Using examples from other genres always helps me get my arms around a topic like this. For example, one that is analogous with wrestling is Batman having his back broken in the 2nd Act of "The Dark Knight Rises." Any jump to your mind?
Could you please make a video on "Wrestling CVs", I've been told to make one by my trainers but I'm a little lost on how to present it and what's important to include to convince promoters. Great content btw!
*raises hand frantically* for the powerbomb (I'm still hearing the video) without negating, use the turnbuckle (or apron)...and oh...you're saying it now. Well... It seems my brain is working well. Gotta love being logical. I can't wait to get to work! I really have to find a way before I do to pick your brain though and I need your book ASAP.
In this framework, would the traditional no selling "hulk up" often used by undefeatable babyfaces would be classed as "overcoming the obstacle" by way of a character's heart? how would you define the act of no selling offense during a comeback? Does it negate the obstacle by being incongruous with previous damage?
Louie, I'm of the opinion that "hulking up" and "no selling" is actually negating the obstacle. As you rightly called out in your last line there, it is incongruous with the rest of the story/previous damage inflicted. It just ignores the story!
