- Old rusty fishing knife restoration.
I found this old fishing knife at an antique store. I think this knife was made in the first half of the 20th century. This knife has not been used for a long time. The blade was covered with rust. I decided to restore this rusty knife. I removed the rust and polished the blade. I made a new knife handle from walnut wood. I hope you liked my restoration.

WOW !!! what a beautiful result , I’m going to have a go !!! Eeeeekkkk!! 😳👍🏻
thanks!
Mind blowing! I can't believe you got a mirror finish on it. You are a true artisan.
Jesus loves u all. Jesus died on the cross and three days later He rose. and so when you put your trust that He died for your sins, you will be saved, put your full faith into Him, not your workss
Is this a metaphor for the story of this knife, death, and resurrection...?
Great result! At 7:00 you have sandpaper wrapped around the file, there is a great tool the "sandpaper file" I can highly recommend.... Greeting FSR🐢
Thanks)

Another beatiful restoration 👍 Congratulations 👏and Greetings from Belgium 😉🇧🇪👋
Great job sir! Next time you wrap a blade use a paper towel then wrap with tape. It will save you time from cleaning sticky residue from the blade that the tape leaves behind.
Thanks for the advice!
He'll yea dud . Looks killa
as if it is new... 👍

Great restoration. Love the knife. I’d be a great bushcrafting knife
thank you!
Liked and subscribed... Very good work!
🇻🇪👍🏻👏👌
Beautiful job. I don't have any knives that aren't stainless steel. Would a knife like this one need to be coated in a bit of oil so it doesn't rust again? If not, how do you maintain that shine?
It is better to cover with oil. But if you work with it often, it will not rust.
@@ReXtorer Thank you.
FANTASTIC 👌👌👌
Knife turned out hella dope, @ReXtorer!
Stunning piece of work. Was it 9% vinegar, and the rest water? Then just soda washing up crystals? 👍
Yes. It was a 9% vinegar solution. Soda neutralizes the acid
I really didn't think it would come out that nice, Great job. How long did it take ?
Thank you. I spent almost 7 hours on sanding
Beautiful work
Hello mister beautiful knife beautiful restoration well done
What a beauty! I think my dad used one like this. What year was it made,if you would happen to know?
Nice restoration. But If this is a knife intended for the outdoors, why did you not make a sheath for it?
“It’s perfect”

stupid
Making something old looking like something new is not the classical meaning of restoration. I would have used the old wood, which was still good und would have left the patina of all these centurys. The outcome of all this work is a "new" product, which all his history gone...
This is not a very old knife. I wanted this knife to do its job
How merciless he was to the old handle 🤦🏻♂️ ... 😂.
А навіщо ви цвяхи віджигаєте?) Вони ж і так легко розкльопуються. А так сильніше іржавіти будуть.
щоб легше розклепувались)
Muito bom. Excelente trabalho, perfeito. Um abraço de Portugal.
9:43 OMG 🤤🤤🤤 hack saw for the wood unbelievable 😂😂😂😂😂
Try to learn more about restoration mate 👎👎👎👎
It’s not normal practice, but the reality is with a low TPI the end result with walnut would be pretty much the same, you just might need to clean out the teeth and make sure you keep it extra straight. People like this on youtube are often driven by the actual result, not what you are ‘supposed’ to use. Looking at the wood at the end, do you see anything that would have been better if he had used the ‘correct’ tool?
When every single part is not save is not a restoration for me (the handle)🧐
Any newly sharpened blade can cut paper. You should have de-scaled, gutted & cut up a real fish to demonstrate that you have restored it to the proper function. 👎
Beautiful !!!
