Such value in this discussion; a masterclass for us rugby followers! Huge thanks to two master presenters/thinkers. Our teams/players are renowned for being big/strong/tough et al but it’s clear rugby has become a deep thinking man’s game for players & coaches. Mental agility as important as physical prowess. Was really pleased MW highlighted the issue of handling skills; it’s an endemic issue throughout SA teams including the Boks. For a long time I’ve felt strongly RSA teams should go back to the drawing board around passing/catching skills; too many tries/missed opportunities are being left out there time & again. The Irish have shown what’s possible here. The Argentinians, French & Aussies are also way ahead of us on this front. Going up a notch here will be a huge confidence booster.
Fascinating discussion.Kept my attention for the whole time.Nobody can doubt Jake’s coaching credentials but he should concentrate more on building the players confidence than telling us every time why they can’t win the competition.Everybody now knows the odds but inspire players to take up the challenge. The Bulls are a good team with a proud history.Start believing it’s possible .Rugby and sport is about winning against the odds.
i think the players know that its his strategy to talk themselves small in the public. but in private they say we will win this competition. remember this is the same Jake who told the springboks on day one that in 4 years they will win the world cup. so my friend things are not always as they seem
Good day MW and Andre... As a VERY SORE STORMER SURPORTER I WAS VERY IMPRESSED with ur insight, intelligence and knowledge about the rugby game we all dearly LOVE...!!! I have n grootbek BULLS surporter in the family and he is very quiet lately...!!! Bulls must win game on hand not thinking of winning the cup in week one ?????????? Good luck against Sharks...!!! U can beat them in Durban as before because they are also a yoyo team... One week great other week awful...!!! I NEVER though i would say this in my life time. May GOD ALMIGHTY BLESS U AND UR FAMILIES. AMEM. .
Thanks for another great show. Your discussions really add value for rugby fans. It looks to me like we have not really adjusted our thinking around the champions cup. We seem.to.undsrstand what's needed to compete in the URC and ot looks like we are trying the same tactics in this competition. It won't work because the team quality is higher and so we need to be more clinical. More precise, I see ourvteams over playing on attack. Impatience on attack instead of systemic attack. We need 60 players per club to do curry cup, urc and investec cup. We have more than enough players in our system. It's going to be a few years before we have 240 test level players. It is happening, just need to maintain the process. Bulls look light at flyhalf at the moment. You can see how masuku was the turning point for the sharks. I think we also under estimating just how strong French clubs are. We can take them but it is going to take time. Test level isn't urc level.
#houbydieblou 🇿🇦🐂🍻
Agree André the negative talk needs to stop. We may not have big budgets but we have huge amounts of talent in South Africa. Just develop our talent and stop talking up the opposition.
Thanks for this discussion. But MW and Andre, has this not been the problem for Bulls for 3 years now? Against lesser teams it looks great to ran everything and over anyone. But the moment we face teams with great defense (Stormers 2021-2023, Glasgow in final, Saints the weekend, etc.) we struggle big time and we ran out of ideas, get desperate, knocks, miss many chances, panic stations everywhere, etc. = no game management, taking points in big matches. Two problems: coaches do not have a plan B, and have not learned in 3 years to adapt. And, we do not have a general at 9 or 10 that can adapt or lead or change gameplan while game is on. I will add a third maybe bigger problem already mentioned by MW: MC not captain anymore, why?
Good discussion thanks, and no10 will be key going forward. The impression from body language is that JG isn’t in the right space and it will be costly.
Im not from SA but urc would badly miss jake white. I listen to all his press conferences and i dont do that for my own team. The grass is not always greener. Give the man rime he is building something good.
There is another rugby programme where the panel have a discussion with Saints wing, Tommy Freeman. It is one big laugh and joke about the casual holiday time the team had in Pretoria, bantering about how they beat down the Bulls, lots of laughingstock stuff. No more Fort Loftus for overseas teams.
Isn’t it ironic that a flyhalf has to give Jake a “rugby lesson” on the breakdown and on some very basic stuff? Jake en die Bulle julle moet mooi luister na hierdie uitsending! 🤭

Thank you. I love talking to André. Such a great and clear rugby mind
Thanks for the vlog gentlemen! Value adding as always! The stark reality the last 2 weeks has shown, we not equipped to do battle on 2 fronts.
Thank you Brent
Thanks for the upload

Excellent podcast interview; I get so much out of Andre's ideas.
ek verkies afrikaans - such a shame
Ja, daar is genoeg Megafoon publikasies in Engels.

Just so frustrating to watch the south african side. This competition is step up.
It is certainly a step up!
