so life(not on es), mana usually then smth like phasing and evasion flask ofc the movement one too and then should it be the 40% dmg one? i know its different on alot of chars and im asking this for early game flasks.

On jade flask if your using unwavering stance (also granted by kaoms roots) you will not get any benefit from the jade. Just in case anyone thought there was a overwrite going on

Holy cow, i never thought of what it must look like for an exile battling and having to constantly quaff potions every 4 seconds until i see this Intro. That is freaking funny. Now i can't not picture my character just throwing down potions like crazy while i'm mapping.
Don't forget that all those fluids have to come out too :P
Yaaaas! A video about Immortal call/steelskin/ fortify and other defensive options and when to choose tgem would be super nice!!

I would appreciate the video on steelskin and immortal call. I just use whatevr build guides tell me without really knowing whats best
I generally use immortal call on builds with high health and endurance charge generation.
Molten Shell for builds that scale armor or fire damage.
Arcane Cloak for mana builds.
Bone Armour for necro.
And then Steelskin if none of the above apply but I have the spare gem slot for it.
To be clear, I'm not saying Steelskin is bad, in fact it's really good. But if your build already scales one of the others you might as well use that.
For Immortal Call vs Steelskin specifically, Steelskin only protects against hits while Immortal Call reduces all non-Chaos damage. If you have a smaller life pool, steelskin becomes more attractive since it straight up prevents damage taken, but if I'm playing an already tanky build then Immortal Call becomes more attractive because it let's me double down on that tankiness.

Great video. i always assumed alchemist's jade with a good roll ( over 90% ) of increased evasion is the best option. It boost evasion by a fuckton. Am i wrong? A video about defensive gems like imm call steelskin etc would be awesome.
Its probably good on evasion based characters, but generally you want to make sure you have freezing/bleeding/curse covered first, because all of those might very easily be the reason you die. Freeze will definately kill you. Bleeding is common enough that it has a high chance of being a major factor in your death. And a silence curse, although rare, can absolutely be the sole reason a spellcaster dies. Theyre just not on the same level of importance as getting more evasion. If you got those covered with other flasks, go for it.

Great video, i always just slammed curse, bleed and freeze immunity on my utility flasks and never bothered to roll them properly. Changing that today

Okay the only part I didn't understand is when you used a word I'm not familiar with. You said, "Screaming at your 'friends' on Discord.." What in the hell is 'friends'?
Kidding of course! Love these short tutorials. So much to unpack in the game. I've played now for about 1,100 hours and I am just now getting a good grasp of most of the mechanics. Every now and then I'll still learn something amazing that I didn't know.

When you said 2 life flasks, 2 mana flasks and a quicksilver, I felt personally attacked.
About the immunities, you mentioned that shock isn't that important - however immunity to burning (and poison for low-life) can be very beneficial for ES characters as the DOT prevents recharge.
I think having:
- bleed
- freeze
- curse
- shock
immunities on utility flasks is so good, it changed my gameplay from dying on t3-t4 to dying on t6-t7 :> Then it's possible to run a niche flask like burn/poison immunity as a life flask.
I can't wait for the impale video, I'm including impales on my low life sweep champion and Call of Steel seems really good for doing a sweep + calling back impales to clear trash mobs (which are still running into my range), but anything even remotely more durable - I feel it's a waste of time during which I could fit in a sweep or two, depending on my frenzy stacks.

An explanation of guard skills would be great. When to use them and what builds to use them with. Final note would be if they are better self cast or in a CWDT setup.

Yeah I spend a lot on flasks these days, I'll even annul if I hit like say a top 40% duration, then beast craft the suffix, honestly you use them every map and they work on multiple builds, it's worth it

I like having bleed / freez immunity on the quicksilver. Not fast enough to make use of the extra speed from adrenaline, and it makes it feel so much better doing maps not having to worry about freez / bleed (or sometimes curse).
Can agree, running two life flasks (roast me later), one with freeze and one with bleed removal. Dat corrupted blood this season!
honestly, I rather have freeze inmunity on a utility flask with good duration than a life flask, if the life flask is done you can get frozen again and that has killed me before. also, having bleed inmunity on a life flask helps me when I clear a pack with corrupting blood and suddently my lifebar melts
Ziz, you recommend Chemist flasks for most utility flasks, but how does it generally compare to a perfect +20 charge Ample mod? A +20 Ample can give 2 uses from Silver and Basalt as well, but takes longer to fill the flask up, so Chemist is still probably better for those. But for everything else, a +20 Ample is going to give more uses before depletion.
the jade flash tip has literally completely changed my current toxic rain/caustic arrow pathfinder build. I go from 8500 evasion to 16K!!!!!!! LOL

Jade quartz basalt, hands down the best 3 to use. I usually don’t use life flask if my build has strong leech or life gain on hit.
I cant play any build anymore without a Quartz flask or Phasing through a Watchers Eye or such.
Movement, Armour, Evasion, and Chaos Resistance on my Mageblood.
If you're a crit build you don't need reduced charges, Surgeon's prefix is better because you're critting so much you'll always be at full charges before they run out, especially good against bosses with few or no adds where you don't get as much charges back as when clearing. Silver flasks can't roll Surgeon's though, so reduced charges is the choice there.
Is it worth rolling % increased evasion rating on a jade flask? Running an elementalist and the flask would be the only real source of evasion

In which situations would you pick granite over jade? How much changes based on whether your character is based on Armour or evasion? Do both of the flasks make sense together, or should you spring for something else?
I've run into the same thing with noobs lol this and not having all elemental resistances capped. I explain that now the game begins, shopping the market and rolling flasks
This true, I started climbing a couple days ago and I ahvent changed my first small mana potion that hass 100% ARMOR.
Half instant life flask, utility flask (evasion, armour, dodge), the unique life flask, quicksilver, pure dps flask. As for what to roll on them it depends what my build is lacking. Dont have bleed immunity then put it on a flask.
Thats my usual setup. Dont know all the names. Utility and quicksilver are up all the time basically.

I use a panicked bleed... with the pantheon for life charges.
Bleed sucks, and when I tried putting it on other slots I found I wouldn't have a use available more often than I liked.

Interesting stuff. I never use flasks really, other than life flasks. That's possibly why I can't ever seem to get past map tier ten then.

The first 3 priorities are fairly obvious, but shock over poison? have I been doing it wrong all this time? Need to try this.
zomfg I have barely been thinking about my flasks at all this run, I have my anti-bleed and anti-curse rolls and left the remaining utilities as 'well those are nice' sort of rolls... but zomfg looking at this makes me realize how much better I could make them if i decided on what specific rolls I want on each one lol, which is not too costly to do. I'm already considering dropping a ton of currency on multicrafting but didn't even think to do 4 of my flasks rofl

I like panicked life flasks when I have a lot of life recovery rate and increased recovery rate from flasks.
Like a chieftain or trickster running arkaali and a life recovery belt and some of the nodes on the tree or a random belt affix
If your playing a pure Dps mapper. Maybe dodge or evasion based. Panicked is the way to go with the new change to low life being 50%. Reason being is that if/when you get hit, you’re either one shot or damn near. Panicked is a life saver.
That reminds me, I need to get an enduring mana flask for my leveling character. Using a 6L / Tabula Rasa to level makes abilities super expensive.
Whenever I run quicksilver I tend to roll bleed on it - nothing worse than running ~60% faster while bleeding. Especially when levelling / early on.
Quartz has been great for the last leagues - the insane small areas with high enemy density.
I usually do heat until I get freeze/chill/ailment immune and upgrade to alchemist's adrenaline. When I hit the flask button, I wanna go fast.
I usually put staunching on life early, then swap to dousing once I get bleed immunity.

Quartz and lions roar granite are my most preferred flasks.

i use panicked life flasks on my berserker. The funny thing is i got quite the elemental and phys resists itsj ust that my own degen plus blood rage kinda hurts me in some situations so it helps.
You know initially i just looked at your vids for some whatever info i need, but then i watched your intros. They're the best and consider me a fan.
I actually use 2 life flasks on my life CA character. One is instant and second is not and the main reasons are: for CA its hard to get life sustain besides regen and its annoying to read mapmods or sometimes regen is not enough. Other reason is that I don't have much options since not many offensive flask benefit and in terms of defense I already have phase, capped dodge/spelldodge, lots of evasion.
For close range melee builds, don't sleep on Stibnites blind. Been making ultimatums hilariously survivable!
Stibnite and Diamonds are missing. Perhaps for good reasons but Stibnite vs. Jade could be interesting, insofar there's particular break even points where one outdoes the other.

panic life flasks is good when u are playing squishy character on softcore like 4-4,5k life, then if u get hit u always will get to full life with one flask use xD

Why is a jade flask a good defense against small attacks like porcupine quills? That made sense to me for a granite flask (since armor scaling isn't linear) but for jade isn't it just a one or two-roll system, so the size of the attack is irrelevant?
It's good against small attacks since it gives you a % chance to dodge. On a single large attack that just means either it hits and you're dead or it misses. But on many small attacks that % evade basically becomes % reduced damage because the number of incoming attacks will make the value average out.
@@mabrima Ok, I take your point - but it would probably be more accurate to say it's good in situations where incoming damage is from lots of hits rather than a single slam. It scales with quantity of attacks and not size, though they're often correlated. Either way it still definitely applies for porcupines, so I appreciate the reply.

3 Life 2 Mana. That was me for almost a year, because there are SOOOO many features and shit. No shame, I do much better now. I think we have Diablo to blame for the red and blue problem :P

Do you have any tips for actually using your flasks to keep them up? I'm doing your beeees build as a new player and I find that I don't have enough fingers to hold q (SRS) and then 2345 every few seconds.
I've found that changing keybinds really helped. I've changed my utility flask binds to a-s-d-f, with movement skill on spacebar. I've found this quite easy to use, and cuts down on hand strain since it's a more natural position. Then healthpot on Q, lesser used stuff on w-e-r and attack skills on mouse. PoE seems to have waaay too many things to press lmao.

Can anyone tell how he was gaining endurance charges spamming enduring cry with no mobs around?
i do bleed immunity on life, if im bleeding iv taken damage, if iv taken damage i want to heal
and freeze immunity on my quicksilver or quartz, if im frozen im somwhere where i dont want to be, so i want to move quickly away from that spot

Shoutout to bismuth flasks, which should be awesome if not for a stupid design manifesto of balancing the game around always having maxed resists.
So why are flask macros not ok? I have carpian tunnel problems and already have a hard time playing more then 2h in a day. Using flasks repeatedly is the most awful part of it so i just dont use them outside of bosses or i wouldent be able to do more then 4 or 5 maps in a day
