That was a good idea and very nicely executed. 👍 on sax: Trygve Rypestøl - he is a Norwegian musician and university lecturer based in Kristansand (southern Norway). He received his Bachelor’s degree the same year (2015) that this was recorded and completed a master's degree at the University of Agder four years later. In addition he got practical pedagogical education at the Norwegian Academy of Music, so he can now teach clarinet and saxophone at his university. He mainly plays the tenor saxophone and is passionate about improvisation and various forms of jazz. So it is no surprise he really enjoyed this particular recording session with Angelina who's also strongly rooted in jazz. Alongside teaching, he is a freelance musician and regularly performs with various bands. He is a permanent member of Kristiansand Storband and the jazz trio Trafalgar.

It can't be that hard to do a 2 minute research and prepare this info, like her age, why she performs with no shoes, that she is a self taught singer since age 3, that English isn't even her language... you know, to be accurate and interesting, before having someone react to it and also carefully prepare the first few questions beforehand in order to do this right. No I couldn’t remember her life story on the spot after working 18 hours and hopping behind my camera to introduce her to an amazing artist. That was my goal here. I don’t do cuts or edits and I want people to see what’s REAL. What’s real is not knowing everything and researching. I’m not a news anchor, I’m a songwriter for hip hop music and I work on hundreds- thousands of my own songs each year. It’s impossible for me to have 6 UA-cam channels, run a 20,000sq ft studio that works with approximately 3000 steady clients per year, be close with my friends and family and give everyone thousands of videos to enjoy. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Even though she has been compared by many to Amy Winehouse, her major influence is Billie Holiday. Other influences are Dinah Washington, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Etta James, Whitney Houston, and Adele to name a few. Based on the true story of when she was six years old, Angelina met a homeless, shoeless girl. This was her nineth birthday present from her father cliff ? He rented the recording studio that came with the band for 2,500.00 she was only 9 years old . after they were done the band told her anytime you need us to play for you just call us we'll be there. I seen them playing for her at a few live concerts in Norway so she must have took them up on the offer. For I Put A Spell On You - Angelina was 9 years old - Her nationality is Norwegian but is fluent in English even at this age - This song was not arranged for her - she wrote the vocal arrangement based on listening to the original Screamin' Jay Hawkins version and communicated to the band how she wanted it to be played - in fact, at the beginning of the video you see Angelina writing down some last-minute changes "her wishes" and it is read by the recording producer/engineer. You also notice that her own handwritten notes are on the music stand in front of her as she sings. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. First of all, this young girl is extremely talented, amazingly so actually. Now that I've cleared that up. If I'm sitting at home, I'm giving 2 choices of which song song to listen to either the Original from Creedence or this Young girl I would Always Choose credence. The song she performed and as good as she dit's a comment on her talent. But when you're given a choice to which version to listen to, you're always going to go with the original.
Cliff and Karen, that was fun. Karen, this video was very, VERY unique and stands alone because it was so incredible. She was actually 9 years old in this video. Angelina Jordan were born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She auditioned for Norway's got talent in 2014. Angelina Jordan has lived for extended periods both in Norway and in Los Angeles. She also lived for a time in the Middle East. She has a younger sister who has been featured in some of her music videos. Her father is Swedish. Her mother is Norwegian, her maternal grandmother is Iranian and her maternal grandfather is Japanese. No I couldn’t remember her life story on the spot after working 18 hours and hopping behind my camera to introduce her to an amazing artist. That was my goal here. I don’t do cuts or edits and I want people to see what’s REAL. What’s real is not knowing everything and researching. I’m not a news anchor, I’m a songwriter for hip hop music and I work on hundreds- thousands of my own songs each year. It’s impossible for me to have 6 UA-cam channels, run a 20,000sq ft studio that works with approximately 3000 steady clients per year, be close with my friends and family and give everyone thousands of videos to enjoy.

When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a poor shoeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams. The girl then asked Angelina what her dreams were, Angelina answered that she wanted to sing for the whole world, and the girl said she would pray for her success. Since then, Angelina has performed barefoot in honor of that little girl and to those who are less fortunate around the world. She keeps this promise to this day. I'm a big Angelina fan and I think her performance on this song is incredible, but I gotta say I've always thought the band really killed it in this video. They don't get usually get enough credit for how great this is.

This was her nineth birthday present from her father cliff ? He rented the recording studio that came with the band for 2,500.00 she was only 9 years old . after they were done the band told her anytime you need us to play for you just call us we'll be there. I seen them playing for her at a few live concerts in Norway so she must have took them up on the offer. By the way there nickname for her is the Boss cuz she arranges all the music and words for the songs and she directs them with her pen or hand while she's singing. At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes.
Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina never learned the orphan's name but called her Princess. The orphan girl replied, "princesses live in castles, we live in ruins". Angelina titled her song about this story, "Princess of Ruins".
Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. Cliff she was 9. You should know that. 😊 Also she arranged the music including all the instruments. When she was 6 she met a girl selling weighing in a scale for money. She had no shows. She talked to her and discovered she supported her family by weighing people. She was bare footed with campuses. Angelina gave her the shoes she was wearing, which Angelina says were her favorite. He wrote and performed it in 1956 and Angelina based her performance on the original, although she did make some subtle alterations to both lyrics and melody. Oh, I almost forgot, her version of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' at 13 years old. Karen, she has over 200 video's on you tube and social media and her singing style, well, I'll let Angelina take it from here! In regards to 'Bad Valentine', she wrote it with Toby Gad and he plays the piano for her in the jazzy version.
