Rewatching this, knowing Tom is an Olympic champion, a husband, and a father now is amazing. And watching Lance talk about being dazzled by Tom is everything.
Great documentary, in the same vein as "Diving For Britain", the one he did before London 2012. I have met Tom & I can confirm that he is a beautiful human being inside & out. I wish him & his fiancé Dustin all the luck & love in the world.
Why should anyone have to apologise for who they are. There is enough crap in this world so when someone finds true love then let them be happy. You rock guys. I wish you nothing but the best. Xxxx
Such an inspiring, beautiful, level-headed young man, sincerely hope his dream of winning Olympic gold will become reality. Gorgeous couple! His husband-to-be doesn't look a day over 35.
He is not just a great athlete but also a really inspirational personality. He went to some difficult times in his young age but this seems to give him more motivation and courage to reach his goals. Great guy. I was absolutely surprised when i heard about Lance´s Age because he looks so young. You really see that they are really happy together. I wish them all the best.
Tom, you were so lucky to have the family you have. I think of your dad as I watch you dive. I lost my dad when I was only 8 and appreciate how you feel. God bless you, you know your dad is always with you. Love you my friend, oh and love your hubby too!
Genuine and inspiring, that is why I follow you (Tom) and Lance. Your relationship is special, and am just so excited about your future. Thanks for sharing your lives with us...
It's good that Tom Daley is standing up for his rights. If he's gay, he's gay. Who cares?! Some people hate gay people, while other people accept gay people. And I do accept them. Bravo Daley for standing up! 👏
Cannot get over what a lovely human being Tom Daley is, he is an inspiration just as himself let alone for his diving. I hope he can come away with gold for himself more than anything but literally he is just amazing
It's quite sad to see this and the hard work put in and know that Tom didn't even qualify for the medals in Rio - but there's no accidents in life and I think this was meant to happen to him so that he will become even better and win the gold in Tokyo.
So sad, Tom didn't make it, clearly some bizarre mindset got the better of him. Hope that doesn't mean the end. I'm sure he can only become better from this agonising experience. Maybe competing in springboard is the next logical step? Whatever Daley decides to do with the rest of his sports career and life I wish him all the best. He undoubtedly deserves it!
Yes I think his mind just over powered him, but if you watched the interview he said that this is going to make him more determined for Tokyo, so here we come Tokyo 2020!
Tom, we may have lost our Dad's to a Brian tumour, but they will always be with us. And they see our successes and support us through the difficult times. Your Dad loved & supported you so much and will always watch over you.
love you tom plus love the person who uploaded this so so sooooo EXCITED TO WATCH THIS been looking in since 2012 for news on tom daley for rio and this wraps the whole 4 years
I'm watching this now and Tom is going for his olympic gold medal on six days. He's in Rio and just won a bronce medal a couple days ago, i can say that i'm proud.
Tom Daley you are pure inspiration. You inspire not just me but so many athletes every single day. I wish you all the best, from deep inside my heart. You deserve every bit of success. Again, true INSPIRATION
I don't suppose anyone can say much that you have not already heard many times over. I would like to add my thoughts to the heap of commentary that lay all about you. You are certainly a wonderful person. To devote your life to diving is nothing less than dedication to something you love more than all other things. You have set a standard by which others will be measured. You have inspired so many other to follow your career and to emulate your goals and achievements. That alone sets you apart. Such a shame that you lost your Father. There is no doubt that he supported you and inspired you to achieve what you have now. Though he is not with you in body, certainly his memory, his joy at your achievement, his loving spirit will be with you forever. The last great goal is Tokyo. Nothing that came or went before that matters. This is the grand hurrah. But you must NOT make it the Last Hurrah. It is technically within your grasp. All it takes is the mental discipline - and you have that as well. Use it well, Tom. It will lead you to ascend to the highest pinnacle of success. There is one more thing. Don't let the ultimate prize be the end of your career as a champion of champions. Never stop, Tom. Medals are not the only mark of success. They are just symbols of your skills measured by others. It is the skills measured by you that really count. You have a goal to achieve and a continuance of your incredible skills beyond that. Perhaps the final goal is conquering the one dive you fear so much. The day when you stand on the platform, a solitary figure high about the pool, in your heart, in your mind, you will do that dive perfectly and that, Tom, will be the Ultimate. You have another man who looks at you as his partner. You have a son for whom you will be a shining light, a guide for his future , a symbol of success. One wants to wish you "Good Luck". But it is not about luck, is it. It is all about you, mentally and physically. Reach out, Tom, Grasp every opportunity to go just one more step further. Never stop. All the best to you and your wonderful caring partner. I can't say much more.
Hi Robert, This is very lovely. Unfortunately this is just a fan account. Tom has his own account that you can leave comments on :) : ua-cam.com/channels/5ULOEYE9J0qQOZoKQ4BS6Q.html
relieve that he has mastered the new dive see how nerve racking decision it is especially in short space of time but risks need to be done plus the old dive was giving him lots of problems and this gave him new motivation so really believe he has what it takes for GOLD
Tom is a great guy and his relationship to Lance is inspiring. The truth is, he is very successful and everyone having a problem with his sexuality or his partner is just jealous and will never be half as successful in their whole life as he is with 25. Thumps up for him and inspiring people with being honest and sincere - to himself and the world.
No wonder he was in a slump. Winning something and placing all your energy and hope into that fleeting accomplishment, is like chasing vapor. It means nothing in the eternity of things.
It's easy for us to see what attracted Dustin Lance Black to Tom Daley but I just can't help wondering what first attracted Tom to multi millionaire Oscar winning film mogul DLB ? ;-)
+Noelle I know, I know. I was just being a bitch with a good helping of jealousy in making my silly comment. Thank God I'm still romantic enough to also truly believe in a 'coup de foudre'. I know it has happened often enough to me although unfortunately as yet I've never been lucky enough to follow it through. On a more serious note I do think that we have to reflect that after those first few seconds of rapture on seeing "the one" it would only be human for our brain to click in and wonder what our life together would be like in purely practical terms ? There's nothing wrong with this. It's just a rational reflection that "man cannot live by sex alone" ;-)
meandmymouth I get it with the jealousy, it's so hard not to want to poke holes in other's love. I think that it makes life happier to just be happy for others. I think in their case especially, there have actually been quite a few people who have married someone 20+ years older than them and have had long happy marriages. And there have been a lot of people who have married someone close in age and gotten divorced later. And, to be fair, it goes both ways. Love is complicated, and I think humans would be much happier if we just live it instead of trying to define it.
+Noelle Agreed although personally I never thought the age difference was that big issue some people thought it to be. To me a more interesting issue was the fact that before they met they each already inhabited different zones of what I call "Celebrity world" or "Show business" if you prefer. A place where you are the performer and not the audience at least during working hours. It seems to me that as Tom's sporting career inevitably winds down as he gets older Lance will be uniquely qualified to advise or to even manage his transition to a successful celebrity in the main stream media whether that be in sporting comparing like say Gary Lineker or in say as an actor in film or TV drama ?
Rewatching this, knowing Tom is an Olympic champion, a husband, and a father now is amazing. And watching Lance talk about being dazzled by Tom is everything.
