The reason that dads dont want pets is because they know they will get attached, and be very sad when the pet passes away, which will make them sad, but dads are supposed to be strong for they're families so seeing a dad crying would mess up what he was trying to be for his family, so he just avoides getting attached in the first place.

I actually got a similar story from a guy at church. he said when his son was little he got a fish and it only lasted a day or two, and died while he was at school. when he found out he died, he went to the pet store and bought a similar one. the pet store was really close to their house, he said it was right around the corner. they said they actually used this method for about 3 years until it was just unrealistic. when his son was much older, he finally told him.

The fact iI have no technical parent and I grew up with a toxic family I never thought nice parents were normal. Seeing this makes me happy but upset that I couldn't have a happy family like these people. I rarely slept or ate when I was around 3-10 years old.
