Les gave me 2 kisses when I met him at work. He was doing a concert for Countdown an Australian TV show, it's finished now this was sort of a reunion type of concert. Just love him RIP
I'm 59, and this song came into my head a couple of days ago. It's been in my head ever since. I remember when this single came out. Now and then it's always good to get lost in the music you grew up with.
I just messaged my best friend and we both say for us the 70's and 80's. But I loved dressing up in my Mom's 60's clothes and dancing to rock and roll, I am glad I grew up in this era we had the happiest times for sure💝
I was madly madly in love with Les, and I truly thought he was singing this to me, as soon as I heard them singing on tv I would run into the room and sit on the floor close to the tv and would not take my eyes off Les, I loved him soooo much ....I had all the clothes too...the Bay City Rollers were the best...God Bless and Love Les up there in Heaven💖💝💖
Thank you, I’m feeling a little sad over this news today. I saw these guys at the Palladium in New York on this tour in January 1977. It was complete pandemonium!
2023 and i am 56 years old and still listening to bay city rollers, oh Lord what a good time back then all the memories are flowing in my head right now, Good times for sure.
I'm 66 next week and i was never a BCR fan. I was 19 in the mid 70's and it was uncool for a 19 y/o to be a fan , but my younger sisters , who are in their 60's now, were huge fans . I just listened to a recorded 2018 interview with Les on Radio 2 /Sounds of the 70's - very nostalgic , it brought back memories of a great time in my life - the 70's just rocked. I now keep hearing S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y night being played over and over in my brain - the Rollers were defo in everybody's face in the mid 70's and you were way too young to leave this planet Les , R.I.P .
that interview Johnnie Walker did was fantastic. there was always meant to be some antagonism him and the BCR but the camaraderie of the 2 men was plain for all to hear. i hadn't heard the interview until it was on the sounds of the 70's after Les died and it made me laugh and brought a tear to my eye. I was around 10 at the height of their fame and never a fan of teeny bop music as my brothers were into bowie, pink floyd and deep purple. and when my sister sewed some tartan down the sides of my favourite jeans i cries for days lol. but listening to it all now just makes me so happy and thoughtful of simpler times :-)
I was 13 in 1976 and the quintessential teeney bopper. My bedroom wall was plastered with their posters, read teen magazines cover to cover, even made a pair of jeans with tartan at the bottom. What innocent times. Wish I had a time machine.
Was in my early teens when bcr were just becoming really famous I idolised them and still do I loved woody thought he was so cute and he's still going strong good for him so sad for the other rollers they will always.be remembered xxx
I was totally bonkers over these guys in 1974. I was 14. Saw them in T.O. at Maple Leaf Gardens. In the nose bleed section, but had a great time. Great to hear them again. I had all their records. Wish we still had this kind of music. So many great memories of having dance parties listening to these great musicians.
Love these guys still, and I'm past 60. Was lucky to see them in Seattle back in the day and had a blast. Had a bunch of their records and every time I hear one of their songs a smile comes to my face. Good times!
Ahh, brings me back to when I was a kid. I had a huge crush on Derek; my best friend gave me their album for Christmas & yes I still have it. Thanks for posting.
I was a 14 year old teenage boy from suburban Sydney Australia when this came out. Even though I liked them, I had to kind of keep it quiet, it wasn't the done thing for guys to admit to liking them. Was considered kind of 'poofy'. So dumb when I look back. Music should just be music. Glad to stand up now and say, I love the Bay City Rollers.
How bloody cool was I.... tartan v neck sweater, tartan edged trousers! Jeeez, i remember hanging out of my granny’s bedroom window, just to be unavailable to the wee guys on the estate! Such fun! But hey, memories! I can now look back and lol 😂 I remember my gran buying me an Lp, with full size photos of everyone in the Bay City Rollers! I so fell in love with Stuart, (like the rest of the world)..... so many songs, which, I really would love these guys to rerelease' this generation! Needs to kno and appreciate the bay city rollers x
1976, I was 15 and in 9th grade. The blond drummer is cute. When I first heard this as a new hit, I thought it sounded like a 1960's type song, and was thrilled. This is one of several 'happy songs' from past years.

Pay as they went to the workers club in Whyalla South Australia. I remember it very very very very much. I had a ball and a half I tell you I had a crush on the drama and I was only 14 years home but I can guarantee you I chased him around hand and I don’t think he realised, but it was a great song great group the whole caboodle. It was the best day in my life that’s fucking shitcan’t even compare anything else to see them alive they’re in the flesh what a fucking awesome site and what a band they were

Their managers ripped them off

Man I was only 6 years old
I like it too
I liked this song in the 70's ( even though I couldn't let my friends know )!! LOL!
When music was cool, innocent, and plain fun in the 70s. I am so glad I lived that decade as a kid! No comparison.
The 1950s were cool also..and 60s .that waa was when Music Ruled..

Not just the music but life in general compared to what we have now. Any one who grew up in the 70's and 80's were blessed with the best era ever.
Unfortunately, particularly if you read what the manager was up to, it really wasn't innocent at all - just the truth was unknown to most people
Football hooligans and punk rock. The 1970s innocent: I don’t think so.
2022 and this song still makes me happy every time I hear it.
