      @@TheElevatedHome awesome. Im 100% trying this once these colors fade out. I already checked it out and i seen a medium deep chocolate golden brown that I really like. 😁 Are the bottles normally big enough to do a whole head with just one ? Cause normally i get 2-3 box dyes from the store when i do mine.

    • @TheElevatedHome
      @TheElevatedHome  4 роки тому +2

      Bailey JeanTheJellyBean actually the first time they send you enough dye to cover it all and it would still be $10. I got two. The. The next few rounds are single bottles bc imyoull do just your roots and then a wash down the rest while in the shower. If I change my color then they send two bottles again to be sure my whole head is covered! They’re really beyond accommodating and it’s part of the reason I have stuck with them so long.

      @@TheElevatedHome wow i cant believe i havent heard about this before now. I am 100% trying it cause i definitely spend more than $20 when getting just the normal box dyes. Cant wait to get my first box and continue from there 😁

    I have been an esalon member since 2016. I used to spend over 100 bucks a month on my hair.. but now 20 bucks every 6 weeks. A pro tip is before you color your roots, dampen your ends and put conditioner only on your ends.. that way you dont accidently color your ends making them darker and uneven. You're welcome! ;)

      I’m going to do that in the future, thank you… I have blonde highlights but do my roots myself, and go to the salon 3 times a year to get the highlights redone. When I section my hair to do my roots the lengths get tangled all around as my hair is so fine, I’m scared some root color will end up on the highlights. Dampening and putting on conditioner is a genius idea!

    I have also been using esalon for almost a year now. I just did my roots a couple days ago. I feel better knowing I am not the only one that gets it all over my face, cheeks, & neck. Thank you for sharing that & doing this video. I am preparing to do highlights for the first time on myself in many years. I am quite nervous about it.

    How do you rinse without the root color going onto the lighter ends?!

    • @ALT-vz3jn
      @ALT-vz3jn Рік тому

      ESalon gives you a second pair of gloves in the kit. Once your timer goes off you put the gloves on just before getting in the shower. You wet your gloved hands and massage the color that’s on your roots for 2 minutes, being careful not to spread it to the lengths. Then you rinse and immediately shampoo and condition. I always shampoo twice after I color to make sure there’s no color residue in my hair.
      Also, I have used eSalon’s purple tint on my lengths after coloring my roots. It’s a product you use after shampooing but before conditioning. I do that to neutralize any possibility of color having gotten on my blonde from the water. Maybe it’s pointless but my roots and highlights look lovely when I’m done. The eSalon Tint works amazingly well against brassiness.

    Thanks for this video. I am going to try to color my hair at home for the first time because of this "stay home" happening because of the pandemic. Did you use the standard 20 volume that came with the kit? Did it lighten your hair? I want to dye brown as well but don't want to change my shade to a lighter one. Will 20 volume lighten it or just help with the gray coverage? Any thoughts would be appeciated!

    • @ALT-vz3jn
      @ALT-vz3jn Рік тому

      ESalon doesn’t have a ‘standard kit’ they work with you to develop the exact type of products you need. For example, my root touch-up subscription comes with a 15 volume developer and my toner subscription comes with a 10 volume developer.

  • @gillianmccullough1276

    Great vid! Did you just rinse the roots with clips in hair or do you remove clips and rinse root color all the way through to hair ends? First time coloring my roots without losing highlights. Thanks

    • @ALT-vz3jn
      @ALT-vz3jn Рік тому

      You have to take the clips out once your timer goes off.
      There’s a second pair of gloves in the color kit; you put the gloves on right before you get in the shower. Once you’re in the shower you wet your gloved hands and you massage your roots where the color is for a couple of minutes. You’ll see the color will start to get a bit sudsy. Then you rinse and shampoo/condition with the eSalon shampoo and conditioner packets provided. After shampooing you can take off the gloves if you want, since the excess color is rinsed out your hands don’t risk getting stained.
      There’s plenty of shampoo in the packet (it smells nice, like apples), but I like to shampoo twice after coloring to make sure i didn’t miss any of the color residue on my scalp; so I have a gentle non-stripping shampoo on standby for the second wash. Then I use the eSalon conditioner packet. I have long baby fine hair and there’s enough conditioner for my needs, but I think someone with long thick hair probably would want to use more conditioner.

It has been a huge stress for my hair having to highlight it often to keep the highlights bright. Any tips.? That's what I'm trying to figure out. ; ) I tried eSalon and liked the coverage but it turned my hair too red/orange and after three tries I moved on to Naturtint, which works better for me. Then they send root touch up ones for a few and then back to double bottles again. I’m not an affiliate or anything for them but I’m sure I could still ask for you if you wanted!

      Having a helper is the key if you’re worried about not getting a good result. Even a young teen can help, I remember going to my neighbor’s house to dye her hair when I was 14 😂
      I do the front and top of my hair to the crown on my own, and my husband does the back sections for me.
      I’m saving so much money using eSalon, when my salon charges me $175 plus tip just for roots and a cut😩my hair is baby fine and I just get trims, so a cut on me takes less than 10 minutes... Now I go three times a year to get my highlights redone ($400 with the tip, OUCH) and the rest of the time I use eSalon for my roots.
      My hairstylist hasn’t complained, and she hasn’t had a hard time highlighting over the eSalon color, so that pretty much shows it’s real salon-grade color.

My roots need to be done every 3 weeks . I get my highlights professionally done and it costs a lot of money. Every time I do my roots it messes up the highlights I just had done. It messes up the highlights around the top and sides, ( face framing highlites). It ruins them . What can I do to keep this from happening. I really can not afford money and time to go to a salon every 2.5 to 3 weeks. I am already spending hundreds of dollars on product, keratin , cut and highlights. Any advice? PLEASE? ANYONE?

My best friend is pink and has been blue, purple, and green too so I’d rather just wait for her to help me!

      @@TheElevatedHome you should definitely do some color again when your hair gets back to healthy. That's kinda why im gonna go back to a normal color after this cause ive had colors in my hair for about 7 to 8 months and have went from just purple to just blue and now both together and the bleach touch ups are rough on your hair. So definitely need to give mine a break again for awhile. I like to go every few years with nornal colors then go bright for about a year here and there 😁 But haha my bf was worried he was gonna mess it up and i told him oh just slap it on there, cant be any worse than when i do it without being able to see 🤣🤣 if a color doesn't turn out then hey what can you do. Just put a darker color over it and its all better or just rock and who cares 🤣🤣🤣 Hair is hair it will grow back 💕😁

    I have a ‘line’ of silvery hair at the roots of my scalp, which is where most of my grey is. this product did not work for me. Total waste of money.

    This is definitely a commercial for esalon,but not great advice for not ruining highlights or balayage hair .

      This is def not a commercial for eSalon since I don’t work for them, wasn’t sponsored, wasn’t asked to make the video, and I’m a paying esalon customer. But also I’m not a hairstylist and merely gave the at home expectation for a hair dying service. What would you suggest I do differently?

      @@TheElevatedHome sorry to offend you. I'm just trying to cover roots without it bleeding down to ruin my highlights. My roots are gray, I'm light brown with blond highlights. You seem really pleased with esalon but I cant wait for the mail

    Title is so misleading and never really answer how to prevent staining your highlights after being asked many time....really wished she filmed washing dye out🫤

    This hair color brand is VERY LIMITED; only takes you 2 shades lighter/darker and basically useless.

    Well they charge me for my ends. Another $20 on top when I need to refresh my ends. So its minimal $40 to color my hair.
