I have type 2. I used to take 160 units of insulin and weigh 20.5 stone. I’m now off insulin and now weigh 14 stone on low carb diet. I agree with Dr. Unwin that NHS doctors treat the symptoms not the cause. It’s like giving an alcoholic alcohol to relieve symptoms.

I can vouch for changing diet (eliminating starchy carbs and sugar foods) and reversed "early onset diabetes". My blood test results have remained excellent for 15 years since this change of diet kicked in.

I started the Carnivore diet 23 days ago and my menopause symptoms of hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, fatigue, stomach pain, vertigo, constipation and bloating have gone. Unbelievable as I have been suffering with these issues for over 3 years following the recommended plant based, carb loaded crappy standard advice. I lost 1.5 inches around my waist in just 7 days. Hot flashes reduced to the odd one or two in 24 hours once I was off my debilitating porridge with plant-milk, salad, fruit, veggies, sweet potatoes, plant-protein, soybean and tofu self-destructive diet. I cannot believe I got rid of all my menopause symptoms in literally 2 days and I am down to a 27.5 inch waist by just removing all plant food and eating animal protein (meat and fish, primarily from Lidl) and fat. Ladies, if you are suffering with menopause symptoms, I urge you to check out Dr Ken Berry's video on menopause, watch it to the end or start at 9.05 and read the comments -

Following his advice and other advocates of the Carnivore diet has literally given me my life back (in less than 3 weeks) after 3 years of hell living with menopause. I don't know if it will work for everyone but it is working for me and I was at my wits end, resigned to trying HRT until I stumbled on the Carnivore diet and I am dumbfounded that all I had to do was change the way I eat. I'm eating fatty meats (mince, steaks, salmon, sausage, bacon, coldwater prawns salted to taste, eggs and butter. You must eat more fat than protein, I slipped up on this about 10 days in, as having lots of butter was something I was struggling with (kept telling myself, this can't be right) and my hot flashes and night sweats came back. I increased the amount of butter in my meals and started drinking bulletproof tea (tea with butter instead of milk or cream) and they went away again. I've slimmed down and don't go hungry, eating just 2 meals a day and feel like a new woman. I follow the mantra, eat when you are hungry and stop when you are comfortably full, not stuffed and if you eat enough fat with your meal, you will find that your cravings for carbs and sugary snacks will disappear. I also weight train, do step aerobics and yin yoga, It might sound like the craziest thing and it did to me because it goes against all the nutritional advice I have ever heard but I was desperate and had nothing to lose so gave it a try and still can't believe it's working for me and I will never, ever again follow government guidelines on what food I put in my mouth. I wish someone had told me about this option years ago so if it helps one other woman out there then job done.

I'm disabled. I reversed my type 2 diabetes some years ago by changing my diet. It's much harder for a person who's disabled, who can't walk, so can't exercise. It's a state of mind.
If a person really wants to make a change for the betterment of their life, they will try as hard as they can, some will need more help.
The food in our country is a disgrace. Breakfast cereals full of sugar, that some parents give to their children, are putting many of them on a lifetime of dependency on sugar.
This is not just the parent's fault. We have a government, not a very good one, (labour would be no better) that can change what is put in our foods. But, no, they can't. We are a slave to profit. More profit means more tax, more tax means more the lefty weak willed, pathetic snowflakes in parliament can give OUR money away to foreign countries, just to try to make themselves look good on the world stage. In reality, the world has been laughing at us for decades. They take our taxpayer's money, while we have millions of children in our country living in poverty.

You can put type 2 into remission, but there is no cure. And it depends upon whether the type 2 diabetes is related to insulin dependency or not. People with LADA diabetes, for example, commonly do not require insulin, but do require other medication to stimulate the pancreas cells to produce insulin and to stop the liver producing so much sugar. The LADA types have potentially the same symptoms as those with diabetes mellitus, both are related to high blood glucose implications. There is no cure yet for both, and LADA cannot be reversed and may develop in time into type 1, whereby the pancreas cells have completely dysfunctioned and no insulin is being produced.

Pity the doctor misrepresented nutrients. those foods are not 'protein' they are nutrient-dense foods, meat fish and eggs. and its not 'green' replacement, its vegetables. which are also nutrient-dense with plenty of vitamins and minerals. then Ivor makes the mistake of calling all oils 'seed oils'. this is a commercial category that people mistake, deliberately generalizing so the industrial processed oils do not seem so bad being linked in with sunflower and sesame oils. They are hydrogenated oils, full of trans-f'ats which our body can't process and so treats like saturated fat.

The UK economy is absolutely hobbled by an ever increasing sick workforce caused by multiple factors inc.
    *environmental toxins
*poor diet full of cheap carbs & toxic oils
*psych. stress (gratis the relentless media propaganda )
On this issue of food, things are unlikely to improve in the future
with the introduction of universal vegetarian school lunches into UK schools
(already implemented by many higher education institutions where they are well received by a woke, indoctrinated privileged middle class)
The best way to undermine any society & bring it down is to persuade it to believe in a whole pile of nonsense, underpinned by sketchy scientific research funded by profit driven industry
& supported by highly lobbied central & local government.
The Bread & Media Circus will continue.
