Yeah you can! it’s gonna require a little bit of thought on component placement, but it’s totally possible! Just connect the air unit to your flight battery or add an inav FC and go for it!
It is lightweight black duct tape. not as heavy as the grey standard stuff, but just as strong and sticks well. makes the leading edge last much longer and covers up any wrinkles from mishaps
Nice video! When you were putting the Goblin together did you have a hard time sliding the wings into the fuselage? Did the plans match up well with the slot and wing or did you make adjustments. When I made the Goblin I had gaps between my wing and fuselage and wing...not sure what I did wrong?
As an experienced scratch builder, I didn't have any issues. I typically cut the wing cutouts a little small and use the sliding force of the wing to open it out to shape. Small gaps are inevitable but just remember that it shouldn't affect the way the plane flies, so go out there and have fun!
Thanks for your reply, so should I stick to ft explorer? I was thinking of scaling down the plans a bit so that I can use 2204 motor with a 30amp esc, will that work for me?
@@daipayanchakraborty2738 It’s hard to scale the plans down because the foams thickness won’t change, making it hard to assemble. should fly fine as is with a 2204
@@CustomFPV I don't use foam board, I make all my planes with 2mm coroplast, or coro sheet, 2x stronger than foam, you should try that bro!! That would be awesome
Elevon reflex? a foam thickness of up on each side with no stick input? Thanks! Looking to start building this one soon. Will an EMAX RS2205-S 2600 kv, 40A ESC, a 5051 RacceKraft tri-prop on a 3s be close to this setup? Great job!!!!
Michael Guillemette yep sounds similar to what i’m running. my word of advice, don’t push it on the prop, I attempted to upgrade to a 6x4.5x3, and almost straight toasted my motor. It’s plenty fast on 3s with my gemfan 5152. And yes, the elevon reflex is CRUCIAL. 1 foam board thickness and you should be golden. My friend tried flying his without, with negative results. hope this helps!
@@CustomFPV ... Thanks, friend! Great info! What has been your top speed with your setup? I love the way this baby looks in the air, but am looking to go as fast as possible! Ha! Thanks again!
Hi. I was just about to start a scratch build on this when I saw from the FT build video that: • the receiver seems to be built into the fusillade and • The motor is not mounted via power pod and seems rather difficult to remove to slip into another plane. I’d appreciate your thoughts on this. Did you go as they did in the video, or did you have a work - around?
The Receiver can be mounted pretty much anywhere you would like, given you have servo extensions. both of my goblin builds have had accessible receivers without extensions. I wouldn’t worry about that. If you are interested in a swappable system out of the gate then this system isn’t compatible, however it could be done easily with a little bit of modding to a ft mini pod. I don’t run swappables at all so it isn’t much of a consideration to me, but it definitely can be done. Good luck!
Yes! They are inexpensive Miuzei Amazon SG90 Servos. They work great: www.amazon.com/Cenrkay-Micro-Helicopter-Aircraft-Control/dp/B07N1C8D2F/ref=mp_s_a_1_13?dchild=1&keywords=miuzei+servo+sg90&qid=1591902294&sr=8-13
Deeeeeewwwd! What a gorgeous job on this goblin.I haven't tried to build this yet.
Stephan Jeffery Thanks bro! Hopefully she flies as good as she looks!
Hey can i build a dji System in there and fly it?

What is that tape you apply to your planes, it looks great

@@CustomFPV can you recommend a brand? The tapes im looking at do not mention lightweight
Want is the thickness of the foam board? 5mm? Thanks for the video!
3/16in or 5mm. Thanks for watching! Happy holidays!
Thx
Nice bro. 👍
Thanks!
Where is the CG exactly and why didn't you use 2200?
I use a 2200 now, just didn’t have any at the time. CG is very close to the leading edge, maybe a half inch. in front of the stock CG for sure
CustomRCMods thanks man! I have never flown without stabilizer...is it really that hard?

Bro what are the flight characteristics? As a beginner can I build this and fly easily?
I would say this is a good 3rd build. it’s stable and fun but not quite a beginners plane

Although it’s heavier, and only strong in one direction. i’ve seen it done before and it tends to add more challenges to the build.
