Ford Flex Easiest Oil Change EVER!!

- I hadn't thought about it much, but this is the easiest oil change I've ever done, maybe that's part of the reason we've had two of these vehicles...that and my wife likes them and hates minivans🤣. For reference, this is a 2018 Ford Flex SEL and we also had a 2009 Ford Flex SEL.
Very helpful. I just completed my first oil change and I had no issues thanks to your clear instructions.
Thanks for the video. Did you have to jack your flex up to change the oil on it?
No, that is one of the things that makes it super easy. Now having said that, I do have to persuade my oil catch pan just a little as it's not quite low profile enough to get under there without rubbing. My F-150 is a pain, the dumb airdam is so low and the filter is in a crazy place. Plenty of clearance on the Bronco, BUT filter is in odd place, but mine has skid plates to deal with. Oddly enough, the Flex as low as it is, is easily way faster and smoother than the other two and really the best Ford I've ever owned in terms of oil changes. Thanks for watching.
What do you use the 15 millimeter wrench for?
@user-bn9fp9kk1c it's for the drain plug
Yes, my 2012 Flex took 5.5
5.5 filter included
Yep, 5.5, not sure where they get 6.0
What year is your Flex?
2018, we also had a 2009. Thanks for watching.
I'm used Amsoil, evry 400 hours.
Why every 5k miles?
Well, it's easy, 3000 miles is too little, oil comes out nearly like it went in and I think the 7500 miles is just a attempt to claim a lower operating cost per vehicle, plus the oil appears to be quite dirty by then. It seems the 5000 miles is close to the middle, oil comes out, just barely dirty and the bottom line is, I've never had an engine failure of any type under my maintenance scheme and oil is cheaper than new engines and I do all my own work, so it's really not expensive to me. I know plenty people will disagree with me both ways, some will do at 3000, some will wait until the manufacturer's recommendations, but that what seems to work for me. Plus two of our engines are now over 100,000 miles, so a little extra care won't hurt. As much towing and hauling as the truck does, I could even justify more frequent changes. Thanks for watching.
Napa gold or Wix
Never Scam aka Fram
To each his own, been using them forever with zero issues, I don't buy into the Wix propaganda...just kidding, happy you like Wix.
5-40 much better
For what its worth, the oil fill cap and the Owner's Manual say to use 5W20. I just figure I'll go with what the people that engineered and built the vehicle say to go with. Thanks for watching.
