Austin is a shadow of its former self.
It’s no longer weird, it’s open to profit. Too many changes and not enough heart.
The soul of the city has been bought. I miss the town Austin use to be. We were weird, independent and humble

@@Charlie_Paula That's the kind of life we're dreaming about living as well. Either living in an RV or a tiny house on wheels. The freedom of being independent of a certrain place is intriguing. We did a road trip across the West coast of the USA last year, and in January 2020 we'll return for a small road trip going from Orlando through Naples and further on to the Florida Keys. There's really no country like the US when it comes to cross-country road trips, the way the landscape can change during just a few hundred miles always amazes me.
Thank you very much, and you have a blessed day as well.

    • @Charlie_Paula
      @Charlie_Paula 4 роки тому

Thomas H Having the dream of adventure is something everyone should strive to live. Your words are a welcome thought today as we move closer to our retirement.
We’re in agreement regarding the accessibility of the highway network in the USA to go from place to place, but having experience traveling Europe and the South Pacific, some of the best roads as well were through Germany. Unlike the USA where some of the roads are in disrepair the roads We found in Europe were impeccable.
Hope to see you in our travels, be safe our friend.

Austin was awesome and you captured it so well! From the quaint little campground nestled in the heart of downtown to the state capitol building and everywhere in between. I've never been to Austin but it's definitely on the list now! The Oasis on Lake Travis looked especially inviting! 👍🏼

I lived in Austin for 38 years. Was a great place to be young. Couldn't wait to get the Hell out of there as a 50+ year old. Paradise lost.
That being said, I was eager to see your segment A lot of my stomping grounds were in the video.

Robert, your cooking is quite good and I bet you that eating in the RV is even more cozy and the food tastes great. Nice that your wife joins you from time to time, makes the trip even more pleasant. I am watching all the series you published and Having a lot of great ideas where to go when I happen to be in the area. Sometimes I see that you carry the Go-Pro does it also have zoom? Greetings from Oregon.

You're very lucky to have seen bats. I don't know about Austin but here in PA we had 6 species of bats and according to sources 99 percent of these bats have been decimated by White Nose Syndrom.
Amazing the numbers of people turning out to watch this natural phenomenon in Austin.
Brought back memories, as a young man I fished French Creek in Franklin, PA. Evenings and early mornings one could watch thousands of these mamals as they exited or returned to their hibernaculum inside water intakes along the banks of the creek.
Thanks for the memories Robert. Safe travels and Austin TX is now on our "where to" list.
We are "The Griswolds" on RV Vacation.

While on vacation in Puerto Rico, walking on a board walk near a beach and a light house, as I walked under a light post that had a dome cover about 6 bats 🦇 started skreeching and all flew out. I screamed, ducked and ran soo fast!!! I’d pass on ever waiting to see bats fly out of anywhere 😂. I was just hired as a Flight Attendant and I am looking forward to when I will visit Texas. Great Video 👏🏼👍👏🏼.

been watching these backwards from the most recent.... and .... mmmmm.... whataburger.... since leaving Texas, somehow I am always now 500+ miles from a Whataburger.... after eating it most days of the week from week. But do agree, in Austin downtown, there are a lot of great options around, and of course a lot of great music at night.
