Hey guys! This was supposed to go up over 2 weeks ago, but we had a sudden family emergency that we had to deal with. We're still pretty busy right now, but we have another video already uploaded and scheduled for Wednesday. Things should go back to normal after that!
Links for all of the mods are in the description! If you have any extra survival mods you'd recommend then let us know and we'll add them!
Family comes first ;) and the video was very informative as always
Sorry about your family man, hope everything is alright, and take all the time you need.
By the way, what is the mod that expands on the variety of food and recipes? I know it exists, but i cant find out what it is
I am so sorry to hear that, I hope that all is well with you two!
No problem at all man. I hope, whatever the problem is, it will resolve itself overtime. Tell whoever it is that the youtube commenters and subscribers send there regards :)
On a side not I don't think I ever got a chance to reply to one of your videos this early... so I might as well get it out of me now. Thanks Brodual for years of interesting videos and mods, and for what has now become nostalgia. Your videos made me so happy back in the day when I was still too young to even play GTA V. Your videos and "Top 5 Skyrim Mods of the Week" from Gamespot were basically all I watched back then. Honestly even though I know your videos were purely focused around showing mods off I still get great memories of how much I freaked out whenever a cool mod was being shown off and I would never even known about them if not for your videos. Thank you Brodual for your work, for the years of dedication towards Skyrim mods and for entertaining us for so long.
I feel like Bethesda really missed an opportunity by not calling the Creation Club "Todd's Mods"
Geordie Walker Yeah "It just works."
"Will some of this make it into future DLC or updates?"
"W E D O N ' T K N O W"
This is the best reaction tot the creation club i've seeb
I would purchase everything from the Creation Club from both Fallout 4 and Skyrim if they did that.
I've always preferred RND + Wounds. Nothing quite like breaking your arm and leg, getting sick, crawling to a hold, and playing 5 hours as a pickpocket because you're literally incapable of fighting.
Inhospitality is the best.
I had iNeed with dangerous diseases on and Frostfall, I literally had to install a mod that lets you brew a lycanthropy potion at the cooking spit to become a werewolf and thus get cured because I was dying lol. It's kinda cheating I know, but searching for the ingredients for the potion on the brink of death was amazing.
That's an amazing backstory for roleplaying a werewolf if you ask me!
Here is what i recommend:
Loot and Degredation - a good low-script load mod that adds degradation to the game.
Chasing the Dragon - Toxicity and Addiction, which prevents you from constantly 'popping' potions.
I also recommend you get a mod that reduces your carry weight.
can u change carry weight with disparity?
maybe.. I'll have to look into that.
Thank you for the comparison, Brodual! I'll definitely stick with Frostfall, Campfire, iNeed, and Immersive Horses for added survival mechanics. The No Health Regen, Lower Carryweight, and especially Level Up on Sleep don't seem too fun for me.
Great video, haven't modded Skyrim in over two years now but have continued watching your videos to keep up with new mods. I've been put off by not quite knowing which game changing mods to start with since there's so many, this seems like a decent starting point. Thanks :)
For saving game only around campfires or beds, there is "Skyrim Hardcore - More Challenges" mod. It's fully customisable.
Immersive patrols is good and also warzones if you want a good civil war over haul and actually feel like there is one!
Masterjedi343 DO NOT USE WARZONE
It has killed ALL, every single one of my friends' saves due to save bloating. Each save file becomes extremely large and loading times delays more than a minute.
Though my info's based on the 2014 era of the mod. Perhaps they've improved and updated it so it doesn't destroy your game anymore. Be sure to check the nexus forum for updates if you're interested in what WARZONES does.
When you so ADDICTED to fast travel you require a mod to stop you from accessing the world map lmao ahahahah lelo!!!!!!!!!!
I'm currently on my Skyrim hiatus, but I recently saw Underworld for the first time and I'm currently leaning towards playing the game again, as a vampire lord obviously
Excellent vid. one thing to point out (as of jan 2018) some of the UI features of frostfall and a few other mods are not fully supported in SSE yet (there are some manual code changes you can do to help). I am strongly considering adding survival options to my game (the official one, or these mods here) and this series really helped. Thank you for taking the time to cover them, in a objective way.
who needs survival mode when you have free survival mods?
Console pkayers
Someone who doesn't want to use an aging, inefficient survival system that hits the CPU too hard with scripting.
Fortunately, most CC mods have patches for them these days.
All these Immersive mods but I am still waiting for an actual immersion mode where the players have to go for pee and poop from time to time.
I'm hoping to God that the chaps who made all the survival mods still have passion for making mods when the next ES comes out. Personally for me at least. I might wait a month or two before I actually play my new ES once it's released, just to let some mods come out first.
Never get tired of Brodual!
Brodual: "Realistic hunting mod"
Also Brodual, talking about same mod: "Voodoo ritual!"
Dude you guys should totally cover the mod "Spell Research" by IronDusk33, its such a great mod that really really makes you feel like a wizard. From hunting artifacts, to dissolving plants, to studying the very essence of magic.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention! This looks AMAZING and is exactly what I have been looking for without knowing that I was looking for it!
I love the thought of there being “Gore” in Skyrim lol there is a very minimum about if blood that’s it
I like using the Survival Mode with Frostfall and Wet and Cold. It can be pretty harsh at times but works well together.
What if
SKYRIM BATTLE ROYALE?
lmao
Frostfall is pure gold, except those bars. They seem to be kinda random when they fill up or get low. I like Bethesda's style better in that part
shoutout to the guys in the rave advertisement that were going to play Skyrim together
Hey sorry to hear about your family emergency and hope everything is okay. Glad to hear that was the reason for the delay, though, as your videos are some of the best and it would suck if you guys stopped posting them regularly.
I also wanted to say I really appreciate the last two videos and you guys taking a balanced approach to this Creation Club toomfoolery. I like how you give it a fair shake, but then show what you can do with free mods. I feel like this puts the player (and your audience) first. Keep kicking ass, bros.
Worth noting about some of the SE-versions linked. Frostfall and Campfire aren't officially supporting SKSE64 yet, and will break your saves if combined. It seems at the moment that installing the latest version of PapyrusUtil is at least kind of fixing the problems, but nothing properly confirmed yet (don't risk it for a long playthrough). Wet & Cold has some issues with freezing which are currently being investigated with new alpha-version.
no argument here, just wanted to add I've had success with the method described here:
(as noted in the post, at least SOME experience with CK, bsa extraction, and modding in general is recommended. I hadn't used Creation Kit or BAE, until trying this but i appreciate a challenge)
www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/75jdkh/a_full_guide_to_fixing_frostfallcampfire_in_sse/
Tay100 what did you do to get it to work? I tried the above steps along with skse and papyrus but it still wouldn’t show the bars.
Do I need to have skyui?
Cool video guys! I enjoy your content and hope to see more of it. Keep up the good work!
There's still some of using survival mode,
I'm using Free mods like Frostfall, hunterborn, wet and cold, and last seed. The problem with these mods is they're really script heavy which causes script lag/delay, bugs, or even random crashes.
I've waited for this like a good boy
Is it safe to say that, if you own a PC, free mods are way preferable? I mean free mods are more configurable so you can cherrypick your settings to your liking. and most of all: its free?
Karuri Ihtisyamuddin yes its safe to say that I'd even preach it
Yes. In fact thats what I've been saying to the pc fanboys who are screaming the sky is falling. The free mods are here for pc they aren't leaving. This is for console users.
If you can name one reason to get CC Survival over Modded Survival then I will eat my hat.
Free, customisable, progression systems, compatibility, better intergrated, better supported, and best of all, more immersive.
Its safe to say that for consoles too I'm sure. Though what level of stupid one must posses to play games like this on a console and miss out on so much is beyond me.
I just play skyrim on my computer with a controller hooked up.
on reddit i posted a problem of save crashing on saving which then infects all the saves backwards, wrecking your game, a bunch of people had the same problem, then someone pointed out they started having this issue after installing iNeed, and all the users confirmed using iNeed with this crash issue - i loved the mod, but it essentially broke my game for some reason, so i stay clear of it
This would be amazing with the skyrim together mod
Here's the best mod for no fast travel: Don't use it.
i think some just like having the temptation to use it taken away entirely
If the features there I use it without thinking. Always disable it when I start a playthrough.
@@BoshyG Is there a way to disable fast travel without a mod?
@@DavidbarZeus1 no, I always use a mod for it.
@@BoshyG Any suggestions on one that just disables fast travel?
1:13 look at that immersion
I use survival mode from the creation's club to save on the gbs and mod slots
"with the release skse 64 just around the corner" LOL
If you want something really really hard core you can try empty skyrim or the 28 days later mod. Empty skyrim makes it so all the holds are gone so its just forts and bandit camps 28 days later has a feature that spawns zombies that will destroy entire cites. So you can set it so it will slowly spread from one NPC to the entire game over time or start out with every hold taken over. Im currently test this for a new run I want to do
that sounds awesome. I might come back to Skyrim just to try that sort of playthrough out :D
Good video.
Alas, Survival Mode is for the Special edition, and several of the mods you mention do not have SSE counterparts. Particularly "SkyTweaks", "Sleep to Gain Experience", and "Immersive Travel" don't exist for SSE users. So it's not really a "replacement" for the official Survival Mode, so much as "how to get it for Legacy Edition users".
True! But the steam sale starts tomorrow, so I am getting the original skyrim then.
one thing that sucks is many of us downloaded the survival mode(since it was free), just to find out....... you can't uninstall it, though you could to it manually but that just seems messy.
IAmTheRedd you can't uninstall it?! Wow I am glad I decided *not* to get it.
QueenThoria it says you can in the gameplay tab but they don't have it
Nope, not at all. Leave it to Bethesda to not only make a mod system that is payed, but is *so* simplified that you cannot even *uninstall* the mods...
can't you just uncheck the esp in nmm/wrye bash/MO/notepad? or delete the esl?
That's the problem, it's only an .esl. Also that's what I mean by uninstalling it manually but still, just lazy that Bethesda wouldn't allow you to uninstall it via Creation Club
Note to those who are new to modding: While Wet & Cold is a really cool mod, I mean the visual aspects that it adds alone is impressive but it could prove to be quite load heavy; however if the intention is to create a survival game alone then you'll probably be fine, but other scripts heavy mod should be avoided (frostfall is already heavy as it is but essential). Those who already know what you're doing, why are you reading this???
i hope all is ok now guys... take care
Thing is, this is all well and good but over half these mods don't have Special Edition versions. And those that do are inferior to the Oldrim versions.
The CC Survival Mode isn't perfect, and it's ridiculously priced. But It's not completely useless, since most of the free mods aren't quite there yet.
i personally play SSE so that i don't have to swap my mod profile on Oldrim out from Enderal every time I want to switch games. oh and SSE load times are much quicker.
SSE will catch up to oldrim. SKSE64 and SkyUI have been perfect in my load order. Some mods have given me more trouble than others when it comes to porting, but that goes with the territory of testing.
@TheSKD cause I don't have pc
nice, i hear that bruma music at like 6:20.
I love brodual and I love skyrim.
Ps. Is it weird that I listen to the tavern music from skyrim??
Requiem can solve the 3rd catagory but with a replaced vanilla game essentially
I thought SKSE for the special edition wasn't out yet? Dope! :)
its in alpha and can be buggy
only thing either the buy mod or the free mods mention is missing the the need to bath. thankfully there is a free mod that lets you bath is skyrim and adds perks for being clean and debuffs for being dirty.
Thanks for the vid Brodual! Hope y'all are okay ❤️
None of these are available on PS4 though. That's the only defence I can think of for paying for survival mod
Yeah if you're playing on console you're going to be a slave to creation club.
There is no "defence" for playing games on a console in 2017.
I'm streaming survival mode on Twitch randomly and people ask my opinion "its great for ps4 players. I'm sure they'll enjoy it, as they have nothing else. "
Bolszewicka Kurwa there is a defense for that though. I like playing on PC occasionally(yes I do have one and it's decent), but I play on console much more.
The console I find more enjoyable. I can lay on my couch with a blanket, playing whatever games I want on my TV, I have a multitude of friends that I play with consistently, I can find said friends easily on my friends list, and I can watch TV from my console as well as UA-cam, HBO, Twitch, etc.
There are few games on the PC that I'd actually play(the ones I do play don't require a high end PC) that aren't on consoles. Back a few years ago I'd agree that the performance and graphical upgrades that come with the PC are worth it, but they really aren't anymore. These newer consoles have a decent performance, relatively high graphics, and games can run at a good fps. Sure, PC will always get updates faster and will have better performance, but it isn't a huge gap like it was back on last gen.
In short, there are plenty of reasons why people play console. PC's are great, but they aren't necessary. The one thing that I can heartily say is amazing about PC gaming is the Indie games. It feels great being able to look at hundreds of community games and downloading the ones you want for free in the blink of an eye.
AmazingGaming
Your argument to me sounds like you're simply saying "I can do as much as you on my console while still sitting in comfort'. If we cancel out TV related things like HBO (which is not gaming related and the main point Bolszewicka Kurwa was making about playing GAMES((Also instant watch netflix is a thing too))), PC does everything you just listed, and more.
What brought this up wasn't quality of graphics or power of the machines, it was free mods vs creation club. That in itself is an advantage squarely in the PC column. While I agree there are some reasons to play console, they aren't as....freeing as you wish them to be. Console exclusive games restrict them to specific consoles, for instance. That is not consumer friendly, and only benefits the company who owns the console. While in recent times consoles have gained USB ports, PC has had gamepads for longer. PC port is more of a household term than console port for a reason...
When it comes to gaming, there is no defining right answer about whether or not a PC or console are 'necessary'. Gaming is all about the subjective feeling of enjoyment. Not to mention I'm currently seated in a lounge chair, with a pillow on my lap for my keyboard, and a small old lapdesk for my mouse to my right. Enjoyment in comfort is what you make it~
For the record: I am not PC master race. I couldn't care less about the war raging on between PC and console. I wrote this up to offer debate points to counter yours, to hopefully broaden opinions on the matter for anyone who reads these posts.
what are some immersive armor mods for skyrim's harsh weather. fur cloaks and hoods and fine but i find it hard to get immersed fully if all you have is fur armor that only covers your waists and leaves most of your torso and arms exposed to frostibe temperatures
Warmth - light Armor replacement is nice
Immersive Armor by Hothtrooper44. He also makes Immersive Weapons suite. MUST HAVES for any playthrough
Im about to get back to playing Skyrim and i was wondering whether to use the official survival feature. Now i know its better to just use Frostfall like i did back when i played the original Skyrim. Thanks
Survival mode has warmth ratings on clothing but frostfall and campfire dont. Not at least that ive seen maybe its an option but it drives me crazy
Frostfall is simply the best mod ever made for Skyrim. After you try it, the game feels dull without it.
Hey Brodual, have you heard of the new Skyrim multiplayer mod coming out?
Hey Brodual love your content! Would you consider adding some sort of notification on the screen to let people know if the mod is available in Skyrim Special Edition? Just some small symbol that pops up would be insanely helpful for us SSE users
TheSKD But SSE is way more stable, I have yet to have a CTD its crazy
So bummed us PS4 players must resort to the Survival Mode
Manuel Paulino its got a little more depth than most of the video makers have noticed. For one, you die from getting wet in icy water. Another one is that some foods can be crafted that provide warmth too.
Avrysatos I guess... I just wanted a bit more detail. Thirst, camping, I would love to try the HunterBorn mod too. But at least we got something, so all is well.
Yeah.
I've been playing it and i just found out the other day you can use a fire atronarch for warmth. no really.
I find the survive mode to be a bit silly since a carrot restores 2 hunger, a cooked potato restores 18 hunger, and regular steak restores 380 hunger. They should have made the hunger values more realistic and added buffs to the food you cook like in fallout 4.
Do you know where fair skins complexion went on Xbox one I had deleted it by mistake and now I can't find it if you have any insight into the problem it would be appreciated
*angry bethesda screaming in the distance*
But does temperature affect enemies? Like it would freeze you to death, but enemies live in lava
I cant decide. Should I use iNeed or Realistic Needs and Diseases which you shown four years ago?
Anyone any arguments why I would want to choose iNeed instead of RND?
January 2021...still waiting for SkyTweak SSE :( devastated
I can vouch for rave, it’s tight
Just saying Happy New Year!
Hey Brodual, what graphics mod(s) are you using in this video? Your game loooks so beautiful. If you have a video already made you o make it look as good as yours, I’m sorry.
"BETHESDA YOU BETRAY US" - me 2017
All of these mods other than skytweak are available on Xbox
I love your videos but this one honestly falls short. The survival mode is for Special Edition - Skytweak is not available for SE and frostfall doesn't even integrate with SkyUI in SE. If modders can quickly adapt to SKSE64 and SkyUI we could start to approach LE content but we aren't there yet.
I got rid of campfire and frostall since the whole update. Do they even work on Xbox or is it still messed up ????
I'm gonna be honest: I was really hoping you'd highlight a mod that did the same thing to your UI that the survival mode does.
Does frostfall account for weather mods? Like if one if Vivid Weathers includes rain, does it know it's raining and that the character should be getting wet?
Hey will you be doing Skyrim Special Edition? Given it's moddable now I think a Top 100 would definitely be worthwhile!
wait, they're finally making SKSE for the special edition? i thought that was on indefinite hiatus!
Unfortunately, most of these aren't available for special edition, and the ones that are, aren't as polished. The frostfall mod on se doesn't have warmth rating or the hud. If you managed to get the cc survival mod for free and play SKSE it's still a good alternative.
Hey, do you know any mods that give Skyrim more of a viking-fantasy feel than it already does? If so, could you recommend me some? I've been dying to get my hands on a mod like that but I haven't found any, any good ones at least.
I've got skyui for special edition and the mcm is messed up for mods like frostfall and Ineed. Anyone have any advice?
5:16 can you use the imperial tent aswell?
did bethesda update survival mode or something? when i played it, camping was 100% possible. or is that a separate creation club thing?
Literally needing 5+ mods to keep my Frostfall working and even then it is still broken; face it... Frostfall is dying.
Just play on console. PC is too complicated for you.
instead of adding different mods for disabling fast travel and health regen, I use SkyDie
Do you have a link to your usually load order/modlist anywhere?
What camera mod do you use (like in 4:38)?
Thanks
I've never understood completely blocking fast travel. It's not something you can do accidentally so if you want to make the game more difficult just don't do it.
I usually don't fast travel outside of in game mechanics like Skyrim's wagons, it's just how I like to play. The only time I ever did fast traveled in Skyrim was to get my companion to reappear after they somehow got lost.
Some people don't have that kinda self-control when playing if the option is present. That'd be like saying "what's the point of basic needs mods if you can just make your character eat and sleep and imagine it?" But when a mechanic is implemented, you actually have to. So if someone like me, with said lack of self-control (which kinda stems from me in real life but we won't go there lol), wants to not have fast travel, then I would need it modded to actually restrict me from fast traveling.
hey dude, which are your pc configs to run skyrim at 60 fps ??
How does INeed compare to Imps More Realistic Needs?
i want these mods but i din't want to have them when i play a normal playthrough
Brodual, please can you stop producing your own content and submit yourself entirely to my demands!
(1119th request)
Amazing but for me hunterborn dont work idk why i need all skyrim DLC for hunterborn ?
What armor is that NPC wearing at 6:15 ?
is there a skyrim special edition version of this stuff
man when your new videos is coming out
Here before Last Seed.
It's pretty sad that Bethesda, an official gaming company, can't make mods (let alone copy them properly) better than their customers, the people who never made the games to begin with.
Does anyone knows the graphic mods used by this channel?
Skyrim Survival is NOT compatible with Valdacil's Item sorting, as an fyi
2:35 Does anyone know which mod he's using for the ground textures?
What is the camera mod you guys are using?
Van Eldritch Enhanced Camera.
I believe this needs SKSE
are you using the script extender for the special edition? is it already out?! D:
Capitan Spoiler its in alpha you can test it out now. skyui a matter of time quicklight and immersive hud are also out now.
pleae Cover the second great war, its awesome.
6:21 What mods make the trees look like that?
Flora Overhaul
Is this game really still being modded
great
