Indigenisation should be the key for Pakistan, though this may not bring fancy platforms to PAF in the near future, block building and enhancing capabilities on jf17 platform will be prove to be the biggest advantage for Pakistan. 5th gen platforms such as J20 and Project Azm are the future of PAF. At the end of the day, those who develop systems and technology have the best understanding of it. Those who buy it are operators and therefore they can never have the ultimate precision understanding. They only talk jargon to impress but have zero idea on how to develop technology - same goes for the video maker.

Over a long period of time even the operators gain as much knowledge as the manufacturers..... The Turkish and japanese knowledge of F-16 , the indian knowledge on Mig-21 , Jaguar and Mirage-2000 , the saudi knowledge of Tornadoes, the Ukrainian knowledge of Su-27s ....... ....... What they don't get is the IP rights over the technology...... It's not that PAF can not upgrade their F-16s themselves, they simply lack the IP rights for that...... Project Azm is a far fetched dream ... A country which hasn't developed a single helicopter forget fighter jet, all of a sudden talking about developing 5th gen UCAV!!..... And it's not that Pakistan can't, time and against they have proved that they can achieve their target,..... It's just that skipping the experience build up stage is gonna cost you around 10years in the development of project Azm....... Especially developing a 5th gen UCAV is way more of difficult task than it sounds......
