Yeah honestly the first Joker movie is one of my favorite movies of all time.
Everybody references it so much. I even see that version of Joker in Chinese freaking ads for Gacha games. It's extremely popular and the film not only grossed over a billion but did it while being R-rated. It's incredible and won multiple Oscars. If anybody on this green earth says it was forgettable, they're idiots. Joker: Folie à Deux is the only film SINCE THE LAST JOKER MOVIE to get me out of my house into an actual movie theater to watch a movie.

We don't know anything about the plot yet because this was a TEASER. It's just meant to give us vague information and some visuals to get the audience intrigued. Which I have to say, absolutely worked on me. the visuals, the song choices, Lady Gagas performance, Joaquin being Joaquin, and a small idea of where this could be going. But to say the first Joker was pretty forgettable and hasn't stood the test of time is just ridiculous, lol. It just came and went, lol. The fucking movie made a billion dollars and is one of the greatest DC films ever made. It's one of only 3 movie posters framed on my wall in my entertainment room. The others being The Batman and Man Of Steel. I just think the first film flew WAY over your heads. And that's no disrespect, just my personal opinion. So, after knowing that, it's no surprise to me that you guys don't quite understand this teaser. And that's ok. You both look pretty young. So that's to be expected almost. I thought Joker could've gone a million different directions with a sequel, and thought it absolutely needed one. The musical angle threw me off for about 30 seconds. Then I went, "oh, ok. I see where they might go with this." And I was pretty close with where I thought it might go. When Gaga was announced, I knew we were in for something special. I'm so fucking excited for this. I think it's going to be violent, sexual, bat shit crazy, sad, and extremely disturbing. AND I'M HERE FOR ALL OF IT!! October can't come fast enough!!

It always baffles me that the guy who worked on Old School and the Hangover Trilogy, worked on Joker.

joker was a great movie that has stood the test of time, joker has had a musical with harley in the BATMAN 2004 cartoon where they met idk why joker in a musical is too much but everything else that man has done is like oh yah thats the joker. so he wouldnt want to be center stage no matter what, he is a failed entertainer at heart i think ppl forget that

Joker made 1 billion dollars in the box office, a forgettable movie doesn’t make that kind of money, I surely haven’t forgotten the experience watching the movie, and obviously a sequel was no surprise.

SO many reactors to this movie on UA-cam say the same thing, that she's an inmate, not a psychiatrist just by the quick visuals, but not taking a step back to analyze it.
A doctor in a psych ward or hospital, treating patients would want to blend in, put them at ease, dress casually, interact with them, like joining them for choir practice or watching a movie........
Just like "The Sixth Sense" when you go back and watch it from a different perspective in a different context, she was clearly a doctor working there!

One thing people aren’t catching in the reactions is the significance of the umbrellas. The guards all have black umbrellas, then the camera pans over the top and it’s the jokers colors as if the Joker sees it that way when he is looking up into the rain.
Joker (2019) has definitely stood the test of 5 years. It is still a great movie. Because what we saw in this trailer is in his mind, or her mind or their minds, is a great foundation to continue Arthur Fleck's story. Hopefully, the execution is a great or greater than the first movie.

To be honest, this is one of the strangest concepts for a sequel I’ve ever heard of. But we either have to grant filmmakers creative risks or we need to stop complaining about everything is samey and too safe and made for everyone. I‘d rather take a „creative“ faliure of a movie that takes a different path than all these interchangeable meaningless movies out there. Because at the end of the day a Movie should be its own work of art and not a Disney movie template.

I think she's still a doctor. She's using music as a therapy method, and the first major part of the movie is Jokers trial. Shes always on the other side of bars/glass or entering courthouse on her own volition.

Todd Phillips says it’s not a musical per se, but with musical elements.
Musical elements but it'll be in their heads. You can see the switch between what's in their heads and real life.
