Mr Micheal Holding is one of the finest gentlemen, very intelligent who came out of Jamaica. I always love listening him. I couldn't hold back the tears 😭 too sir.
@Roger Allison Holdings point was that you never heard of Latimer's contribution. He never said Latimer invented the lightbulb, he said that Latimer never got recognized. So what's your point, is he lying?Clearly not! as your own argument admitted.

What the world needs is action. I hear a lot of people saying grandious promises. Here's mine: Mr Holding I will respectfully call out the people who maintain inequality. Like if you will stand up to inequality as well.
Sir Michael save this energy and go to Africa where you're from and build your kingdom you will be glad that you did .this thing is never going to change if you don't change Africa.if they knew you have a kingdom to go back to you will be respected , just take a look on China years back back they were no body but today highly respect all over the world.let the education start from home
What I want to interject is the fact that the racism I experience in North America and elsewhere felt no worse than the classism I'm 'used to', growing up in Jamaica. Institutional classism in Jamaica is unique in that it unlike racism, it is the 'victims' that seems to be the more ardent proponent of it. It is the higher percentage: poor, dark-skinned, without the legacy of middles eastern surnames, the ordinary Jamaican, who really has a problem with someone looking like him, being placed in a position of authority over him. He struggles to respect him. He's reluctant to take him seriously. He finds it impossible to accept that he, has gained his means, his wealth through honest means. This is institutional classism in Jamaica because I dare not call it racism.
The Tainos were not wiped out. They exist in abundance all over the Caribbean. In fact, Holding's current wife is a brown Taino Arawak who looks like Tattoo from Fantasy Island. The Arawaks were cannibals who ate the Caribs. I doubt Columbus would sleep with them. They looked so missing link...
You are right about brain washing, Michael. Except that your knowledge is selective and has many holes. You do not know how to think critically. That comes with education, which can be anywhere on the philosophical scale.
My apologies everyone, nothing is going to change. How and why would you expect me to give up the freedoms and privileges that I have known all my life? I live in the safe spaces and places and have the backing and support of law enforcement, the political, financial and cultural directorates, do you think that I'm going to give that up or share it with people who are beneath me? Not a chance.
I had the privilege of meeting the great Micheal Holding on a flight to Port Elizabeth in 2019 and shook his hands. He is an amazing gentleman and has my total respect as a person, commentator and as an ex-player. God bless Mr Holding.
This is the first time I am learning about this man in the person of Michael Holding. A cricket legend who wrote a book entitled, “Why We Kneel, How We Rise,” I have developed an interest in what he has to share, especially when it comes to people like me….black. I pray the Almighty God will continue showering him with blessings as he continues being an advocate for equality and inclusion of black people. Education on our past is beyond essential. I would like to buy his book.
Michael, very moving and there is no room for Racists, I am glad my parents had multi cultural and multi racial friends, thanks for the great cricket, and thank you and your team mates for the good sports, take care and thank you again.
In Britain some of the most highly educated people are the biggest racists in the country. They are the ones who could make changes to improve things. But they don't want to because that's a threat to their way of life. Cricket being a prime example of that.
Racism is just fun and humorous to break the ice and let off steam. Be racist back and keep it fun. Racism all round keeps things interesting. How boring to ignore the obvious variances.

Michael Holding's indigenous Taino 2nd wife is an accounting graduate from Florida International University, which is one of the lowest rated, according to QS World Rankings.
What an incredibly low thing to say. So because she went to a less well-known university, she is somehow a less and inferior person? I hope you can reflect on what you've said and realise your misaligned thoughts.
Michael Holding's father Ralph worked as a self-taught builder, while his mother Enid was from a more middle-class family. She was a headmistress at a school. I don't know what prompted Holding to get emotional on Sky today. Possibly frustration. HIs mother's family wouldn't speak to his parents because they didn't approve of his social status too. Not just the tone of his black skin, a few shades darker than their own. Yet on the Sky anti-racism video with Ebony Rainford, Holding claimed that he never really experienced racism growing up in Jamaica.
Please educate yourself on Jamaica's peculiarity...the problem there is Classism as opposed to institutional racism, In his first interview he said he personally did not experienced it. Getting into that granular dissection of his speech is missing the core message of what he was trying to convey. Mrs. Holding was my English teacher in school at KC and she spoke about her experience in class and her point was more about her husband's socio-economic class and less about the shade of his skin color.
Dr. R. You are correct. Classism came out of the plantation system, established during slavery. Divide and rule, segregation by colour, also separating slaves who spoke the same language to prevent revolts. Out of many, one people. Education, education, education.
I used to really think a lot of Michael holding but this just takes the biscuit , as a white man I HATE the term “white privilege”, just because I am white I am privileged....????, that’s a racial term in itself , I’m a white man brought up on a council estate so I am certainly not privileged , what he is referring to by walking into a shop and being followed is racial profiling which I certainly agree needs to be stopped and put an end too.
Well, it's not like he could quote Florida International University which is one of the lowest-rated universities, according to official authority QS World University Rankings. LOL
