- The English Bulldog descends from bull baiting bulldogs but he has come a long way since these times. Known as the most iconic of all English Dogs, he has been the face and heart of Britain throughout World War 2 and likened to Winston Churchill and other tough iconic celebrities. Today we discover if recent health improvements by the breed clubs has made this dog much healthier than a few years back, plus we take a trip into London Town, Austin Powers style to find out everything abut his history while visiting some of the city's most recognised landmarks.

My lad (he is my profile picture. His name is Tank) has never chewed. I got one of the Kong toys, but he just looks at it until I take food out of it.
I agree that English bulldogs are big babies or tiny people in a dogs body, but they are incredible protectors. Tank has never had protection training, but he will guard my kids and follows them around outside, if an adult stranger goes near them (especially when they were younger) Tank will watch like a hawk. When a delivery driver came in our back garden and my 8 year old was out there, Tank bowled him to the ground and sat on his chest (no teeth involved). It was the drivers fault for coming into the garden without knocking, or coming in the back garden at all. Tank knows that people come to the front door, never the back so when someone comes to the front door, he is a huge sop. No one taught him this, he worked it out on his own. Very intelligent dogs.
We had one. He was the sweetie to the family.

Omg had to watch this because I have an English bulldog. Other than my son she is the other love of my life. Just to let you know that owning an English Bulldog is not.easy. I knew what I was getting into and still had issues. I have been lucky as far as health issues. They are very expensive, have many health issues and are very stubborn. That being said, if you can afford having an English Bulldog, it is an amazing experience. She is my baby girl and I am completely in love with her. That being said, you have to be firm with them, they are smart and stubborn.

Who can't resist a bulldog face, right? I am a sucker for a pup with a flat, shore snout. My Staffordshire mix has some bulldog blood in her and it shows! Here in the US we have Mack Trucks whose trademark, the bulldog, originated back in 1917 when Mack provided trucks for the British Army. The British soldiers at the time dubbed the truck the "bulldog Mack"
Had Tullie our British Bull Dog for too year's now. best thing we have ever done, she's so loving, great with the children, every one she meets full in love with her gentle nature.
They are quite beautiful, but I am really conflicted about my feelings for brachycephalic breeds.

Awesome dogs when properly bred, cared for ECT. Unfortunately people aren't that responsible or sensible when it comes to producing health dogs care more about the color/markings n so on leaving the dog and new owners with health issues, short life span & a dog that's far from what the breed actually should look like and be able to do
The bulldog is my favourite breed but only healthy ones. We have in aus the Aussie bulldogs.they have a bit longer noses for breathing and a bit taller. Awesome dogs

Also, English bulldogs have jaws of steel, they just don't know it or use it. Again, this is one of the most amazing and sweetest dog breeds if you know how to handle them and can afford them

We’ve had Axel now 5 since he was 2 months old and he’s not cost us anymore than any other dog, the standard injections and tablets. Buy from a reputable breeder and look after their folds and tail pocket and and you’ll be fine. Axel is the apple of our eye, loving, stubborn and very very funny. I highly recommend the breed

English bulldogs are great its just a shame they font live very long.
Technically they aren't real bulldogs anymore. Real bulldogs were athletes and the real english bulldog is extinct. These dogs today are struggling to breathe after doing nothing.

My Bulldog Samson lived for 12 years! When women came around he had the same reaction! He was horny, farted, snored and slobbered every where! If he rode in my car his seat was the front seat my wife had to ride in the back 😂
