good looking too.
she invent the dog, y'all perfected it . I still love your standard of the dog
Beautiful dogs wow
Beautiful dogs 👌🏼👌🏼
I did not finish it, but a good video. In our white english group we do have alapaha breeders that are trying to restore the ABBB to what Lana was turning out and apparently not all ABBB people get along well. What you call english whites were always called white english in southern Georgia and in rural North Florida. They seem to be mostly gone from North Florida but are still present in some parts of Georgia and in parts Alabama. Some of them can be used in hog hunting and others WE not. Mine strictly are used for guarding my homestead from 2 and 4-legged trouble makers and are still laid back dogs that do not threaten my neighbors, but can transform when needed to defend my homestead. My WE have a lot of the Carr family type of WE in their blood lines.
My are not aggressive but will not back away from a strange dog that threatens them. WE have been known to kill intruding feral hog rather than hold them. It just depends on the mix of what is in them. What is very important is that mine avoid water moccasins and other snakes that are common in NWFL.
Very insightful!.
One day I’ll get one thx for the video nice dogs
I had an alapaha blue blood putbull. He was the best dog i ever had. Everything youve said about this breed is just like my dog bambam. I was always aware of his every bark or growl. Everytime i took him to vet i muzzled him. He passed this past april. I would love to have another one to help protect me cos i suffer from chronic pain. I miss my Bambam so. And i live in alapaha
So sorry for your loss. I hope you get another one
fantastic breed.
