Hey sis, new subbie here. ❤️Discovered your channel a couple days ago, and when I tell u it’s been a blessing in disguise coming across someone who’s gone through the same traumatic salon experience. I big chopped back in 2016 leaving only an inch of hair on my head. Fast forward to 2024, and I’m coming to terms with the fact that my 8 years of growing out big, beautiful thick 4c hair (literally a couple inches away from my bum) has all been for nothing. It’s been 9 months since I had some sort of smoothing treatment done and my hair still won’t curl/coil like it used to, and very flat and not voluminous anymore. The only time it curls is when I do braids outs and curl up the ends, and I have to make sure I don’t sleep wrong or my hair will be back limp and straight by the morning. It sucks honestly, but I feel like my only option at this point is to big chop it or embrace this straight hair lifestyle so I can wake up with a flawless silk press every morning. Lowkey looking forward to my hair always being done and no more unpredicted bad hair days, because I know what I’ll get when I take it down in the morning.
Girl no cons. 😂😂 just kidding let me watch the video. I’m 10 seconds in lol. I will say there’s levels to this, i still wear curly hair…but im limited to rollersetting my hair. I retain soooo much more length wearing my hair mostly straight…so honestly i don’t see any cons, u just gotta take time to learn ur hair and learn how much damage is ok for u. Agree with all ur points!

Awww , thank you🥹💕let me know how your ‘straight natural’ hair journey goes. This has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.
