    Hey Cam. I'm the one who rode the 1090r with you last year up Switzerland. Great to see your vids. I'm debating between the 390 and 500. My buddies are trying to get me on a sherco

    Nice review Cam. Picked up a 22 500 last summer from the same dealer you purchased from. In process of a lite ADV build. Yes, dielectric grease in plug connectors, tighten all fasteners, an inch pound torque wrench is a must have tool with these bikes. Anxious for fair weather. Keep up the great videos!

    Great vid mate. Not too fast at all, but I'm Australian so it just seemed normal to me. Picking up my 23 480 next week. Can't wait!!

    Great review Cam. I'm still rolling on my 2012 Beta 498 (520RS). I'm at almost 350 very hard hours and it's still solid. I might be looking at getting the 390RR-S in the next season or 2

    I have the 22 version, great bike, as you mentioned the new clutch is feather light, almost to a flaw (Just needed to get used to it because its so easy to pull in) I also switched to the 13 tooth, and with that sprocket it will idle up hill without dying. I've never tried the wet setting, even though I'm in Oregon mud from time to time. I just never saw a need to use it. The 22 stock tires are very soft compound (Maxxis) and I don't see them lasting to long but very grippy. That aside its pretty much been flawless. The 22 headlight is definitely brighter, when I got mine new, Beta put on the old headlight and I sent them a pic and they sent me the new (Correct) one no questions asked. It seems the Beta and the dealers are very good! Beta from what I can tell is very customer oriented which is great.

      Thanks for your comments, good to hear Beta looked after you too! I bet took a bit to get used to the light clutch. My original tires didn't last long either. Cheers and enjoy your bike!

      I just brought one of these home couple days ago and I’m thinking the 13T may be the way to go also . The 15T or maybe it’s 14T but whatever comes on it from factory is pretty tall in my opinion . This thing just feels amazing out of the box . Very nimble coming from a 450L I think the lighter weight of bike is everything .

    Hi Cam. I have the same bike with many of the same mods you have, I love it as well.
    You might want to try 14/50 sprocket set.
    It is a great combination for mixed use.

    Great review. I have the same bike/year/make and agree with all your points. I had to laugh about the burning pants...I've done that as well. I rode minimal time in '21, but have been putting on some miles/hours the past couple months. I'm at 30 hrs and 675 miles. I need to catch up to you!

    Put dielectric grease in all your electronic connectors and that will help solve your problem with electric malfunctions when those components get wet.

    One recommendation I might make to you is get the set of metal oil pump gears. My plastic ones were close to being wiped out (missing teeth) at just about 200 hours. I believe Beta recommends changing the plastic ones every 90 hours.

    • @advtorque
      @advtorque  Рік тому +1

      Thanks, yeah I have some metal gears on order, would be good if the bikes came with them to start with

    I just purchased the 2023 rrs 500 and have ridden it twice. My first dual sport I’ve owned a lot of off-road bikes in my time and this beta is by far the best bike out of the box I have ever ridden. I for one am leaving the stock gearing on I also ride mainly extreme single track here in tillamook Oregon so far it has no problem going anywhere with no clutch abuse and holds a faster hwy speed even the suspension is coming in perfect. And in typical beta fashion u must strip the bike down and tighten everything and dielectric grease every connection I spent about 4 hours fine tuning it. I’m glad I found your video it’s very informative. And for the record the LED head light isn’t much better than cigarette lighter it would get you home but wouldn’t spend much time in the dark. Question is there an emission delete kit to buy or do it myself???

    • @advtorque
      @advtorque  2 роки тому +2

      Great stuff!! When I got mine removed I just asked the dealer to do it and they didn’t charge me. I think now they have started charging. I am not sure if you can buy a kit to do it. I think it is more around just knowing what to do.

      Charcoal canister delete-. On most bikes there is a vent line from airbox to gas tank. Another vent from gas tank to the charcoal can and a vacuum line from charcoal can to the intake manifold/manifold side of throttle body. Delete vacuum line and plug vacuum port on manifold. If you want to remove can entirely, you can either leave line from airbox to gas tank and plug the remaining vent from tank to can, or devise filtered vent for gas tank. Note, removing can will cause gasoline fumes/smell when parking bike in garage/closed space. Just plugging vacuum line from manifold to can will stop lean idle/slow speed stall issues. Hope that helps.

      Walter Schwarz , I believe there's a video on pulling the charcoal canister and all that. It may not be legal to sell delete's in most states and I'm sure it's illegal for a dealer to do it. But what you do on your own is another story!

    New Subscriber after seeing this! Lots of common sense tips here. I have a 2022 XT but may get an RRS this year. As the RRS's are street-legal, I would like Beta to add a neutral light on the dash and balance the wheels, but otherwise I think they have a good product. And I now have a dealer an hour away.

    Wanted to check. No need for a heat shield on the muffer with the green chille snake bags?

    • @advtorque
      @advtorque  2 роки тому +2

      Hey, no, the bags sit fine where it is not close enough to any heat. I have not needed one yet at least.

    Any idea how this would perform as super moto? Looking to ride around town and take it to the trails when I’m able! Thanks for the input!

    THX for the review. Have you replaced the plastic oil pump gears? I’m headed out for a long trip this summer and wondering if this procedure is necessary. Hard to find information regarding as to when it should be replaced. Can’t help but think that a plastic gear could be a ticking time bomb. Cheers!

      Hey, no I haven’t but is on my list in the next 20 hours or so. Cheers. Yeah I think also a ticking time bomb.

    Hello friend! Do you mind sharing the brand for the radiator guards and bash plate w linkage protection please?

    • @advtorque
      @advtorque  Рік тому +1

      Yeah no problem. For the radiator guards I purchased the Beta Bulletproof guards, these were at the dealership when I got the bike, but they are also on the Beta.USA website. #AB-22101. The Bash plate I got of the beta usa website, but looking now they dont have them. They were a re brand of the Enduro Engineering skid plate. Cheers

    I’m selling my 701 to get one of these but I wonder why there’s no comparisons out there with KTMs ?
    Watched a bunch of vids and nothing so far, looks like 2 different worlds …

    Which bike would you say is built better your Beta or Yamaha. I have a YZ250FX and sold my KTM 350XCFW. Looking to replace with 23 WR450F or 23 Beta 390 RS

    • @advtorque
      @advtorque  11 місяців тому +1

      That’s a tough one, both great bikes. People love the 390s but the WR450s are great too I guess for me it would be, your local bike shop and what support your gonna get.

    Hi, I just bought Beta Xtrainer and rear end is too long compared to your. The problem I have with shorter part, when I remove the licence plate holder, is that angle for the licence plate is too shallow to be legal here, and yours seems perfect. Just a question, your rear end is US standard or after market? Thanks

    • @advtorque
      @advtorque  2 роки тому +2

      Good stuff about your new bike. For my rear setup I never bolted on the last part of the rear guard, and just bolted my license plate to where the other part connected. So no new parts purchased, just modified the rear setup. Thanks and I forgot about that in the video!
